  • could be a loose connecting rod or piston ring...also could be something loose in your gear case. you just have to identify where the noise is coming from on the motor and start taking it apart.

  • @fishaholic2012 It turned out to be the lower unit. Gears and everything gone.... :(

  • @photocycle wow thats a bummer =( at least it wasn't the power head...man those things get expensive lol a new gear case could prob run 800-1000$ at the most, to get a rebuilt power head especially a v6 would cost atleast 3 1/2 grand.. but they aren't to hard to replace, you can do it yourself if you have some tools. just make sure you disconnect the shift cables before you drop anything
