  • way to go not even mentioning that it has image stabilization

  • Is it me or this lens looks exactly like an L lens? besides the fancy red ring :P

  • DAT ASS 2:05

  • Definrent shoes , defirent pants...

  • can you review the canon 15-85?

  • WOW.... L lenses are hardly more expensive and wayyy better

  • @monkeymangonewild Find me an L lens with isimilar range and mage stabilization and F2.8 at anything less than double its price. Fact is that an L lens is not WAY better and its considerably more expensive if you try and match the specs of this lens.

  • If you have a 7D/T2i/60D this is hands down the best all purpose lens you can get for it. Great focal length, very versatile, IS works great, and it's one of the sharpest zooms I've ever used (sharper than 24-70/16-35 for sure) and almost as sharp as the 70-200 f/2.8 IS.

  • Love it at 4.32 :)

  • 700 pounds..

    .. Seriously..

I mean for that you can buy both the tammy 17-50 and 28-75 SP AF XR DI IF F2,8

  • @masticina You could argue that you shouldn't get the 85L II since the 85 1.8 is only 1 less stop, but that doesn't mean that the 85L isn't better. The Canon 17-55 is crushing the Tamron in terms of image quality. Not saying that the Tamron is a bad choice if that's what your budget calls for, but you get what you pay for.

  • @rsmith1240

Oh I am not going to say that this lens won't find a good home with the Pro's .

Just saying that the price is.. pushing those with less money they are willing to put into it to others like Tamron and Sigma..

Not a bad thing. I do get it .. good quality, weathersealing, super fine focus etc.. worth money. Many are happy with less.

  • Alamby!!! damn you are nice! :)

  • who wants to see crop lens reveiws? Next!

  • for that price I rather buy a second hand L lens...

  • @4rtic3 not if I use crop sensor. Better get telephoto or macro lens :)

  • @4rtic3 The 17-55 might as well be an L lens, the only reason it's not is bc it's an EF-S lens. It's sharper than the 24-70 for sure. I have the 14L II, 35L, 50L, 85L II, and 135L and I still think very highly of this lens. If I had a 7D or T2i I'd have one for sure.

  • I love how Alamby always looks right at Lok's camera.

  • can you please make a comparison with the nikon 17-55 f/2.8 dx?

  • @kickople990 why do you want to compare two lenses from two different manufacturers which can't be used in the same body? at least with Sigma or Tamron

  • Alamby has got a great booty!

  • wow. hmmm it looks like its as big as 18-200mm. why is that? did he use extensions?

  • please do a review on canon 15-85mm

  • 2:49 lmao!!!

  • i can smell kai here on the other side of the Earth ... puuh

  • could this produce shallow depth of field?

  • @ishowyouapple Wide open, yes.

  • @ishowyouapple yes at f 2.8 to f 4, with a big focal length and subject far from background

  • Chromatic aberration

  • nice

  • it turned me on when Alamby said stick out your head a little .__.

  • She's probably very flexible…..Love Alamby.

  • I wanna kiss Alamby's cheeks. :(

  • "Alambus Dumbledore!"

  • just tell us if the lens is good or not JESUS

  • @Ladislavezr I think if canon calls it the 8D, they'll run out of numbers real soon! =D

  • @SMRTtrains id get it if its called 8D coz it looks like a dick and balls!! 8=D

  • @Ladislavezr 8D? You mean 7D Mk2. I don't think canon will call it 8D. Look at the 5D and 1D

  • When I first went digital in 2003, I figured soon all dslr's would be full-frame. So I didn't want to buy any efs lenses, because I thought I'd soon have a full frame camera at a reasonable price. Well now it's 2011, and full frames are still out of my price range and I needed a new body so I bought a 60d. I guess I'll take the plunge and give up on my full frame dreams. Sigh.

  • what lens is lok using?

  • @ishowyouapple I think its the Canon 24-105 F/4 L lens.

  • thumbs up if you red this comment for know good reason.

  • man...alamby...nice curves D:

  • First of all, non of the test shots here show what it can do. Make some photos offcamera when you can make an effort. Secondly, if you have a 2.8 lens, make some test shots on 2.8! Thirdly, for a crop-body this is the sharpest lens available. Maybe in a perfect world we all have fullframe 5D's, but irl we do not. O, and do not let Alamby shoot the test photos.

  • BRITISH ASIANS!!!!!!! NICE! :)

  • Is Alamby Australian?

  • @imraphraph yep

  • @imraphraph She lived in Melbourne

  • So the question I have is how does it compare to the Tamron 17-50 2.8 that is half the price?

  • 700 pounds?! Damn I know you said it was heavy, but...

  • alamby has a slight aussi accent ?

  • @popcisalocker Yes, Depends who/where you learn the language from I guess!

Or she may of lived there for a while.

I recently went to Sweden, a lot of them speak English with an American accent, same goes for some Eastern Europeans that we had at work. Some others, like German footballer like Dietmar Hamann speak English with a German/Scouse(Liverpool)/Geordie(Newcastle) accent because that's where they have lived, they pick up the pronunciation from locals.

  • damn, i fallin in love with alamby !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh, and i wanted to say something else: at 1:47, you have the only fast ef-s lens there is, and at what settings do you shoot? ISO 800! Why u no use 2.8!

  • God this review was ruined by that bloke. Barry or something.

  • Do a Nikon 17-55 f2.8 Review~~

  • 6:01

    "Is there anything to eat??"

    LOL

  • @Kennykid2002 Haha, hi five for understanding Canto!

  • @WillyLovesRice

    -high fives- :D

I'm actually born in HK, i just live in the states lol

  • Alamby's a hottie!!! Thumbs up!

  • Great video. I have a T3i so if I get this lens will it be 17mm wide or ~27mm wide?

  • compare it with the likes of sigma and tamron?

  • "Horsemanning. Now I know that sounds like a sexual activity between a man and a horse. But it isn't". BTW, I LOVE YOUR ENGLISH ACCENT! <3.

  • Good vid kai!

  • is this in hong kong?

  • What lens do you use for the video?

  • Make a Comparison between this Lens the Nikon 17-55mm and the Tamron 17-50mm :-P

  • Please review the Canon 15-85 EF-S since we're on crop sensors!!

  • @vargasfilm

I have 2 buddies who bought the newer version. And its not having the same problem. Maybe you bough an older stocked item.

  • Id rather spend the lil extra money on the 24-70L 2.8 instead and if i want to upgrade ill be able to use that and if not ever upgrading id rather still have the L boss

  • The mysterious, silent Barry - he's a classic!!!!!!! And then there's his walk...

  • 15-85 is pretty much as sharp and has a better focal range. But sadly it doesn't have that constant F2.8.

  • I think people are worrying to much about the models personally.

  • Lamby is cute

  • "some of you have been questioning our female models"

Nice going some of you people. You questioned the models and now we're stuck with Barry!!! wtf.

  • Way expensive. Not worth it.

  • @jambandz Only other option with Image Stabilization is the Sigma, which is ~$700 and softer in the corners. The Tamron VC is a joke. The Non VC version is almost as sharp as the Canon, but focuses slow and doesn't have image stabilization.

  • alamby is very cuuuuuuuuute

  • If the Canon is too expensive then I highly recommend the Sigma 17-50mm 2.8 OS. The optics are very similar and it's much cheaper.

  • If I had an accent like that I'd be banging chicks left and right. I hope he is using it to his advantage.

  • Android at 6:40

  • I have the 17-55 and was wondering why the focusing wasn't smooth. After going out to 50 and then zooming in, right when you get to about 28 the lens gets noticeably more difficult to zoom in. I bought it new but it's been this way ouf of the box. Not sure if I have a lemon.

Also could you do a review on the new Sigma 50-150 OS?

    Great channel!

  • @alwagp I also just got my 17-55 this month. It too does the same thing you talk about. I would assume it has to do with suction, or pressure building up in the lens. It is known for sucking a lot of dust, although a month in, mine has none at all. It just isn't built like an 'L." That's all. It makes it tough when filming movies while zooming though.

  • bang! bang!

  • @lexfujiwara Hahaha, I noticed that too.

  • Alamby midget....

  • i want a Nex 5n review

  • where marcia?!?! i miss her!

  • can we hv review on Nikon 17-55 as well ~

  • Needs.More.Lok.

    :p

  • Alamby at 4:32 ftw!!

  • best EF-S lens!

  • this was dead funny lol and the girl is seriously cute XD

  • Sorry - horsemanning is crap - try photoshop if you want to switch heads, good review of the lens (well over due) - she is soooo bored of him and he can't see it. Lok - mate be on stand by!

  • Thumbs up if you think they should get a TV Show!

  • @adrianmignogna Meh, Internet Killed Television, BAM!

  • @adrianmignogna who watches TV, when you have the internet?

  • The more I see Alamby, She seems more attractive... This Episode made my day even more! :D Keep it up Alamby!

  • this lens really shines in video mode...crystal clear video!

  • Comment removed

  • day by day..and Lambi looks more attractive

  • Awesome Lens but also dust magnet

  • Kindly also review Nikkor 17-55mm f2.8 please. Thanks for the review and entertainment :)

  • 1:55 dat ass

  • The sigma 17-50mm f2 8 ex dc os hsm is MUCH better and more sharp! also cost less then this canon.

  • Moar Alamby!

  • I love Alamby!

  • Apart from the very nice speed of the lens at f/2.8 with I.S., I'd rather go for the 17-40L which of course can also be used on full frame Canon DSLRs.

  • LOL...good job guys!

  • now thats a neutral strap

  • She is so sweet,

  • @DrBukcake out of all the Alambyophile comments, yours is most disturbing.

  • i have to agree with some previous posters.. less talking please, more lens and photos. u r a likable guy but taking the comic act a little too far

  • What about Canon 15-85mm? :)

  • the Lamby is back....

  • So how much of a difference is there btwn 17-55mm and 18-55mm?

  • i bet all of the alambyophiles will be very pleased by this

  • I would wreck that girl

  • Now lets see a comparison with the Sigma 17-55 OS HSM..

  • Alamby holds the camera at a tilt of about thirty degrees, so nearly all her shots come out skewed. She's so cute though.

  • This is great for Video people because of the "IS" function which you didn't mention.

  • What lens and body was this video shot with?

  • What happened to our Baz's hed?

  • Oh looks he is planking {"_*}

    nice lens ?

  • ohh i could watch Alamby aaaall day!

  • @MRchapterfour08 and u r a fucking racist shit head

  • time to compare it to the likes of Tamron and Sigma !!!

  • I find Kai annoying but he is entertaining , so i always click like

  • Grey t-shirt + sweat = not a good look dude.

  • I use this lens 90% of the time and it's bloody fantastic.

  • My camera phone does this

  • 4:32

  • I had a lot of fun using the Canon 16-35 2.8 L on a crop sensor. If you buy the Mark I version it works great, the build quality is wonderful, and can pick it up for about £700 2nd hand. Then if you decide to upgrade you'll have an excellent wide-angle zoom.

  • I think these shows are highly entertaining as well as informative but the background rock music can be intrusive at times.

  • I'm looking for a bridge camera with manual focus and hdr? Can someone help me out?

  • he can anyone help me what camera setup does lok use I want to build my own camera setup but im poor

  • @vincentjanse I think he is using a 5d mkii and a 24-105mm f4 L. The lens im sure of the body i think is right.

  • Hell YEAH ! at last a EFS !

  • Oh mr barry is back!!! but why not duh girl (not alamby)?

  • 15 - 85mm EF-S REVIEW PLEASE

  • @bgosai123 I have it. It's sharp as f*ck and 15mm on APS-C is a dream come true. But you won't get enough bokeh as it closes down to f4 at 18mm and you will have to buy the 17-55 f 2.8 after all.

  • you talk of crop sensor cameras as if they are lame... give me a break, the 5d mark 2 is not suitable for all and oh look almost every other camera is a crop sensor... wake up mate

  • review on the nikon 17-55 2.8 !!!!!!! :D

  • i bet all of the alambyophiles will be very pleased by this

  • Why that gay bag

  • I dont see any point spending 1000$+ for EFS lens with same kit lens range , its too much for 2.8F , why not go for 17-40 F4 L lens , at least you get red ring lol

  • Yeah, it's pretty good... but I think I'll stick with my Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 - the Canon isn't worth triple the cost.

  • Kai you are a pretty cool cat but DUDE you gotta stop shooting while walking! All your photos have mad lens shake!

  • kai, I like your videos Before..........

more talk and more pepole , less info in this video

  • 2:04 dat ass =3

  • 2:04 dat ass =3

  • 2:04 dat ass =3

  • It is arguably the most hand holdable lens, being f2.8 and having IS and all...

  • I'm going to be a perv for a moment and mention how cute Alamby's rear looks in that dress haha, but then again, Alamby is just incredibly attractive from head to toe, sooo....

  • cockmanning

  • Own this lens. It's phenomenal. Full Frame is a bit over rated.

  • what kind of camera strap is that? the brown one?

  • Time for a review by Alamby while in a bikini. Oh and whatever piece of gear you want to review. Doesn't really matter.

  • @digitalrevcom do a review of the sony DSC HX-9V

  • Thank you so much Kai & Lok, I have wanted to see this video for so long!

  • At the same price you can buy a 24-105 L f4.

  • @viniciusvardiero but you loose a full stop of brightness, and will have a very hard time in close quarters due to the 24mm minimum focal length (38mm equivalent for full frame)

  • We want Garcia back!!!

  • IS ALAMBY LEFT HANDED ? AS SHE PUT'S THE CAMERA TO HER LEFT EYE.

  • @kalbo1921 I put my view finder to my left eye, and I'm left handed? Not sure if it's actually linked though lol

  • @Starsonedge

I'm left handed and use my left eye. There must be a link.
