  • what guitar u got mate? i have a standard mex strat. sounds good but nothing like ur machine

  • Very cool lesson thnx a lot as always !!!

  • nice strat

  • Great video! can anyone share the link for part 1?? I cant find it...

  • Your tone is to die for!!!,there tons of great players but only %10 have an ear for tone .I keep telling my guitar player, 'use the neck pick -up with a clean sound on your amp for that ultimate blues tone' FANTASTIC SOULFUL PLAYING!

  • David, really do enjoy your video's. I've checked out a lot of them and always informative, made with enthusiasm and like this video, easy to follow along with. I'll be getting a DVD soon to see if its helpful for me. Thanks again for the video you take the time to put out for us viewers.

  • sounds good but a little technical

  • @leavittobeaver this is technical? wow.

  • @brownbigb not technical as in fast just very straightforward

  • @leavittobeaver so how is that technical?

  • this kind of blues are beautiful.

  • Excellent

  • Bought one of your lesson packages bro. It was a HUGE help. Much Kudos!!

  • thanks so much - most appreciated! So glad that you like the dvds and lessons - keep up all the ahrd work and keep on rocking!

    take care

    David T

  • awesome stay young Dave and thanks

  • david t is waaaaaay better than marty schwartz, he's better at guitar, teaching and he's not as cheesy as marty

  • Good stuff. Now all I have to do is try it and apply it.

  • what amp you using here dave?

  • Hi - in this lesson the amp I am using is an all tube Fender Hot Rod Deville 2x12 combo amp - run through the clean channel with just a tiny splash of reverb

    thats it

    rock on!

    David T

  • Awsome tone on that Strat, great lesson, thanks Dave.

  • rockongoodpeople was the first guitar lesson channel I started following when I picked up the instrument two years ago - currently it is my most neglected subscription. I still enjoy willbilly's licks each week or so and I have followed Marty to his other projects. The problem with these lessons, in my opinion, is that they attract a learning player at a very specific point in time which that player soon quickly evolves out of - provided they're getting info from elsewhere.

  • @taylorsashawood you are right. this is only good for total beginners.

  • I can appreciate how comfortable it is to always play in Am or Dm, always using the same pattern, and always jamming over a 1-4-5. But David, I think you're teaching mediocrity. If students can understand why the licks are working whatsoever (why the b3rd sounds good bent a little bit) - than they should try to. If you're ever struggling for viewership, try creating videos with fresh ideas that aren't simply overlap of the last dozen all keyworded blues lead guitar rock solo etc...

  • @taylorsashawood You can't teach all soloing technique in one video.

  • sweet tone man! what amp do you use?

  • Blues is one of my favourite music to listen but its just that almost all the progressions are the same chord intervals.

  • @Presentboy Well sure. Typical 1 4 5. However there are many variations on that typical bleus progression. Ride on - AC/DC for example...

  • David, I have been enjoying your lessons since I began visiting YouTube 4 months ago. I have listened to many by now and I think you are one of the best. You're very patient and give some good advice on a multitude of guitar playing aspects. Thanks again David!!! Joey Vaughan "World Blues Attack"

  • dont like the tone :(

    cool otherwise

  • Thanks Dave, keep on rockin! hey Will :-))

  • at last :) what i was waiting for

  • Hey David, have you signed up for the Ernie Ball Crossroads contest?

    I'd vote for you!

  • Thanks man - no, I have not signed up - will have to look into it - I didnt know ernie ball was having one - thanks for the note - rock on!

    DT

  • @rockongoodpeople Can you give me your guitar? Mine broke so....I guess your obligated to buy me one?

  • You on stage with Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, John Mayer, it would be epic!

I'm sure you have tons of people here who would vote for you. Go for it!

  • You've got my vote too!

  • @bigbraindog MARTY SCHWARTZ ALL THE WAY!!!!!

  • @BosshogProductions Im sorry for making it sound mean, but Marty I have been a fan of ever since I started guitar, and he did it all for free on here, and I really think he deserves to play here, because he has it in the bag, and his life long dream is to play on stage with Eric Clapton. Maybe next year?

  • @BosshogProductions I think your awesome, but I just discovered you man. Your an awesome rocker, but I bet you could wwin it next year. Seriously, you rock dude, but I have voted for marty and wanted to give him something for all of this and his heart would be broken man! We cant do this to him! If you really want to, go for it...next year

  • @BosshogProductions marty is not a very good player. he's ok. but dave is another level. the way to win a contest is to keep other people out. right on.

  • am settings? :)

  • @Jensomito reverb, clean. thats it

  • Am I the only person who loves the look of a 70's style Strat with the big headstock and logo? Serious guitar porn for me *drools like Homer Simpson* :)

  • @Zed1967 I got a 80's strat, ya I love those big headstocks, they rock!

  • @skelton1089

I have a Roland ready Mex Strat that I bought in 2000 but I deffo want a 70s big headstock Strat as well as my Strat has been seriously modified by me so isn't a ''true'' Strat.

  • god he looks so stoned

  • I WANNA SEE YOU WITHOUT YOUR HAT ON !!!

  • sounds really professional...amazing what you can do with 5 notes!

  • is that an g&l? sounds sweet.. I see the fender label, but I just can't believe it..

I think I've asked you that allready..

  • @OMERTA011 I seem to recall it's a early 80s hardtail strat

  • Dude, you have a true blessing, a gift,,,,the things you do, and make it look so easy. Rock on my brother!!

  • 70s stratocaster. sexy :P

  • GOD DAMN,

people need to stop say first!

And nice lesson haha. really thanks for all the lesson david! I'm not very advanced and your lessons help me alot (:
