Your tone is to die for!!!,there tons of great players but only %10 have an ear for tone .I keep telling my guitar player, 'use the neck pick -up with a clean sound on your amp for that ultimate blues tone' FANTASTIC SOULFUL PLAYING!
David, really do enjoy your video's. I've checked out a lot of them and always informative, made with enthusiasm and like this video, easy to follow along with. I'll be getting a DVD soon to see if its helpful for me. Thanks again for the video you take the time to put out for us viewers.
Hi - in this lesson the amp I am using is an all tube Fender Hot Rod Deville 2x12 combo amp - run through the clean channel with just a tiny splash of reverb
rockongoodpeople was the first guitar lesson channel I started following when I picked up the instrument two years ago - currently it is my most neglected subscription. I still enjoy willbilly's licks each week or so and I have followed Marty to his other projects. The problem with these lessons, in my opinion, is that they attract a learning player at a very specific point in time which that player soon quickly evolves out of - provided they're getting info from elsewhere.
I can appreciate how comfortable it is to always play in Am or Dm, always using the same pattern, and always jamming over a 1-4-5. But David, I think you're teaching mediocrity. If students can understand why the licks are working whatsoever (why the b3rd sounds good bent a little bit) - than they should try to. If you're ever struggling for viewership, try creating videos with fresh ideas that aren't simply overlap of the last dozen all keyworded blues lead guitar rock solo etc...
David, I have been enjoying your lessons since I began visiting YouTube 4 months ago. I have listened to many by now and I think you are one of the best. You're very patient and give some good advice on a multitude of guitar playing aspects. Thanks again David!!! Joey Vaughan "World Blues Attack"
@BosshogProductions Im sorry for making it sound mean, but Marty I have been a fan of ever since I started guitar, and he did it all for free on here, and I really think he deserves to play here, because he has it in the bag, and his life long dream is to play on stage with Eric Clapton. Maybe next year?
@BosshogProductions I think your awesome, but I just discovered you man. Your an awesome rocker, but I bet you could wwin it next year. Seriously, you rock dude, but I have voted for marty and wanted to give him something for all of this and his heart would be broken man! We cant do this to him! If you really want to, go for it...next year
@BosshogProductions marty is not a very good player. he's ok. but dave is another level. the way to win a contest is to keep other people out. right on.
Am I the only person who loves the look of a 70's style Strat with the big headstock and logo? Serious guitar porn for me *drools like Homer Simpson* :)
I have a Roland ready Mex Strat that I bought in 2000 but I deffo want a 70s big headstock Strat as well as my Strat has been seriously modified by me so isn't a ''true'' Strat.

Blues is one of my favourite music to listen but its just that almost all the progressions are the same chord intervals.
Presentboy 1 year ago
@Presentboy Well sure. Typical 1 4 5. However there are many variations on that typical bleus progression. Ride on - AC/DC for example...
