Poor Tony. He should be set free NOW! NOT December!! He might not make it..... Tigers DON'T eat grass! They are meat eaters!! The owner is slowly killing him. Louisiana is sick. The owner is sick. He should be locked up in a cage for more than 10 years!!

On 5/6/11, the Animal Legal Defense Fund won its case against the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, preventing the Dept from renewing the annual permit that allows Michael Sandlin, owner of Tiger Truck Stop, to display Tony as a roadside exhibit. When the permit expires December 2011, he will no longer be able to keep Tony confined at the truck stop. ALDF hopes to work with the Dept to find the best new home for him, providing recommendations for sanctuaries where Tony can live.

This is so heartbreaking! LDWF, can't you see how this poor tiger is suffering? Why won't you help him? How can you turn you back on such a beautiful majestic animal? Pathetic! 10 years of breathing fumes stuck in that cage has turned this tiger into a pathetic sight. You should all be ashamed of what you have done to one of God's most beautiful creatures. do not consume that much grass, nor do they walk that slow. I feel this tiger is

being drugged so he/she won't make too much noise for help. This human Sandin

should be executed - too many horrible humans on this planet anyway.Animals

do not ruin the planet, humans do.Plus Tony's belly look too big - a sign of not

much to eat.

Scumbag Sandlin keeps Tony for purely selfish reasons. I called the tiger truck stop three days ago and I believe Sandlin answered. We argued abit and then I accused him of exploiting Tony for monetary reasons, which he hotly denied. He then slammed the phone down. The LDWF MUST deny Sandlin's license this time. If they don't, I'm afraid Tony will never be rescued. Thousands have expressed their support for Tony by signing petitions and contacting the LDWF. What more will it take?

As a Louisiana native, I have one piece of advice: follow the money. And that goes for the LDWF approval process, as well.

does anyone else noticed that Tony is thin? the owners doesn't seemd to be feeding him enough! an average tiger should be weighing between 600 to 800 lbs and eats about 40 to 50 lbs of food daily ( that is about 1300 to 2000 lbs of food a year )

Its horrible to see such a amazing beautiful animal in circumstances like that. It always about that stupid money. I wish i could help you guys! But there is not much i can do, from europe pfff... We were glad we had the opportunity to stop by and check on Tony. I don't understand the LDWF decision, but I can only imagine there is some "money under the table" going on.

I would also think that if the owner of this animal really cared for him, he would want Tony to have a home based within the natural habitat settings for a Bengal tiger.

By keeping him locked in a cage for 10 years under these circumstances, only tells me that Tony the Tiger is a "money gimmick" for the truck stop.

I have done more to preserve and protect tigers than you could ever think of doing. I have been exhibiting and raising tigers for 24 years. 10 cubs have been born at the truck stop. 2 are at the Zoo of Arcadiana in Brousard, LA. Toby, Rainbow, and Shere Khan are at Tiger Haven. Toby and Rainbow lived in the exhibit for 18 years and died of old age. You need to know all the facts before you spread these lies about Tony's care. Please go to savetony.com and Learn the Truth.

You also sold at least one of your tigers to a road side circus, correct?

Imagine having a life like this. TEN long miserable damn years living in a Concrete Cage. For one soul purpose. FOR GREED! So one man ( Michael Sandlin) can bring in extra business and money to his TRUCKSTOP. A GREEDY man with no self-worth, no self esteem keeping an ENDANGERED TIGER, at a filthy small, toxic filled Truckstop...and all the while the LDW&F sits back and lets him do this.

And this is totally wrong!!! Tigers who are in captivity should be in a GOOD ZOO or with a organisation like The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg colorado.

Please somebody in the USA contact them and give this tiger a better live.

How can the truckstop people who own this tiger get him in such a bad shape fysically???

LDWF: put what is paramount in this case as your priority: Tony's health, welfare and LIFE. If you decide to renew your permit to Tiger Truck Stop - you condemn Tony to another year of suffering. Put an end to this sad, abusive, unacceptable situation and allow Tony to have the care, home, peace and respect he deserves.
