This happened one block from my house. It was a long standoff, and I prayed the last guy would just surrender before he got shot. He got shot, but he lived. That being said, let me tell you what kinds of crime usually happens here... asshole on asshole crime, and loud-mouth-punk getting their fair share of karma crime. This particular one was a house invasion on a drug dealer...
Lynn is slightly higher than average crime for a city of it's size... and some of us do stay to help.
Lynn years ago used to be a good, hardworking community. I'm talking husbands, wives, decent people looking out for one another. Now most of the births are illegitimate. The state has moved in thousands of unwed mothers, gang affiliates, and the like. Trouble and crime have followed. Lynn along with communities like Springfield have become dumping grounds for the state's trash. It's unfortunate because years ago it used to be much nicer.
@MaDuke Well if that's how you enjoy living YOUR life, go live it in all its filthy glory and don't bother hating on those who are smart enough and ambitious enough to leave that filthy rat's nest called Lynn! He's only speaking the truth about Lynn while all you typical low life Lynnites make excuses! So who the f#¢¼ are you to talk shit?
@stevensnewest1119 I respect your opinion completely and if choosing to leave Lynn was your decision that's great. One of the amazing things in life is that we are all allowed the freedom of opinion. Rather then posting how much you hate this city and avoiding it at all costs why don't you be more proactive and do things to help. Ever think about volunteering at a youth center in a city like Lynn? Or are you one of those people that think its a waste of your time?
You may think its a waste of your time but I have seen what a good heart can do in a crowd of youth. Sure you may strive to mentor 10 and only 1 will actually listen but that 1 is enough of a reason and even if all 10 didn't care guess what? There's 10 more just like them you could share wisdom with. They are the future. Just so you know, Ive lived in and been involved in very elite areas as well as places far worse then Lynn. But Lynn is my home just as your new home is yours.
And this is exactly why I left this disgrace of a city. Lynn is, by far, one of the most disgusting, foul and dangerous cities I've ever experienced. I peacefully and happily reside outside the North Shore; in the suburbs, away from Lynn entirely.
@stevensnewest1119 Wow, dumbest comment I've ever read in my life. You think that little suburb of yours is crime free? lol, well think again, if anything the crime would be much worse in the suburb. Lynn is no where near a favela, so its quite clear you've never lived life to the fullest, nor lived at all, when incidents that clearly don't occur everyday, scare the crap out of you.
And as a christian, shouldn't you be amongst ppl that need to hear the Word? Jesus didn't hide in a "suburb"

Massachusetts is a disgraceful state anyways....

@robdhaiti I would have to completely disagree with you on that, with the exception of Lynn and any other crime-rittled city within the state.
