  • Check out my video on my turtle tank sometime:)

  • Nice set up

  • Awesome tank!!

  • this is a really good tank im gonna get a 40 gallon tank for a turtle im gonna get and is a 50 watt good cause im gonna get a rock which is much easier to heat up and i think this was good info thanks

  • Is it healthy if my red eared slider is 2 inches about as big as squirt but it's shell is turning brown

  • i want to make a turtle tank like yours, but my question is: how to you clean the sand or how often do u change it?

  • What should i do if my red eared slider shell become soft ?

  • He is so cute. I have some red eared sliders

and there names are Franklin,Sheldon, and Newton. :)

  • Do red eared sliders have to stay in a water tank or can they live is a land habitat?

  • @Mrcatdaddy587 they need both, red ears are very active swimers but also like to bask

  • @88ratjake69 Thanks :D

  • Ah! My turtle has the same name. I didn't name her, as she was a hand-me-down, but I thought it was funny that I came across your video. She's an African Side-neck.

  • what are some other ways to keep your aquarium clean. i have a 30 gallon tank. and a fluval filter. somehow, the water still turns green! also, do you have any recomendations for a dock. i have gone through at least 3 docks. one broke, one the suction cups didnt work and the other was cheap. would you recomend the turtle topper or the turtle bank? i have the one you have n your 60 gallon tank and the suctions dont work. thank you for the help.

  • i was just wondering i have 2 red eared slider turtles .one male and the other one female ..is it better for the female to lay on water or on land??

  • i have a question. PLEASE HELP!!!i have a red ear slider just like squirt, his name is ET.. for the last few months he has been sitting on his rock. he doesnt swim around. im worried for ET. is he hibernating?

  • MrPorscratchings ... be nice! The turtle looks well taken care of and happy ... Great tank!

  • was it hard seting up the tank

  • I agree with constipation finger, shit tank

  • how do you keep your tank so clean i have the same filter as yours and my tank its dirty and my tank is smaller than yours

  • Ok but still looks like a fish tank. You should get a 'turtle tank pro 120'

  • I would use calcium sand instead. Sliders have a tendency to eat pebbles/sand and can get impacted intestines from it. Cute turtle though c:

  • really helpful thank for making it and hi squirt :)

  • Ok. Thanks

  • where did u buy the sand for your tank and whats it called?

  • Should I leave the lamp on at night or turn it off??? Please reply.

  • @trevt99 for a red ear slider I would recommend to put it off at night because its says to leave the light on 8 to 12 hours a day.

  • SQUIRTS CUTE RED EARED SLIDERS ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!

  • a background on the tank would be good

  • i have a question, i got a red eared slider for like 1 week ago.

But it doesnt seem to eat can u tell me why? i have buyed some small fish and some pills

  • @frederikhylle I wouldn't worry too much, he just needs to settle in to his new environment keep feeding him (but not the fish, they're way too fatty for him) he'll eat when he's ready.

  • @MrNeonZebras it has settled in now :) and its eating im giving it srimps :)

  • can 3 baby red eared sliders about 2 inches each be kept in a 20 gallon or should i get a 40 gallon? please reply im getting them soon. :)

  • Hey, nice tank! One think I ntoiced was that you said that all lights are turned off for 12 hours.. Does this mean the only warmth in the tank is the heated water? Sorry I'm new to turtles! :P

  • wholy clean tank!!

  • PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ANSWER.. ANYONE please! (dont meen to be spazie..) But,..PLEAS answer.. how much does a thirty gallon aquarium cost?

  • very nice setup its beautiful!

  • hey i need an answer i have like an adult turtle and i was wondering can it swim in like high water?

  • @hiddendragon100

Yes! All turtles have that ability.

  • @LiveForTurtles no not box turtle ?!

  • @LiveForTurtles omfg.u said all types of turtle have that ability to swim,But i said not Boxes turtle ??!!

  • @LiveForTurtles nvm.

  • @hiddendragon100

    haha!

  • @LiveForTurtles r u a dumbass ?

  • Does he sleep in the water or on the driftwood?

  • Squrt the red ear slider lived by the sea

  • thats probably the happiest turtle in the world lol

  • When you buy a heater how do you regulate the temerature in the tank? and how many watt heater do you think i would need for a 20 gallon tank?

  • Excellent set up very nice

  • my turtle's name is squirt!!! :)

  • Does he need a oxygen pump?

  • love it soo cool nice tank

  • You r really helpful and clever about the way u do those things

Like putting the rock there to make the sand stay in place

    Ur gr8

    :)

  • squirttheturt hehe lol

  • how much did it all cost

  • Why are they always swimming towards the glass? I mean that they act like they would like to get throught it. After few days they should learn that this is impossible, but they do it all the time.

  • @BGFGR mine always likes to follow me, so maybe thats why :)

  • nice tank

  • TurtlezrKutte if your

Turtle has a thick tail he

Is a male vice versa for female

I don't have a turtle but I want one are they good pets

  • Well I Have A Baby Red Eared Slider , Its Being Kept In A 10 Gallon Tank , I Do Think She Is A Female But I Am Not Quite Sure . Will I Have To Upgrade , She's About 2 Inches Now .

  • Hey! Im thinking of getting a Rio Grande Turtle. A lot of websites say that the care is the same as a RES. Do you have any tips for a tank set up? And some lighting tips would be great! I'v never owned a turtle before, so I need all the help I can get! Thanks! :D

  • Is it true that the red eared turtles dnt need a basking area because they are an all water turtle?

  • hi i got 3 question i jus bought 3 red ear slider turtles and do u realy have to have a lamp and do you have to put them in deep water to swim and if there babies can they still swim in deep water...please repy back..ty

  • @flymoney100 Yah same i have the same problem i dont know if they need deep water

  • what kind of filer do you have? and whered you get it?

  • i have a turtle named Squirt to and hey PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ANSWER THIS QEUSTION i have one baby turtle do you think i should get another i have a 20 gallon tank and hes the same length and weidth as your's ??? do you think i should get another so he has a friend or no?

  • @cpcsmith12 hey! i'm not squirt's owner (obviously) but i do have a baby red eared slider and do NOT advise that u get another one unless u can buy a larger aquarium. the rule of thumb is that per 1 inch of turtle, there should be 10 gallons of water. if ur turtle squirt is also 2 and a half inches long, then u should have a 30 gallons tank anyway, so DONT add another turtle until u can get a much bigger tank. good luck! ;)

  • awsome tank! squirt looks exactly like my red eared slider, Pepsi. if you want, you can take a look and be the judge. (my videos)

  • That's a great tank. My red eared slider looks a lot like yours, btw. And is squirt from finding nemo???!?

  • mine wont grow :/

  • thats my turtles name wowwwwwwww thats crazy

    how old is he?

  • do u need so many light and do the yhave to be really big for 3 turtle cause im gonna buy some and i wanna know how to set up the tank. =)

  • Really good water quality! How do you keep it so clean?

  • Nice log u have there

  • Squirt is a very lucky turtle to have such a good owner!!! :)

  • great vid helped alot

  • im am thinking about getting one how big do they grow plz plz reply

  • @LoveLife522 Females can get up to a foot long, requiring a minimum of a 125-150 gallon tank.

  • @SquirtTheTurt thanks

  • @LoveLife522 Turtles are great pets, I'm guessing you have one seeing as you posted this 5 months ago lol

  • Are UVB light bulbs expensive?

  • @HeyHolypie Just the bulb runs around $15 - $20. They are an absolute requirement if the turtle is housed in an indoor aquarium. Lack of UVB will lead to health problems, bone and shell deformities and will also not allow them to process their calcium, leading to organ and shell issues as well.

  • @HeyHolypie not necesseraly but i would recommend the zoo-med powersun either 100 w or 160 w, it's far more expensive, but offers UVA, UVB, it's a heat lamp and of course offers light, i'm very happy with mine and recommend it to anyone!

  • i have a 60 gallon long long!!! you need a longer tank when he gets bigger!!

  • @jaelynnful He's getting a 125 gallon when he gets larger. He's only 3 inches big right now, his 60 gallon is plenty until he grows a bit more.

  • @SquirtTheTurt oh it looks smaller:)

  • @jaelynnful Actually this was his 30 gallon tank. He's since been upgraded to a 60 gallon tank. You can see the video for his big 60 gallon tank in his newer video. Just scroll up to the description for this video, and I've since added the link to the video of his new tank.

  • I have 2 baby eastern painted turtles in the deluxe aquatic turtle kit from zilla(20 gallons)....Will I have to upgrade later?

  • @nickbolts10 You will have to upgrade to a VERY large tank. Eastern Painted Turtles get very large just like Red Ear Sliders. If you end up with two males, you'll eventually have to seperate them, as males will fight. Males don't get as large as females, and females get huge, around 12 inches. To house two females, you will eventually need a 240 gallon tank. That 20 gallon tank will only last you a few months at best, so I suggest looking around now and preparing to upgrade in the near future.

  • @SquirtTheTurt i have to disagree, eastern painted grow up to 8 inches, and thats just a female, and males get up to 6 inches! but he/she will eveentually have to upgrade but not that big maybe like a 150 gallon

  • The sand on the bottom is going to make it really hard to change the water when you finally have to :D

  • @BlammmSugnin Sand substrate is one of the easiest substrates to clean. You simply siphon the debris off the top of the sand, and any sand siphoned up simply falls back to the bottom. Very easy to clean.

  • I love how much you care about him!

  • Beautiful Tank! Great Job!

  • Hi Squirt!!lol nice set up!!

  • i want a turtle but its sooooo expensive

  • @Xcoolaid not trying to be rude..but turtle are not that much money once yuo got your turtle and turtle set up witch if you get of C.L is pretty cheap i got a 60 gallon for $20 plus a filter good deal,, and food.i have 3 water turtle that i spend $15 on a month for food.

  • @jaelynnful That's rrreeallly lucky! My 75 gallon + Cabinet was $200, used.. and was the cheapest I could find! (mind you, I do live in the country, but the cities nearby had nothing better) Plus a $150 filter that I'm going to need to upgrade soon as they grow, another $80 filter, 2 $30 heaters, about $10 per lightbulb for the basking areas (i have 2 turtles, so 2 basking areas) and $20 for each of the other lights and probably more I'm forgetting - quite a lot!

  • @pittielove if you look on craigslist you can find thing for free some times.i have foung a lot of stuff for turtles that is free-50 bucks so craiglist has saved me money

  • What are the foods you feed him most?

  • @Xxmisscharlotte Squirt gets a staple diet of Reptomin pellets. He's also supplemented with fresh leafy greens like romaine and green leaf lettuce, mustard and collar greens, along with summer squash, zhuccino, carrots, and little fresh fruit like watermelon, strawberries, and pears.

  • cool i have a red eared slider named squirt too

  • Hi! I love your tank set up, and I have a question to ask you. I have a 5 month old RES and his tank is filled with about 4-6 inches of water. Would it be okay to like, suddenly change to almost all the way filled, like yours?

  • My red eared slider name is squirt!xD

  • how long do you keep the uv light and the basking light on

  • @daydream898 The filter on this tank was a Whisper 40i internal filter.

  • how many gallons is this tank????!!!

  • @daredevil50997 This particular tank is 30 gallons. He's since been upgraded to a 60 gallon aquarium.

  • My red eared sliders name is squirt too :)

  • do i need a Heater for my red ear slider, hes in a 10 gallon tank

  • @21themike From a Google search: || "Red eared sliders need to have their water temperature kept above 70 degrees. From what I've read, 75 to 80 is the best temperature. Buy a thermometer that sticks to the outside of the turtle tank. Put it below the water level on the opposite side of the tank from where the underwater heater is. If the water gets too cold this can make your turtle sick." ||

    Hope that helps :)

  • I love how you're talking about all this technical tank stuff and he's just swimming around all carefree and happy :)

  • Ahhha my turtle is called squirtle

  • This is awesome! I want my tank to look like this.

  • Do u have to fill it up with water like that? Could you do like sand then a tub of water? Because i would rather see my turtle out of the water and on sand instead of swimming. Nice video. :)

  • how much was the filter and can res live with out a filter and how long

  • Squirt is one LUCKY res! Your a good mama!!

  • I've seen this turtle on the turtle forums :D

  • real nice setup i love ur turtle, is the sand hard to clean out?!?!

  • @Turtlegirl5678 No, the sand is very easy to clean out using an aquarium siphon. Debris and other waste just lays on top and I skim the siphon over it and it sucks it right out.

  • Great job, good to see somebody taking good care of their RES! Squirt is cute!

  • love the set up!! I have a RES whos name in Squirt lol and hes about the same size! Also have a YBS who is around 4" long, and is named mr bigglesworth. They are in a 20g tank right now, and will be getting a 60 soon.. Good job on the set up!
