There's no reason to feed live. Feeding your Tegu should be about feeding not about entertaining yourselves with the suffering of another life. Please be humane to the prey you give. It's not necessary to do it this way.
You can entertain yourself without causing pain and suffering to an animal. If this is what it takes to satisfy you then you are surely in need of some serious mental medical help.
