the story about Frank reminds me of what I had heard about Harrison Ford working at a studio as a carpenter when George Lucas was starting the Star Wars project....I think I should get a hot dog stand or some sort of peripheral job near a movie studio if these creators are so influenced by inconsequential things

This might be the best interview I've seen with Lynch. Wasn't sure at first (with the interviewer) but it turned out really great. And I warmed to the interviewer

I love the part where Lynch talks about Philadelphia...David is such an odd man... so normal, so straight, such a WASP...and he's teh biggest freak in the world...mainly I think because he's so cooly and intelligently observant..I can't imagine him drunk..

"The Straight Story" was exactly what Lynch needed in his career. He need to make a "straight" movie to prove to people that he really is a legitimate artist who has a right to be as abstract as he wants to be.
