that looks like a berg setup to me. I have seen many vw's with this setup making more than 500 hp. - the blower scoop but i like it anyway, gives it a rat-fink feel. and vw can be both powerful and reliable, but it won't be cheap.

here's and old saying that is true for vw's and most people who tinker with thier cars: of these 3 you can only choose 2 when doing a build:

1.fast

2.cheap

3.reliable

@dunejumper1995 all i can say is that, its atleast 2-3k for the turbo and setup. who knows about the nos, and and engine built to accommodate the turbo 3-7k depending on size. and transmission with higher gearing 3-6k. these are just estimates tho

Surprise crap: 1000 dollars

Do it proper, run an intercooler. You can push more boost, get more power.

But be careful- VWs arent like other imports!

It is more expensive, indeed... But, it is a more modern approach for a vintage VW engine. Although they really don't need EFI, seeing as they are GREAT on gas..

Turbos often create overheating problems in water cooled cars, VWs are air cooled, and which isn't as efficient. Maybe it works great, but I would expect overheating problems. I would still do it if I found the parts cheap though, it looks killer.

Wow the 4bbl carb doesent even look like it's hooked to anything but the turbo.. and it's hooked to the bottom of the carb.... all other turbo systems i've seen goes to the top, whare on this you've got a ram air thing.. what's the point in that when you've got turbo... i don't wanna say it, but this thing looks like a mock up.
