The place is beautiful, but the atmosphere of religious bigotry in this totalitarian state is revoltingly obnoxious, and you can feel it even from hotel staff, especially male.
It is high time we who would spend our money there, went elsewhere, and show these stone age cretins exactly what we think of their religious intolerance.
How they got away it for so long, I'll never know.

Freedom of religion is restricted significantly. The law prohibits the practice by Maldivian citizens of any religion other than Islam. are you kidding me?!!! a place like this really exists,i wish i could at least just visit, but its pretty expensive, not very easy to go there from poorer european countries
just returned from Maldives and Sri Lanka -- a peaceful and exciting adventure the differences in both places made for the perfect combination of culture and relaxation the beaches do not disappoint while the snorkeling near the resort was a great as the expeditions highly recommend day trip to Male interesting being in a Muslim country unique experience which will be treasured forever
@cetnik03 I was there for 12 Days it was roughly $6000 per person so if you were to stay 7 days I imagine it would be around $2800 or so dollars a person (depends on time of year and where you get flight from). Stayed at Legends Resort in Moorea. I stayed in the premium sea view villa. I recommend this one because when you wake and go to bed its like you are in a dream. I didnt wanna come back.
I am hoping to either go again or go to Maldives....both seem lke another world. Take a snorkel.
LOved going, only thing I hate is the damn flight, takes long and is annoying, even flying in first class there always seems to be an idiot who sits next to you.
i dont see the point of going on holidays, ive been on a few and it takes ages to get there, costs loads of money and theres nothing to do when u get there anyway
Love the video!! Kuoni have some great discounts at the moment.. the best deals I have found are on airportgatwick.info/book-holidays ? Any other ideas?

i just wanna go there, build a hut for myself...grow myself a little herb plantation and just relax.....that would be my heaven.....i wish i can do that someday.
we are going in september, staying in the diva resort on a half board basis,im worried about the weather and if it is expensive to do activities and is drink expensive?
