I've been taking lessons for two years. I see the advantages of being proficient at G using the 4th finger, but I'm having a really hard time. It feels so awkward, it hurts the hand and wrist muscles, my other fingers cramp up, and my 4th finger (of my left hand) seems to have to press the fret on the outside corner of the nail, rather than the center of the fingertip, at a different angle than the other fingers. Any other advice?
Im having a bit of trouble understanding the right hands job with chords....do you only strum the strings that are being held with the left hand or all of them??
usually there is a diagram that has Xs' and Os' the Xs' mean DON'T play the string...the Os' mean open string....in other words play it even if you aren't puttung ur finger on it.....
