  • Hello I saw Rod in Budapest great show check out europeantourvideos com

  • imho, his first version of this was much stronger. I believe it was on Never A Dull Moment.

  • 13 people prefer the original by Sam Cooke.

I can't say if I prefer one over the other.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of remakes, it causes people to forget who the original singer was.

However, as long as they don't completely butcher the original, I say let the music play on.

  • HAPPY 67TH BIRTHDAY ROD!

  • HOLA ALGUIEN ME PUEDE DECIR COMO SE LLAMA EL ACTOR QUE ES COMICO......DE TANTAS PELICULAS......LOS DOS GROSOS!!!

  • LOVE THIS SONG!

  • Innerspace brought me here

  • @ampelogardenboy Me too!!!

  • i love this song..

  • I wanna party right now! not later, not tomorrow, right now!

  • Just amazing!!!!!! Twisting!! now Camonnn babyyy!!!!

  • Reminds of Innerspace

  • Twisting, Twisting, Twisting The Night Away ♫

  • I have been listening to Rod since I was in my early 20's. Maggie Mae was the first great song. It is many years later and I still believe Rod still has it. Kudos to you Rod for staying in touch.

  • Thanks mate. Nice remembering of 80s movie Innerspace.....

  • Martin Short is such a great actor!

  • Is this avalable on any album? i realllllly want to get hold of this version!

  • super

  • Love it! *****

  • I love this song...it's a LOT of fun! :-)

  • Innerspace is one the best movies ever made!

  • Love Rod! Great Song!

  • sam cookes was much better.

  • I hope I look half this good when I turn 66. Love this song too!!!

  • @tsjrlover - he wouldn't have been 66 when he made this promo video but he does look and move very good for his age.

  • @tsjrlover I hear ya! What a GREAT version and a real honour to the late great Sam Cooke, dang the 80's were a good fun time, what happened...?

  • Goodness gracious! Why can't they just leave the originals alone????

  • Not as good as the Sam Cooke version but Sam Cooke was AMAZING

    Still a decent cover

  • Jack Putter to the rescue

  • Well, you know what they say. Little kids will never get into the REAL oldies unless they can hear somebody THEY know do their OWN take on a song. Then they get in the car or somewhere and the song comes on the kids' new rock-n-roll radio and their mom or dad starts singing along----kids wanna know how they know the song---Mom or Dad drags out their old vinyl and plays the kid some REAL music---now the kid wants to know what OTHER ``old'' music is good--poof new classic oldies fan is born.

  • i don't like the guitar in this song & it can't beat original

  • HAPPY 66TH BIRTHDAY ROD - 10 JANUARY

  • "That was the cowboy!!!" JACK PUTTER TO THE RESCUE!!!!!"

  • blueballsredhair, sam cooke wrote and made the original cover this song... and no one can take that from him (-;

  • @noms3 Read my post. It says right there "original cover." I know it's a Sam Cooke song.

  • The 1972 version was nice but this 80s version is my favorite. He recorded it for the movie "Innerspace" and included it in his Storyteller album.

  • what the fuck is this? when and why did stewart record a shittier version of his original cover? i don't get it, the original with ronnie wood was fucking bad ass, this is some ear raping garbage.

  • @blueballsredhair - maybe you could try that comment again without the bad language !

  • @Butterfly1Blue I think I have to second the original comment... regardless of language

  • @happymeal159 - I guess the answer as to "Why the second cover" lies with copyright and recording issues plus the need to produce a 'poppy' video to keep the record label happy....PS Ron Wood's guitar work on Faces and early Rod albums is amazing - no wonder Micky Jagger dangled a Rolling Stone medal in his face.

  • @blueballsredhair Actually Sam Cooke did the original.......

  • @GrisGrisOnUrDoorStep Of course I know that. I meant the original cover version by Faces. This is absolutely terrible.

  • @blueballsredhair Agreed pal. An offence to the original Rod version.

  • @blueballsredhair I saw Rod last night in Philly so I looked this up. I love this song. I couldn't agree with you more.. Who the hell is backing him on this song? Partridge Family!!! This is a washed out pop version. Ronnie Wood smokes on the orginal version. This verison sucks. But still love ya Rod...Great show last night.

  • @blueballsredhair I think was the version used at the end of the movie Inner space with Martin Short. While I agree re the music track, I reckon Rods vocal on this is a little better than his first attempt.

  • @blueballsredhair I think was the version used at the end of the movie Inner Space with Martin Short (which you can obviously see in this video). While I agree re the music track, I reckon Rods vocal on this is a little better than his first attempt.

  • @blueballsredhair

I think it's kinda obvious why this guy's got "blue balls"....

  • @blueballsredhair The reason is it was the THEME SONG for the movie InnerSpace with Martin Short,

and it was released to PROMOTE the MOVIE! I personally like both Rod's and the Faces versions equally. IMHO

  • Not to offend anyone here but, this version is weak compared to the one off "Never a Dull Moment".That version had Ron Wood and The Faces and they just tore it up.This video lacks that same spirit.

  • More than excellent. More than cool. I'll be twistting for night and day away. Anyway... Love Rod!

  • soz but this sucks sam cooke forever although i love the bring it on home you send me live thats awesome rod stewart best hes ever done i think

  • Holy shit! Was that Michelle Johnson as Martin Short's movie date??

  • Great Song

  • Excuse me.

I have earched this song for a long time.

    But i can't find it.

I really want to collect this MTV.

So...if you can send it to me,this is my e-mail:p90363@yahoo.com.tw

No matter what your answer is,thank you.

  • Excucsse me.

I want to ask you if you can send this MTV to me.

    My email is p90363@yahoo.com.tw

  • I like Sam Cooke's better.

But Rod has a very nice voice!

  • @Lakrits3 anything Sam Cooke did is the best, but Ol Rod is such a pure rocker that he comes a close second here.

  • I was at the concert in Nuremberg. Was the youngest and he smiled at me. (:

    Stand in the front row.

    Was very, very good ♥

  • Yeaaaa Roddy you twist it for me....lol..

  • @nadenka64 - your comment made me laugh.

  • Youtube Documentary - They Sold Their Souls For Rock And Roll

  • roll up

  • IT IS BEATIFUL FOR EVER THE KING

  • Great song...............

  • Everybody into the miniaturizer!!!

  • Just got done watching "Innerspace" I like the scene where they dance to this song!

  • haha i remember this from innerspace, that was a badass movie

  • @Tokopol Just watched it. Good movie, good song.

  • Not near as good as Sam Cookes but still a fine effort !

  • @MrStruth I am inclined to agree. This is a more relaxing somewhat slow dance version, where as Sam Cooke's had some energy behind it.

  • This is miserable and poppy. Sam Cooke is turning in his grave. There is absolutely no soul or passion in this.

  • Hold on Tuck and Lydia cause Jack Putter is to the rescue

  • Even if Rod will never be Sam, and no one, I mean NO ONE in the world will ever beat Sam, Rod's voice is not bad, and has his charm, a different charm, but I must say that the instrumentation of this version really sucks!! It's too bad that the instrumentation ruins the song that could be cool with a better instrumentation...

  • @difolk i kindda like this song, is that wrong??

  • great cover, go Rod!!!11!!!1

  • great cover

  • he's awesome, but i gotta say sam cooke does a better job

  • 2:07 - apparently the motorbike was unintentional but they left it in the film anyway as it made the scene better!

  • Rod Steward!! He is so great!! Thanks for sharing!!

  • LOVE Rod Stewart!!! Great video!!! Thanks a lot for sharing!!!

  • BLAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA, My name is Tristan and my science teacher calls me Twistin the night away. Blahaha and he told me to listin to this

  • HAPPY 65TH BIRTHDAY ROD

  • I hate to sound blasphemous, but I actually Like Rod's version better than Sam Cooke's. Not to take anything away from Sam(his version is great),but Rod's cover just has a "fun" air to it that sticks in your head. That, and the girl at 40 seconds is just too adorable ! ;) lol

  • @Wagriffith HEATHEN! REPENT AT ONCE!

just kidding. both versions are good in their own ways but in my opinion, neither is outright better than the other.

Of course there are covers which blow the original out of the water (in my opinion)

All Along The Watchtower - The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Sorry Bob, but those guys took it to a whole new level.

Respect - Aretha Franklin. Dear Mr Otis Redding, Aretha just made that one beyond belief.

La Bamba - Ritchie Valens - "traditional song rockified"

  • real nice song!!!!!! i love it!!!!!!!

  • GREAT ROD!!!

  • I can't figure out what's better this song, or Forever Young or Young Turks. Please comment. I love all 3 of those songs and it's tough as hell for me to choose. UGH

  • Please don't be offended by what follows.

IMHO YT is better lyrically and melodically, however the clip jives me (in a bad way). FY has an unfortunate video clip and is a rather drab song, IMHO. TTNA is the best rock out song of the three, especially with its re-release and the awesome and deservedly, ridiculing dancing provided by Martin Short. If I was deaf I would say TTNA. If I was blind I would say YT. If I suffered from both unfortunate afflictions I wouldn't mind FY.

  • he is fucking class tho

  • Yeah !!!! =)

  • Great video 5*****

  • oh yes i love this so much....sorry im commenting again...its just so great..love rod!....thanks again another 5*****
