Thanks for posting. I want to install the Magpul asap adapter too. When I saw the nut was staked I started wondering if I want to do it myself. I might try one of the Troy sling mounts that screws on over the buffer tube instead.
thanks man, i had the same issue with my castle nut, i have the same tool that you have, i was putting out like crazy and it wouldnt move, i used a hammer too to gain leverage
also, i just got work table from harbor freight for 99 bucks thats great for cleaning and working on firearms, i had a coupon for 20% off also, had it shipped to my house, it weights 91 lbs and includes light and plugs, so with the discount and applying shipping it was $105 . you can find the same coupon just google it. if you want something like that. also you can see a video on youtube of it, its blue.
My favorite part of the video is wear you DIDNT show us how to remove the buffer tune. Maybe you should rename the video to "some jackass that talks about buffer tubes and doesn't give any useful information." Thanks for wasting our time.
Dude thanks for the invite, which I will accept as soon as I get to a proper computer, my iPhone has limited YouTube access, please don't judge me by my videos!! My bro has access to my account and sticks unreal crap on it!!
Hi, yeah just noticed the hammer in the lower reciever, you in the army?
Is that a magpul pistol grip?
I live in Ireland and airsoft is about as close to the real thing as we get, you can have a .22 and a 12 gauge, they recently took handguns off us!
Would love to visit America and shoot some real guns for a change, if you are in the army take care of yourself I am quite aware of the situation you guys face. John
@cheezday ....Nope not in Army. I'm too damn old to even join at this point. All my firearms are for fun and self-defence. Go to my channel and check out some of the other videos I have, you might like them. This AR15 hobby is a addiction to say the least. Fun as hell though!!!!
I got one off eBay that has the A1-A2 grooves. Just gotta flip it over. It works well. Its just very small, so I hope I dont lose it. Paid $10 bucks for it.
I took my buffer tube off and lost the little spring and detent for the takedown pin and I think I lost the safety detent when I put a new pistol grip on. I have replacement parts coming in the mail, but I still feel like a moron......
Excellent! I'm glad you finally got that thing off. I was a little weary to tell you to put some muscle into it, just because I didnt want you to break anything. I know I had to really crank on my castle nut when I first did it. When I put my castle nut back on, I never used locktite and just hand tightened it. No problems or issues ever with it backing out on me and makes it so much easier if I ever want to remove it again. Good luck on the ASAP install!
I think this is your second shout out today!!! I just watched Pete's new video. BTW I ordered a PT1911 today. Should be here in around 2 weeks. Thanks again!!!
Yeah man, I really like my PT1911. No problems with mine at all and after shooting I check the right side safety and its still on there tight. Its a definetly a good shooter. I hope you get a good one.
Good vid fellow AR owner. Wait tell you need to replace the front detent pin and you shoot the TINY spring and pin across the room.....and your sitting there like now wtf do i do
Just take your time. And pay attention. You can pretty much do anything to an AR yourself. I built my first one by myself. And its really rewarding to build you own
Thanks Man. I plan on buying a stripped lower from Spike Tactical at the up comming show for around $80 bucks. I'm gunna build it slow with quaility parts then get a complete piston upper. A nice project to work on over time.

Love the honesty of your installation and description of yourself...
Just went through this myself...which is why watched. To see if you had any tips...None that I hadn't figured out for myself.
