maybe we're all lucky and get to see this released (along with Feral Witchchild) on the new album or another Hyperdub comp. I've got my fingers crossed here cos I think this tune is just too damn good and Feral Witchchild has so much potential that he's gonna have to release.
lets try and define it. please i must define it. i cant stand just listening to it without defining it, i think its hyperdubfunkstephop / ambientgroovedoutdarkbounce.

Are you mad? furture garage?! Its hyper dub! Its a type of dubstep, if you have any of his abulms its says on the back HD in a werid logo, which stands for hyperdub
Hyperdub is just the name of the label bro. That would mean every different label would be considered a genre. So if your a metal band on Atlantic Records your genre would be Atlantic? Besides it doesn't matter some artists can't be classed in one genre i.e. Burial.
Right Seriously now Burial is some of the most immense music i have ever heard in my life the random sounds mixed in wiht the various frequency changes gotta love it, also agree with burial deserving its own genre it is by far unique enough
i agree with PureHyperdub on that, dubstep is suppost to be underground and u gotta be able to appreciate music to like dubstep and burials tracks...but now the likes of snoop and big american names are taking dubstep and putting it to their own and personally i think ruining it...id hate to see dubstep commertialised and americanised...keep it to the dark side of london
All art is ripping off those that came before. There's so few true originals in music...especially electronic music which can be ripped off by any reasonably skilled producer. But Burial is inspiring other outstanding artists to produce superb dubstep tunes; Luke Vibert and Skull Disco are fine examples of that.
It's worth saying that it's also moving out of London without ever touching the mainstream. I've been to nights in Bham and Cornwall that have just as good a vibe :)
o my days i found people that appreciate solid music! 200% agree that burial isnt bound to just dubstep and deserves his own genre, the main reason i love burial (and dubstep in general) is that its so orignal but i am worried there is a lot of remixs floating around that are labelled "dubstep" but im thknn "hmmmm", i love dubstep because its underground and u can't fake it, and im worried as its popularity will grow it will become saturated with chavs, i hope i'm proven wrong...
No, musics for anyone it's just annoying when dickheads start raping good music, do posh students listen to Burial aswell? i didn't know that, it's always seemed to be drum n' bass and ambient fans to me.
dubstep, like caspa and rusko, without any prejudice against them, they are good producers are unfortunately ravaged by scum, however it did originate in croydon apparentely, thats bollocks though.
What a crazy track.. I am officially calling Burial a genre. It's so unlike anything else I've heard. I know it's "considered" dubstep but it's so much more dynamic and emotional and unexplainable and just amazing. I've shown him to practically everyone I know and everyone loves it. No matter what music they listen to
so trueeee, i prefer Burial having my own meaning close to me rather than just describing him as a dubstep artist x, his depth compromises all that stereotype
no idea, bro. after he releases his next album (which is in the works...) i think he should just make a collection of unreleased and b-sides and incorporate them all into a rarities collection album on itunes.
I recently discovered black secret technology (I had heard gerald simpson's early stuff with 808 state & of course voodoo ray). I thought, "wow, what he did with vocals & the atmosphere are similar to burial. probably an influence." I guess my instincts were correct. anyone who digs burial should check out that album, by the way (a guy called gerald - black secret technology).
What TT have you got? Please don't play this on a mixing desk like a lot of other prats I see. I use a RegaP3 with a Grado PGold and a stock arm, it's a pretty good set up for this style.
