  • Must have mooore

  • 9 dislikes ?? Surely the dislike button here should be changed to the....I just dont understand button !

  • Why isn't this longer?

  • Oh my days... absolute madness!

  • i wish there would be an x-step Avant-garde

  • it`s not a genre. it`s not music - it`s pure emotion. it`s burial.

  • Ambient dubstep, future garage, techno, house, trance, fuckit who cares what its called?! just listen to it and quit yur bitchin'!

  • As it plays you get the rush flowing through your veins spreading over your entire body. The engergy in this track is so intense! It is an absolute crime that the majority of the best Burials tracks never get released and he knows it :) always leaving us wanting more

  • gettin lifted in the staircases. peace to all incarcerated scarfaces

  • pirate radio sound

  • im want to listen full "feral witchchild"...

  • FOR ALL THE BURIAL LOVERS. CHECK IT OUT!!! Nek - love me | apologies from ART POWER (remix)

  • burial is a beast

  • ya but I think its the genre too, but who cares his music is awesome

  • Well deadmau5 carved out his own signature sound and had immense sucess with it (like Burial) so lets go make a genre called 'deadmau5'

    -rolls eyes-

  • this genre already exists, if you decode the front cover of his first album called Burial; this genre is called hyperdub

  • Is that Burial in the picture?

  • I love the sound of the empty shell cases hittin the floor, like death is resident, hiding in his tracks.

  • pure jungle feel to this tune. big up burial.

  • We love to see ppl commenting...come check out the uploads and subscribe to the page...Dubstep filth n ting...We appreciate...Its for the love of Dubstep

  • Thats way to fast for Burial.

  • maybe we're all lucky and get to see this released (along with Feral Witchchild) on the new album or another Hyperdub comp. I've got my fingers crossed here cos I think this tune is just too damn good and Feral Witchchild has so much potential that he's gonna have to release.

  • Would have been his best work so far.

  • lets try and define it. please i must define it. i cant stand just listening to it without defining it, i think its hyperdubfunkstephop / ambientgroovedoutdarkbounce.

  • @bludshifta

"I don't play the trendy genre game. Music should be made, listened to and played based on a feeling and the quality of the piece and not how it's categorized" Sharam, Deep Dish

  • sik

  • Holy crap I hope he does some more hardcore shit on his next release like this.

  • please burial RELEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • Burial take your hands of this gentlemans

  • how do you know that?

  • @PunkyLemming hahaha jokes

  • Burials stuff usually has that rich peacefull yearning vibe but this one is downright militant.

    I like it.

  • h♥t

  • garage is a genre which is more Burial than dubstep is, although he does have a bit of dubstep. but he rises out of garage roots and his beats are DEFINITELY garage rather than dubstep

  • amazing

  • Hard and Phat!

  • Hyperdub is just the name of the label bro. That would mean every different label would be considered a genre. So if your a metal band on Atlantic Records your genre would be Atlantic? Besides it doesn't matter some artists can't be classed in one genre i.e. Burial.

  • yeah that's the label

  • kode 9's sets are deep, they scare me...

  • future garage isnt a genre.

  • Right Seriously now Burial is some of the most immense music i have ever heard in my life the random sounds mixed in wiht the various frequency changes gotta love it, also agree with burial deserving its own genre it is by far unique enough

  • there is a burial genre now called Future Garage, look for stuff from people like pangaea,untold,trg..

  • @PunkyLemming Submerse is class aswell

  • @PunkyLemming it should be called ambient dubstep, its what it sounds like to me

  • @PunkyLemming it was classed as dubstep or post dubstep or summin o.O

  • couldnt agree more, i've never agreed with his genre being under dubstep, he's truly a burial genre

  • @jevo1234 absolutly right

  • i agree with PureHyperdub on that, dubstep is suppost to be underground and u gotta be able to appreciate music to like dubstep and burials tracks...but now the likes of snoop and big american names are taking dubstep and putting it to their own and personally i think ruining it...id hate to see dubstep commertialised and americanised...keep it to the dark side of london

  • All art is ripping off those that came before. There's so few true originals in music...especially electronic music which can be ripped off by any reasonably skilled producer. But Burial is inspiring other outstanding artists to produce superb dubstep tunes; Luke Vibert and Skull Disco are fine examples of that.

It's worth saying that it's also moving out of London without ever touching the mainstream. I've been to nights in Bham and Cornwall that have just as good a vibe :)

  • no, theyre two very odd examples

  • o my days i found people that appreciate solid music! 200% agree that burial isnt bound to just dubstep and deserves his own genre, the main reason i love burial (and dubstep in general) is that its so orignal but i am worried there is a lot of remixs floating around that are labelled "dubstep" but im thknn "hmmmm", i love dubstep because its underground and u can't fake it, and im worried as its popularity will grow it will become saturated with chavs, i hope i'm proven wrong...

  • I get you yeah, I strongly doubt chavs are gonna move to Burial though, they wouldn't appreciate it which is a good thing!

  • what, like its only supposed to be for posh students? bollocks.

  • No, musics for anyone it's just annoying when dickheads start raping good music, do posh students listen to Burial aswell? i didn't know that, it's always seemed to be drum n' bass and ambient fans to me.

  • lol @ feeling the need to make a distinction between dnb / ambient fans and "posh students"

  • Lmfao, nice nice.

That was the impression i was starting to get when reading the comments too, and then i read your comment and was like "Bingo"

  • @onesy1 Well they're all different things aren't they? you fucker

  • dubstep, like caspa and rusko, without any prejudice against them, they are good producers are unfortunately ravaged by scum, however it did originate in croydon apparentely, thats bollocks though.

  • dude i totally agreee burial is a genre lol :) SIK TUNE !

  • What a crazy track.. I am officially calling Burial a genre. It's so unlike anything else I've heard. I know it's "considered" dubstep but it's so much more dynamic and emotional and unexplainable and just amazing. I've shown him to practically everyone I know and everyone loves it. No matter what music they listen to

  • so trueeee, i prefer Burial having my own meaning close to me rather than just describing him as a dubstep artist x, his depth compromises all that stereotype

  • how did you get hold of this track?

  • Pretty sure this ones from the South Burroughs EP from him, no? His snares sound like ninjas stick fighting in a cave.

  • lmfao it does xD ahahaha

    awesome song i need MORE!!

  • DO WANT

  • so this isnt burial? anyone know what it is?

  • track from kode 9

  • do want

  • Why can I hear 'lean forward' by DMZ?

  • Comment removed

  • Wether its him or not. This sounds amazing.

  • Burial himself just posted here, what a honor.

  • he did?

  • No he didnt.

  • aha

  • because he chooses not to.

  • please please let me know where i can get all the unreleased tracks

  • become friends with burial and kode9

  • WIthout being a fandom-wanker-

    Goodluck with that

  • That didn't stop Zomby did it? Dude put a blantant mock-Burial Tune on his EP. I'm SURE Kode saw that...

    "...."

    "What?"

"... I'm the man who put out Burial, remember?"

"Hey, it's not that much like his stuff."

    "..... Suuuuuure."

  • @CrowleyHead except zomby releases on hyperdub lol

  • Burial makes great music, the only music I can listen to almost 24/7. timeless & epic!

  • reminds me of "Quoth" from Polygon Window (and maybe Quoth's "hidden" mix) but like on the dubstep tip. def kode9's style.

capped off my collection of his discography last weekend.

i'm so stoked on the next album dropping.

  • There is amazing something Buriel.Love listen to it music

  • kode9 [dot] blogspot [dot] com / 2007 / 05 / mix-for-sonar-festival {dot} html

  • that link was for DANKA13.

after you go to it, wait for the record and BUY IT.

  • is he releasin this one then? thought it was supposed to be on untrue and just didnt make it? would love to buy it

  • no idea, bro. after he releases his next album (which is in the works...) i think he should just make a collection of unreleased and b-sides and incorporate them all into a rarities collection album on itunes.

  • ive got all of Burial's albums fuckin amazin!!! got me mates onto this as well

  • Good 4 u!! lol

I thot the Untrue album was the first one from Burial.

  • His first was self titled. It's still good but you can tell he found his sound with the Untrue album.

  • its from kode9's set at sonar

  • Burial said in an interview all he listend to for a year was black secret technology. Hearing this piece you can really tell he did just that :D

now bring on his DJ Kicks album!

  • I recently discovered black secret technology (I had heard gerald simpson's early stuff with 808 state & of course voodoo ray). I thought, "wow, what he did with vocals & the atmosphere are similar to burial. probably an influence." I guess my instincts were correct. anyone who digs burial should check out that album, by the way (a guy called gerald - black secret technology).

  • yes great album and i'm not huge on the dnb scene but this is a pretty solid album and you can definately here the influence

  • Anyone know when this is out?

  • this is the first time I have listened to anything like this...just heard a little on the Mercury awards. It is excellent.

  • this is an unreleased bruial tune, this is the only clip of it in existance. go listen to the albums, it will blow your mind

  • this is proper amazing

  • he simply strokes me

  • am i back at helter skelter? love it top TUNE>>>>>>

  • it fucking kills me that all he uses to produce is soundforge

  • how do you know that

  • he says in a Wire interview, it's a good read that interview

  • yeah, the fact that he uses sound forge with no sequencers or drum machines, insane

  • fuck yes! an utter romantic, rare today. loved that interview

  • Why did someone put a thumbs down for a question?

  • sup steppo, its yong lololol

  • This is sick.

Sounds like some dark 1992 hardcore or something. I know he draws influences from hardcore / jungle anyway.

    Real nice

  • Aaah nice, a new burial song!

    Like this a lot..

  • Man I love these. I wish Burial would release more of these darker tunes. Any word on a third album??

  • i cant find this, starewell or unite anywhere!

  • you wont u can get unite on future dubs 1

stairwell and speedball2 are on mixes by kode9

  • What TT have you got? Please don't play this on a mixing desk like a lot of other prats I see. I use a RegaP3 with a Grado PGold and a stock arm, it's a pretty good set up for this style.

  • Yes this is from the Kode9 @ Sonar 2007 set. You can hear Mala - Lean Forward in the background during the quieter bits of this rip.

  • yup , the only place where u can find stairwell is kode9 sonar 2007 mix ...

  • It's probably a DIFFERENT mix.

  • Oops, actually I got it wrong here. Apologies my man.

  • Fuck me, got it wrong.

  • this is not from the mah kode9 mix.

fuck knows how the op found this...

  • Could you possibly come across any more as an elitist tool?

  • Yes, I could. I wasn't even trying.

As a matter of fact Í misread his post so I apologized for that instantly.

So the first sentence of my original post does have an appliance after all: you.

  • Would you imagine that other clever 'IN THE KNOW' people like yourself would share the same opinion, that I should really "learn to f*cking read"?

It's typing the 'IN THE KNOW' part that made me think you were an elitist tool, whether you got it right or wrong it doesn't matter.

  • Ha.

This is NOT from the Kode 9 mix (which was on the Mary Ann Hobbs Show (hence MAH in my original post).

A version of this was indeed in the MAH Kode9 mix, but it was not as isolated as this and was part of a blend of tracks. This is much more complete than the stuff I heard on the MAH mix.

Anyway, it is all good mate. Just calm down a bit yeah? Peace! :)

  • Complete??!!! it's only a minute twenty long! :)

  • great track

  • Is that Burial in the photo?

  • were did you find this?

  • sure it must have been taken from the mix kode9 did on radio 1, for mary anne hobbs show

  • oooof.

    wonderful.
