If you are used to a vented dryer and already have a set up for a vented I'd stick with a vented. From own experience our vented Hotpoint TDL31 dried in 50 mins, now our beko condenser takes 2+ hours for the same load so it can be a pain when we do lots of washing
If you dont use the dryer much i would suggest like a cheap and cheerful Indepoint or White Knight or something. Comet & Currys both have an Integrated White Knight for £199.99
yeah get a tvf770. my tvf760 is 2 years old and no signes of scrapeing or squeeking, could do with a service though (hoover out the inside of the machine)
or a WK
definatly not a hoover or candy, just take far too long to dry
My best advice would be a vented tumble dryer. The Hotpoint ones are very good and not expensive. From my grandma and uncles opinion who both switched from vented to condensing ones weren't happy. They say Condensers take much longer, and some venteds are actually more energy efficient if you look and compare capacity rating plates and EU labels.
Look out for another Creda, might still sell them!
@marthalover4ever they are good, my TVM560 (6kg of yours) has put up with loads of overloading when my mum uses it and its never had a problem.. no squeaking or scraping no wet left. its getting on 4 years now!
@Mielefan100 lol. i woud say aqualtis because they are probably cheap enough as ultima washers themselves can be like 300 quid. if not i would say a bosch or a siemens.
@dragfish100 Well, heater went funny, wasn't heating as well as it should, then would almost over heat when put on again, and then took the back cover off, cos there was black soot with metal filings, turns out the bearings/shaft are more or less disintergrating so to speak :/
Hmmm... well. Apparently, we're not replacing the Creda, it's going to the garage instead to be used for emergencies? :(

Some thoughts:
Bosch - no reverse action, tangle large loads, results in some items not drying properly.
Hoover - pretty good with big drum, but seem flimsy
White knight - good old school design, made in uk, fast at drying.
Indesit company dryers - made in uk, best for value for money, do a good job.
