  • very cool

  • Mr Bean´s dad?

  • one of my idols and heroes mr blackmore

  • I have never heard Blackmore speak about his days with Joe Meek; I think he knows some secrets he doesn't want to speak about....

  • RITCHIE IS THE BEST GUITARIST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • There are shades of his unique style that would emerge. It is very rough and unpolished but the bizarre playing suited the song. Sort of like surf guitar on amphtemines

  • Great photo of Ritchie Blacmore.

I am studying his career from The Outlaws through to Blackmore's Night.

Born in 1945 and still playing and writing great music today!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • @OzzInter AND just had a baby!

  • sometime's, he didn't look happy. let's remind him of the solo that we heard on 'highway star' from 'made in japan'. maybe if he got back to inventing some of our most cherished riff's ... oxymoronic, sure but you know what i'm sayn.

  • Ritchie Blackmore is a highly talented musician , and quite the adept influence - thief. He did'nt have Jeff Beck's unique style, yet by 1972, he had single-handedly created heavy / shred lead guitar. Without Blackmore? no Priest, Maiden, and no Scorpions either, probably not many 80's classical/ shred-masters..

  • He did not need a wig back then..lol!

  • very smile photo

  • Mr Bean !!!!

  • @risingson - finally someone with some sense! my only argument is that Blackmore couldn't carry Beck's guitars. look I liked Blackmore back in the day. bought Shades of Deep Purple on vinyl when I was like 12, then Book Of Talieson, etc. but wth has he done since 1980? all I've ever heard is recycled licks in everything he's ever done, whereas Beck, Satriani, Vai, Tabor, Keaggy - those guys get better and more innovative every year.

  • @1971Goldtop am tempted to argue, but then again - this is your opinion and I respect it.

  • @BlackCrowNavajo I appreciate that. Just got home from work so I'm too tired to argue but I'd be happy to hear your opinion. lol.

  • @1971Goldtop my reason to argue was to possibly hear something new and interesting from the opposing opinion. I myself bow the head to Beck, Satriani, Vai, but the only "rival" - to me personally, of course, has been Jimmpy Page. For almost 40 years I can not ultimately make my mind which of these two I like the best. Why? Because I think that thy created the basis for what eventually evovled itno what we call virtuous rock-guitarist now - courtesy to the same Vai, Satriani and some others.

  • @1971Goldtop overrated ? he is indeed a tool but the man is as good as any player I have heard except maybe Jeff Beck

  • Nice photo! )

  • Ritchie DID play the lead break in '"Just Like Eddie" ...and dont forget to watch the movie "Live it Up" .. with HEINZ, Steve Marriot (Small Faces) and David Hemmings - to name a few. I might put a clip or two on my tube..

  • Just to put the wind up all you Ritchie Fans, It may not be Ritchie, it could be the guy who took over from Ritchie in The Wild Boys (For 100 points can anybody name Him?) The ever elusive Barry Tomlinson.

Though I do Think it's Ritchie.

  • ???are you all def? It´s an awful song, depending on the age it might be ok. Ritchie is my favourite guitar player nowadays.

  • Mr. Bean

  • hard starts bud good starts BLACKMORE

  • He was not born in this planet for sure !! He is the God of guitar. Not a question.

  • @levediagyermeke I doubt anyone was born IN this planet =)

  • Great song indeed!

  • I cant believe i was 3 paces away from meeting Ritchie at " The Manchester Apollo Theatre " back in 1982 and bottled it! A big regret of mine! Long live Ritchie and his Rainbow!

  • Awesome song

  • don't worry it's not Blackmore's music, at that time he just performed in sessions for other bands, he didn't compose it himself

  • isnt he mr bin?

  • They are brothers, look at the California Jammin' video, heheheheheheeh

  • This is great. 'Big fat spider big fat spider yeah yeah'. I just can't stop singing it. I'll definitely check out some more of Deep Purple's stuff.

  • Listen to Ritchie doing a 60s song called 'just like Eddy' as a tribute to Eddy Cochrane

  • he looks like mr. bean

  • look him in his wedding picture. i guess they made the same school. lol

  • The song is pretty cool, isn't it. A bit similar to earley DP's with evans.

  • Or maybe Mr. Bean

  • or maybe Roland Atkinson.... hey!! bean, backadder and atkinson are all the same guy!!

  • Its Rowan Atkinson, not Roland

  • Blackadder...

  • "I've got a problem with my manservant!"

"Well put it on the table and let's have a look at it!"

I think Ritchie is more like Edmund now!

  • Yes, you are right, Edmund Blackadder is not a bad comparison (didnot put that right I am affraid)

  • yes , He is Mr Bean !!

  • Does anyone, besides myself, see a resemblence between Ritchie and Blackadder?

  • only if you have a very crazy fantasy(something that I have)why not?

  • Woo Hoo, Rock On!

  • An interesting piece of historical trivia, strictly for Purplephile who needs to know all he can about the band's members, and their histories.

  • he's not takin shit from anyone...ya know he's pissed just having to play this crap!

  • The record was a Heinz single,Ritchie was just the session guitarist.

  • Lmao sweet song if anyone's looking for this recording I just got it off the iTunes store for 99 cents

  • rainbow301, do you have any blackmore with oldfield or moody blues , because i heard rumors they all did the same clubs and pubs,?

  • Um... you thought the song was actually about a spider? It's used as a metaphor for someone out there trying to get a chick.

  • "man, he even looked pissed off back then"

    Lol.

  • brian setzer?? are you listening??????

  • Agreeeed!

  • wat band is this from coz he played with so many

  • But really not bad vocals

  • huh!

  • the sixties were indeed a strange time.

  • good song

  • where did you get this? great tune

  • Hey Ritchie, couldn't you have gotten a better haircut? Yikes!

  • it was 65 man, he looks like he just got laid off from the beatles and is pissed about it

  • Well, It looks like i'm the only other person who appreciates this.

  • Count me in. I love Blackmores early stuff.
