But dude, I did a conversion just now, if Usian Bolt ran a 40 yard dash (using his 100 meter time, converted to yards, then do a proportion to find time), it'll be at 3.5 second........pretty incredible.
@wallaceX2jc True, but you have to remember that it takes several steps to get up to top speed. There have actually been examples of NFL Combine times in the 40 being faster than the first 40 of a world record 100m sprint, because even though the record sprinter has a higher top speed it often takes them an extra couple steps to get up to that top speed. Not that that makes it any less impressive :-)

But there are reports that Green beat that runner two years previously and there have been talks that Green has had a 100 m of 9.94. Which would be faster than Demps' time.

If you have a back like Maurice Jones-Drew who is relatively untackleable, that's nice for short yard situation. But the guy is not nearly as fast as most defensive backs in the game. So how does he break for huge runs and still take it all they way for a TD? The first thing is that he has WRs that can block, but secondly, he uses his agility and strength to bowl over smaller defenders, and weave between safeties. He isn't fast, but he's damn good.
@jaydajay17 That's all good and well, but DBs catch up with him all the time. Compared to linemen and LBs he's fine, but against the secondary, he struggles to outrun them. Chris Johnson, on the other hand, is just ridiculously fast. He hit 22mph in a run against Oakland on Sunday, and that's with full pads. The Oakland DBs didn't stand a chance.

Demps is fast but I BELIEVE !! Noel Devine is stronger faster & has proved more in the Ncaa Div 1 !! I know ill have every FL fan & etc saying fuck you but please don't feel disrespected cause all yall's championships speak for UF !! But go look at both their video/ monrtages ... Speed is not everything, but God does it help.
If you have a back like Maurice Jones-Drew who is relatively untackleable, that's nice for short yard situation. But the guy is not nearly as fast as most defensive backs in the game. So how does he break for huge runs and still take it all they way for a TD? The first thing is that he has WRs that can block, but secondly, he uses his agility and strength to bowl over smaller defenders, and weave between safeties. He isn't fast, but he's damn good.

@jaydajay17 That's all good and well, but DBs catch up with him all the time. Compared to linemen and LBs he's fine, but against the secondary, he struggles to outrun them. Chris Johnson, on the other hand, is just ridiculously fast. He hit 22mph in a run against Oakland on Sunday, and that's with full pads. The Oakland DBs didn't stand a chance.

You obviously don't know crap, if you drop the ball when you get hit by a lineman twice your weight speed doesn't do much for you. If you can outrun your opponent but can't catch the ball, speed also doesn't do much for you...

@babbypunchers They are pretty close. Trindon's pb is 10 isn't it? I don't know Demps' pb without wind, but I remember seeing him tie Brown's junior 100m record of 10.01.
