Another reason is because Whales are becoming endangered, we kill pigs and cows because there's such a countless amount of them to kill but whales; there's not many of them left now not to mention they're more intelligent than we are so it is a shame to kill such amazing creatures.
Japan is killing whales under regulation of the international whaling commission so they are not endangered.
I would say dolphins which were allowed to live free until its death has been treated more humanely than chicken or pigs that are harvested in tiny cubicles and reproduce only for their child to be eaten.

Many people eat cows because the high-protein compounds in the meat help their diets. The real issue is the extinction factor.
By no means are cows going extinct, so it is okay to eat them. Dolphins are almost endangered, however, and if they do go extinct, biomes can suffer. Bad.

Well the argument with your logic is that dolphins have intellegence nrear equal to that of humans. They are self-conscious creatures with languange and can understand what is happening to them. The intellegence of dolphins is pointed out in this movie, had you actually watched it. Given their intellegence, this slaughter can be equated to the mass muder of humans. This probably doesn't sound right me saying this but anything with a certain level of intelligence shouldn't be eaten in my opinion; I object to killing dogs because they are intelligent and they're pets.
Another reason is because Whales are becoming endangered, we kill pigs and cows because there's such a countless amount of them to kill but whales; there's not many of them left now not to mention they're more intelligent than we are so it is a shame to kill such amazing creatures.

I would say dolphins which were allowed to live free until its death has been treated more humanely than chicken or pigs that are harvested in tiny cubicles and reproduce only for their child to be eaten.

@fulignosa1 The real issue is that it is not necessary to eat dolphin meat. It is a meat that only higher-income individuals can afford, which means that they eat it because they can, not because it is a necessity.
Many people eat cows because the high-protein compounds in the meat help their diets. The real issue is the extinction factor.
By no means are cows going extinct, so it is okay to eat them. Dolphins are almost endangered, however, and if they do go extinct, biomes can suffer. Bad.

Additionally they are being hunted to extinction.
And it's not they 'think a little', it's they are 'conscious, self-aware beings, with an ability to communicate thoughts and ideas which may be greater even than humans'. Basically, it's one step above cannibalism.

They proved the 'whale' meat being sold there was actually dolphin meat. It's purposefully labeled as whale meat because compared to dolphin meat it contains far less mercury and sells for a higher price. Dolphin and whale taste different, so do different types of whales. I also read about Japanese marine research over the last decade and found out that the Japanese barely did anything about whales, no new info, no nothing. I don't understand why people would choose to kill dolphins in the first place. If the only purpose is for them to be eaten then it truly is a pointless act. Dolphin is terrible for you because of the high mercury content. I wouldn't eat it.
Secondly everyone is comparing this to the beef industry. There is a huge difference between the two. One is fast, the other is a slow bloody death.

Well the argument with your logic is that dolphins have intellegence nrear equal to that of humans. They are self-conscious creatures with languange and can understand what is happening to them. The intellegence of dolphins is pointed out in this movie, had you actually watched it. Given their intellegence, this slaughter can be equated to the mass muder of humans. In addition the brutality of the killings is simply horrific and a point of opposition for many.

Dolphins have higher intelligence than many animals but there intelligence doesn't come close to a humans and that is an irrevocable fact that you and every other bleeding heart animal lover will just have to deal with.
killing them doesn't come close to killing humans. also consider this. dolphins are frequently recorded engaging in rape and murder of other dolphins and even humans for no readily apparent reason other than boredom and fun. maybe we should have them arrested

I say we need to arrest the greedy, blood-thirsty corporations who murder and kill for profits indirectly by selling poisonous, contaminated food to humans. They do this knowingly. They are corrupt. First of all you have to change your translator as most of what you wrote makes no sense...!!! I do not personally believe that human is the supreme being and all other animals are stupid. Nature has given each animal some unique characteristics, many of which, are completely unknown to humans. We certainly are cleverer than most of the animals and have found efficient ways to hunt them down but this does not mean that we have the right to extinct them from the face of earth.

the cove is a disgrace. it fuels discrimination/racism by excluding other countries killing dolphins while focusing on a group of ppl or a country..japan. this could've easily been eliminated by also including other countries killing dolphins in a film about dolphin killing.
u wonder why a group of ppl chose to make a film only with japan dolphins as focus when it's not the only dolphins killed or the only animal worth saving.
it's like making an HIV doc and focus only on African ppl.
