Some people might hate him but in my opinion this was the best time to be watching formula 1 when they had the V10 engines. I stopped watching for a few years and got back in to it last season it's getting really boring with Vettel now the lead he has in the championship is just stupid but teams like Mclaren and Ferrari need to catch up with the Red Bull car otherwise people are going to lose interest .

Its not about who wins, its about everybody. V10s were so powerful that you could not overtake... literally. The circuits were getting smaller and smaller for such powerful machines. And of course they were getting more and more expensive...

@stig781 I agree the current v8 is still quick, mainly aided by KERS, DRS, movable rear wing, slick tyres and is still exciting to watch, with alot of overtaking than ever before. With 2 cylinders less, its stll a downsized engine.

2003 are groove tyres, and qualifying with heavy race fuel on board, traction control, no other electronic assistance, pure v10 power.

Not sure how future smaller engines gonna sound like.
