Key Plays from the 3-4 Defense

I keep hearing rumors, that the raiders might run a 3-4 defense. I think they should, since they already have 3-4 prototype tweener players.

in ncaa you gotta spread the defense pull the d line in so u can close the middle gaps and then bring down the covereage, that way the line backers got a better chance on gettin the sack or stoppin the run for a loss of yardage

the 3-4 defense is a way to get more bang for your buck with players. Less talented players that would not cut it in a 4-3 often find success in this system. Its a good alternative to your tampa 2 or regular 4-3 but I still prefer a real defense in the 4-3.

3-4 defenses also struggle vs. quick passing attacks like the west coast offense. Good luck with a 3-4 team vs. Philly, Tampa, Seattle, or Green Bay. They would pick that D apart.

I find 3-4 works better in Madden than NCAA, since most NFL Linebackers are faster :P

A team like Dallas can completely suffocate some people, on defense, when used right lmao

In NCAA, I find 4-3 teams, like USC, tend to have the best defenses, because they're capable of finding natural athletes that fit well into a college 4-3.

3-4 defense doesn't work on Madden. The DL don't get double teamed and don't take on double teams. The NT always goes head up with the C and just gets blocked.

As much as I love the 3-4, t's pretty pointless to have a 3-4 on Madden.

I kinda agree, but I actually like Fire Blitzes out of the 3-4 and 2-4, and you can blitz two men on one side and not totally give up coverage.

the nose guards job is to line up in a zero technique and occupy the center. it "frees up" a line backer to make the play.

The NT is supposed to occupy the A gaps, not just the center. That's why NTs are +330 or +340 lbs., because they need to be massive enough to require two blockers and strong enough get off blocks and make plays in the A gaps.

That doesn't happen in Madden though; the linebackers go head-up with the Guards and the RB slips into between them and the NT. It just doesn't work in Madden.
