  • My new favorite lift

  • Solid Lift! Very very good form.

  • Very nice for such small guy ! Powerful ;)

  • how do i get started?

  • teach me.

  • You make it look so easy! Good job!

  • oops sorry for the spam, i thought my message didnt send through the first time round lol

  • excellent form and very impressive lift!

  • excellent lift buddy, one question, i wanna learn, thats why im asking this, why do u keep the bar so close to ur shins as to cut them, please give a response

  • @TheDannyddd The closer the bar is to your body, the less force is needed to move it because you can apply a great amount of leverage over the bar. Most people who practice cleans effectively either have cuts like these, develop calluses so they don't, or are just far enough (such as 1cm) that they don't touch the shins.

  • @EndlersaurusRex thanks, ya i forgot about that. good point. thats one reason why my cleans suck. check out my 185lb clean and press video lol, and u will see that my cleans suck. but true about the leverage :)

  • @EndlersaurusRex thanks. yup i forgot about that point of the bar needing to be super close otherwise u will not have strong leverage against the bar.

  • @42 seconds, thought u were going to do it 1 armed. LOL. Strong motherfucker, anyway.

  • Dude, you're a machine!!

  • BEAST!great job bro!;-)

  • I wish I would have started learning this earlier. I can bench 315, deadlift 425, but when it comes to squat clean and snatch... man, I can barely go 185-205. Great form, I get inspired by watching this video.

  • You made that look light and easy! But I don't think that shin cut is very hardcore ahaha. Good vid.

  • Quick catch phase!

Like many pro weightlifters(Dimas,Naim,..) i noticed you open your mouth before the lift,Any reason behind it?

I"m striving to learn the oly lifts, any pointers would be immensely appreciated

  • @devak1000 they're taking a breath of air into the body to create tension and stiffness in the abdominal cavity. this enables them to exert more force AND create more stability for the lift to come.

  • whats your max front-squat compared to your squat clean, just curious, i'm trying to get under the bar better and trying to figure out what's realistic.

  • Bro that is fucking sick..... I lifted in 139(of course I cut from 150 or so to get there) and only ever got 265 squat cleaning and jerking. Almost got a competition 315 bench which would have taken the state record. Which had been in place for 30 years or so. Mad props though bro..... Best technique I've seen since spruce creek

  • Nasty..well done.

  • Very Very nice.

Your speed in the catch rocks!

  • Fucking beast!!!!!

  • @SyntaxEddie

    hey there thanks!!!

  • I just started learning this stuff in addition to my general conditioning for my boxing and bjj training...I just do it with 90 lbs hahaha...but I prefere to start low and have a good form

  • @Aimi98

well im glad to hear it...keep up the hard work and youll double that weight in no time!!!

  • nice form

  • Very, very nice...great form and great power!

BTW, how tall are ya? I'm 5'6, 170...you look closer to 170 than 160, in a good way.

  • @playboyv12

im actually a 69kg lifter in this video so 152 pounds now im 180ish and lift as a 77kg lifter

  • @whatchathink141 how is that i am 72 kilo and can't lift that much

  • Just perfect form man. I just started a 12 week cycle. Focusing on FS and C&J. What

do you recommend for practicing the second pull? I'm beginner-intermediate level inbetween. Checks in the mail for the advice!

  • What's the name of your oly lifting shoes man?

  • ya haha sorry i go out to thrush every once and a while

  • @ot6555 no prob..just making sure thats what you meant but yes this is trique haha

  • @whatchathink141 Im a 17 year old boy and I bench 225 and squat around 320-325 and I dont really like power cleans so I do the squat clean and I can only get 155 and thats only sometimes

shouldn't I be able to do more in your opinion

  • @elsalvador131993 im 16 years old and i bench 165 and squat 225, im pretty skinny tho i weight 140 pounds and i power clean 165 i think you should be able to do more it just take practice doing it the right way i went from 125 to 165 in 1 1/2 month

  • Nice is that trig?

  • @ot6555 do you mean trique? haha

  • God damn you're strong. I'm like 225 lbs and I can rep like 225 for 4 or 5. But I don't think I could get this for 1 even on a good day. And I'm 225!!!!

  • @Jessemicheldesign thanks bro and sure you can...just keep up that hard work and do full squat cleans over power leans every now and again

  • Nice form, very nice.

But I was wondering about the powerclean, it must be fucked up for your wrists, even with a perfect form like yourself.

    Or am I wrong here?

  • @pimtodaloof personally it hasnt fucked up my wrists at all but there is a very high level olympic lifter named zack krych who did break both bones in both of his forearms from doing cleans so it is more than possible but far from my mind...first off never use straps to clean...im sure he learned that lesson and as long as your form is perfect and you do it right every time you should be fine...you cant rule out freak accidents like his though...look it up on youtube...the video of it is on here

  • siiiick. can you jerk that?

  • @adoboandryce yes i can jerk that...my best is 151kg clean and jerk...video is on here as well

  • What kind of shoes are those?

  • Nice! I have to admit I was not expecting you to make it look so clean. That looked easy. That's damn impressive, especially considering you don't look like you weigh more than about a buck fifty. Very nicely done, and good luck with the 2012 Oly's.

  • @LayEmOut60

in this video i am 152 pounds or 69 kilos...i now compete and train as a 77kg lifter so my weights are def going to go up fast very soon!!!

  • @LayEmOut60 thanks man...and i was actually about 155 in the video but lifted at 152...now im lifting at 169 or 77kgs but we shall see what happens...not really taking it very serious right now...been plagued with injuries as of late!!!

  • Your form is awesome keep it up!!

  • @zaneleggett

    Thanks Thanks

  • I was wondering, how much would training with clean squats improve my vertical jump? I want to train for basketball. Have you noticed its made a difference in your vertical?

  • @RandomishhOne

ill make it simple for you...im 5'6 and i can dunk a basketball easily! hopefully that answers your question bro! haha

  • no wonder why your so good. The olympics is a big dream and goal! I wish you the best. And ok thanks for the advice. Guess im just kinda scared to bust my ass in my middle of the gym

  • amazing shit. How did you get that explosive? I just started doing poswer cleans today for my football speed workouts. Im a novice in all means of the word....

  • @NinjaLinebacker

thanks bro! and ive been training in olympic lifting since i was 14 and now 27 and on top of that have one of the top olympic wlifting coaches in the entire US so that really helps...i started training in the lifts for wrestling cause thats my sport other than this and i just happened to be really good at it and now im top 3 in the nation at my weight class

  • @NinjaLinebacker

and am making a huge strive for the 2012 olympic games!!! my best advice to you is to keep them up...learn how to do real squat cleans not power cleans...u get more explosion from doing a full squat clean than you will ever get from just doing a power clean not to mention u will do much heavier weights with a squat clean over a power clean!!!

  • great form and explosion!

  • @BUTTE46

    thanks man!!!

  • wow, good, but ur knees cave in a bit.

  • @OhmgrownCron

lol you try doing what i did and also everyone has their own style!!! im bowlegged...so my legs and knees bend differently haha

  • @whatchathink141 I'm sure they don't cave at submax weights, awesome job, man

  • Impressive strength. How tall are you and how much do you weigh?

  • @tempac91 5'6 and 152lbs in this video...now i lift at 169lbs

  • Thank you! someone that actually goes down to the heels, realy impressive stuff, keep the good work up my friend!

  • Inspirational gym lift! Awesome depth during the catch!

  • Nice cleans man. Stance width is similar to that of ilya ilin!

  • @averageboy50 well, pretty close lol

  • finally someone on youtube with good clean form! great job

  • i'm no pro when it comes to o-lifts but i think you could pull ALOT more if you narrowed your stance and explode into the squat you perfectly display...same concept of jumping with your feet closer together OR feet farther apart...i could be completely wrong though..can anyone confirm or atleast correct me if i'm wrong?

  • nah man you make a valid point...but ive tried everything i pull heavier weights with a wider stance...its just the way my body seems to work...everyone is different!!!

  • I'm learning these. Fuck they are harder than they look.

  • now that is nice form!

how many sets and reps are you doing for your exercises now?

I've been lifting weights for a couple years now but unfortunately i was doing the 3 sets of 8 workouts (bodybuilding) and while i was getting bigger i wasn't necessarily getting any stronger

any tips on what i should change if i want to start doing Olympic lifting

  • are power cleans and squat cleans the same thing? they tell me is aint

  • @mrsupergummibear,

No. The difference is where you catch the bar. Power clean is catching the bar in a 1/4 squat and Squat Clean is catching the bar in a full squat. Or at least that's what I have heard....

  • if u hit ur chin ur not doing it right. also yellow plate are 10lb and the other are 45 they that 260 buddy

  • THATS FREAKEN CRAZZYY!!! GOOD SHIT MAN! by the way, how tall and how much you weight?

  • i know i've commented once but geeze dude, you killed it. made it look joke easy.

  • Just out of curiosity, why are your feet so wide apart? I thought that your feet were normally supposed to be in the deadlift-width, i.e. about shoulder-width.

  • it is where i am comfortable pulling from!!!

  • @whatchathink141 That's what I thought, but I was just curious. Great job on the lifts, man. I saw almost all of your videos I; I'm trying to work on my snatch technique but I'm not nearly as good as you!

  • Everybody's technique is unique I've found..

  • ps. nice cleans

  • he's got two forty fives on each side as well as two twenty fives...

    crazy as it is..yeah. it's 325

  • haha thanks bro...glad to see people can add for the most part lol

  • @whatchathink141 for sure dude. hell of a lift!

  • goddamn i wish i had good technique like that

  • there are hundreds of different types of plates that all the look the same yet all weigh different amounts! and why dont you check out my other vids where im doing similar weights...id just love to hear what you think the weights are in those videos too...ur not an olympic lifter so dont put your pathetic assumptions in where they dont belong! peace the fuck out!!!

  • really so at ur school you have four 25kg bumpers and then four 7.5kg yellow plates and when you put those on the bar that is 20kg itself that all adds up to 230 pounds huh? fucking hilarious LOL...dont assume that im using the exact same weights your school has just because they are the same color and may look the same...

  • Totally BADASS man!

Your knees are kinda moving in a bit after the catch, but absolutely beautiful otherwise. Kick ass work!

  • @ShoeOnWoodFloor He can't help his knees moving in. There are Olympians who's knees come in as well.

  • @Eamon thats the great thing about hang cleans/power cleans/squat clean/snatch/clean and jerk. dont gotta be big to big weight. all about explosiveness. Kansas Highschool record in 2006 for Hang Clean was 400 by a 185-200lbs kid.

most impressive thing about this lift is the form! its amazing how much weight a person can build up to doing as long as he has the form to do it with.

  • great form and weight

  • I want to get that good at dropping! Great lifts!

  • man you're a tank

  • @omgthisisgayaccept haha well thanks but i would like to be quite a bigger and stronger and plan to be in the near future :)

  • awesome work. you're not even that big to be doing so much weight. impressive.

my pr on squat cleans is only about 205. power cleans are still higher, but i want to work on my squat cleans so they'll get up higher.

  • beautiful form man. and yes shin scrapes are the bomb

  • how much can you jerk?

  • Great great great form. did it with ease. no squat belt?

  • nope we dont use belts for anything!!!

  • that's some heavy ass weight... fucking impressive

  • Excellent.

  • thanks!!!

  • whats this in kilos i dont have a calculator 150 maybe

  • who cares its a clean and he did it right. people argue about the most stupid things.

  • awesome dude. that is great. like my coach says,"keep those knee OUT, fight them OUT!"

  • i am so fucking sick of people who dont know the difference between a power clean and a squat clean!!!! power cleans are when you dont drop below parallel to catch the bar!!

  • i know tell me about it...its not rocket science lol

  • you could probably do 400lbs easily

  • nice cleans. when we left, my coach says these are power cleans. and hang leans are the same just start with the bar above the knee

  • your coach is wrong then...what i am doing is called a squat clean...while they are almost identical a power clean is still a bit difference...look up videos of both and you will see what i mean!!!

  • Question Please: I know on a power clean you are trying to get full extension of the hip. Given that you are catching the bar so much lower on a squat clean do you still reach for full extension of the hip? Thanks in advance.

  • simply answered...YES!!!

  • so fluid. keep it up!

  • youre right...hence the title says...SQUAT CLEAN!!!

  • Great job man, u done it so smoothly, time 2 up the weights

  • it's not a power clean.

  • very smooth, how much do you weigh?

BTW, doing it right is not hitting your shin but keeping it as close as possible. some of the best lifters do it, but it is accidental. if you hang over the bar a bit longer it will not happen. legs before hips in the pull. overall a nice job. do you do jerks and snatches?

  • thats really good

  • very smooth

  • whos making you work out to that gayy music :)

  • damn your strong!

  • I gotta 330 squat clean just recently. Kinda wondering what I can do with it. I am gonna go to states again next year for weight lifting, but how can I keep going with it after high school? I think my coach has mentioned olympic lifting, but I am not sure. Btw very nice lifts.

  • YES!!! SOMEONE ELSE BLEEDS DURING CLEANS!!! I'm not the only one lol

  • Nice, good form. You need to keep your knees out when you front squat out of your catch. You might be able to just consciously do it, but chances are that your glutes need to get a little stronger to handle the weight. If you can get your glutes stronger, I bet you can put up another 10-20 pounds within the next few months.

  • hey thanks for the comment...yeah i know i need to get stronger in my lower half period...i just took 4 1/2 years off of the sport to wrestle in college so barely even getting back into it right now...hopefully by this time next year everyone will know just exactly who i am haha...still going to nationals though just for shits and giggles this year...peace

  • You wrestle 49 or 57 or what? Where'd you wrestle? Did you not clean for wrestling???

  • i was actually a 141 pounder...i wrestled in oregon...from washington state though...and working out in the weight room as a wrestling team is nothing like working out for olympic lifting lol...we always hit the weight room after practice...by then its pretty much impossible to really lift very heavy if you have any idea but yeah...i pretty much just kept my squats up and thank god i did!!!

  • Well, I don't wrestle in college... but I am from Iowa, I wrestled in HS, my uncle finished 3rd and 2nd in the D3 nationals, my cousin is currently the 125 pound starter for Iowa, and my brother (while he was a baseball player at Iowa) roomed with a D1 national champion for 2 years... so I have an idea of what it's like, but not precisely. I just figured you would keep it up in the off-season at the very least. As a CSCS, I can't think of a lift that's more applicable to wrestling...
