its true, i just graduated from hs, from a school somewhat like this, (not as bad though)about 6 of the teachers that i have had in the 4 years left that year, even the principal decided to go to a elementary school

Again, if any of you out of touch assholes want to try, go ahead. You'll deserve what you get. Fact: 50 percent of teachers quit in their first three years. Fact: when surveyed, most teachers said they quit because of how poor the working conditions were in their schools, i.e. no books, out of control kids, etc. And I just left teaching, with the rest of the 50 percent.Case closed.

just like you, i thought i knew that these kids were being done a disservice and that people who cared and believed could save them. if you want to know the truth, go volunteer at a school, ask a teacher. but, don't assume that these kids come to school to learn, while we kick up our feet and deny them learning. i've seen teachers beat up, spit on, i've been attacked several times and have had to restrain kids. this is propaganda, it's about money.

I watched the movie twice today and each time it brought me to tears of emotion. How fantastic that there are teachers out there that really care about their students and not just the money. I heard a teacher say one time no matter if you learn or not I still get the same pay. Erin Gurwell is an inspiration.
