extremely incredible performance - it's like he knows that this song represented the feeling the crowd had when they related so well to the breakfast club. Thnx 4 posting.
No band will ever re-create distinctive memorable music like this. Simple Minds IS one of a kind. It's never gotten old like most music I've listened to. Always upbeat and unique. My summertime band from '86 when I first heard them on the radio as a kid. It's amazing to hear today's kids enjoying their music too.
Thanks ever so much for posting this video AND this particular version of a great song that brings back a lot of memories. PLEASE don't delete it, as I was definitely one of those who was searching for it. Do you have it on video? I would love to get it on DVD. Thanks from a lifelong Simple Minds fan.
I know this is never the band's favourite song to perform - but they would be hard pressed to try to get away without performing it. It really is a great song and still holds my attention today as much as when it was first released. It certainly holds up far better under scrutiny than "The Breakfast Club" - the film that made it, and the band, supremely famous.
Mon Dieu que c'est bon ! L'une des plus interprétation de "Don't you forget about me" ! Mais pourquoi ne retrouve t'on plus du si bon son de nos jours ?
The most famous song by the Simple Minds, ironically not the band's favourite to perform. But they make a great go at playing it don't they? Thanks for sharing Happy 30th!

U.K. was really an innovative and respected place in the 80's. It was "the" cool place to be.

Why did the band not enjoy playing this historic tune?
RudiGuliani 2 years ago
Possibly because they didn't write it, and it doesn't sound like Jim gets much of a chance to breathe while singing the verses.

THANKS for All your comments, I have had a great read. It would be wrong to delete this video now.
I only posted these videos because I could not find them on Youtube, and maybe someone else was looking too.

Hey this is the best live version of this song! I had this on VHS after MTV showed it on their channel. I wore it out!

I am trying to find somewhere on the net where I can dump the DVD's so people can replace worn out tapes.
