Can you do at-home workouts, since you can't get to the gym?
Try to find a different contractor! Check licensing and all of that unless you've paid in advance, in which case, I would report him and drop his contract. It should not take that long, and he sounds like a douche.
Don't take comments like "chubby" to heart. Family is always good for saying little needling things. Especially grandmothers (well, from what I notice) :p Take it easy. Time passes more quickly than we realize.
