  • Great video, I was about four at the time this was taken, got my first swimming lesson at the Beach Baths.

  • @OfficialChrisBurke Public swimming pool? I understand the quarry is over 400 feet deep. Would be a good diver training facility or even a proving ground for underwater robotic vehicles. Aberdeen as an oil rig base is well placed here. I never went back to Rubislaw since then and was surprised to learn of the quarry's "fate". Thanks for the comments though.

  • Decent video! Thanks for putting it up, put a smile on my face, is interesting to compare aberdeen then wi now. What year did the high rises like marischal court(castlegate) go up? I thought it was the 60's?

    Its good to see some footage of the quarry being worked. You would never guess the sheer depth of the quarry now its flooded.
