Idea is good, but implementation suxx!

If you remove plastic cap from router antenna, you'll see, that antenna itself is about 3cm length above the joint.

It will work better, if you fix your router face-down, straighten the antenna and pull the can down as close to router body, as possible.

this 100% works. the smoothness of the inside of a beer can helps a huge amount. crinkled foil surfaces are actually of very little use. i put my usb wifi dongle in this for GREAT SUCCESS.

/me grooves to the music... 3.75 inches diameter should be the minimum diameter for 2.4ghz. These beer and pop can waveguides might work a bit, but using a 3.75 or 4 inch diameter can will show big increases.
