Oh,..and to settle the disputes,.. The 17HM2 IS based off the longer "Stinger" casing as the length is needed when necking it down to 17. As for not being much different,..consider the fact that you are using roughly the same amount of propellant to force a projectile down a smaller hole. Result? Much more velocity, flatter trajectory,..and with the invent of polymer-tipped varmint rounds,..explosive results. It DOES work as advertised, just more expensive to shoot.
Nice idea! Cool little gun! I can't imagine how much it costs to shoot it though! I have a 10/22 that I converted to 17HM2,..and it's a fun tack-driver! Ammo is just to costly for it to shoot for fun. I've been considering re-barreling back to the .22 as it will kill a squirrel or rabbit just as dead(but, without the AWESOME exit wounds!)
haha i did not even think this was a real gun till I saw it fire. Although I am not saying it is harmless in any way, it is definently something that only someone with money to burn would buy. I can't see any practical purpose other than for the pure pleasure of shooting a automatic .17 cal gun.
5 one hundrenth's of an inch difference between .17 and .22 that is not "barely" at all its more like almost 20% difference what do you know about guns? whats the difference between .357mag and .38 special ?
It's the same difference of a .22 to a .50 completely different buddy. If they are so much alike stick a nice little mach 2 in your favorite .22lr and try to shoot it...
Freud said a fear of weapons was a sign of sexual immaturity.
A psych professor once told me, watch out for men who equate penises with guns - because they've implicitly revealed that they view their own penis as a weapon, therefore they're more likely to be sexual predators or rapists.
Many of these predators have a need to degrade and insult others, out of feelings of inadequacy. I see you like to say degrading things about others on various videos. Maybe you need a therapist.
no he's right Sigmund Freud did say that a fear of weapons was a sign of sexual and emotional immaturity. By simply saying that anyone with a weapon is compensating it seems to me that you are just trying to claim that other people have inadequacies to feel better about your own. By the way, this is a 17hm2 and anyone who owns a gun knows that it is one of the smallest calibers around so your little theory does not hold any water.
@win70supershadow look im not dissagreing with what you say, i love my rifles and im ex millitary. however freud had a fixation with his mother hence the edipus complex, he was also extreamly egosentric hence the policy he had of if i think that way everone else must, and he snorted more coke than you me and every other person that reads this has had hot dinners so i wouldnt nessasarily listen to what he has to say lol.
Sweet, I'm fascinated by psychologists for some reason. I guess because I somewhat wanted to become a psychologist myself. I took psychology in high school and enjoyed it very much. I was also fascinated by Freud's theory of psychology that humans revolve around sex, or something like that....well too much to explain on this comment, you know what I'm talking about though.
Tippmann machine guns, scaled down .22/.17 military firearms. After 1986 he stopped making them when the gun laws changed. If you have a substantial wad of cash, a BATF Class 3, live outside of The Peoples Socialists Republik of Kalifornia and an owner that actually wishes to part with one, you could own it.

no theres a big difference between .22 and .50, .17 and .22 are pretty much the same, but at the same time slightly different
DemonMilkshake 2 years ago
The casing is the same. not the lead bullet there is a huge difference in all calibers
TheNecrophagistGuy 2 years ago
barely a difference?
DemonMilkshake 2 years ago
there is no barely to it they are all manufactured differently. end of.
TheNecrophagistGuy 2 years ago
and then not even the casing is the same between a .17 and a .22 lr
cjleger337 2 years ago
No, the .17 is a stinger casing. So it's the same as that specific one. The hmr is a .22wmr necked down. It's bigger.
mach 2 is a stinger case.
