Marrying a self-admitted pagan and also having such a lack of confidence tells me that Paul doesn't know God's voice well at all. This is normal for most "Christians," but the brethren should beware who they follow. Jn 10:27 says "My sheep hear My voice and I know them and they follow me."
If you don't KNOW the Master's voice, you err greatly to take solace in any preacher's words. Turn from them to God's Word and abide in TRUTH
I've listened to a number of Paul Washer's messages and I even have one favorited.
I give men of God a lot of slack because God didn't call His men to be clones of one another. Paul's message is good for many yet many don't like his message because they see it as promoting legalism instead of what has long been called "know so" salvation.
Their criticism is valid. Paul's own wife testifies that she lived with him for years and wasn't a Christian yet he didn't know this and married a pagan???
I had anxiety attacks because I saw no reason to live if Hell was true. If an eternal hell was so real then it would mean most of my family and good chunk of my friends was on their way there, and it was my job to preach and pray for them to save them 24/7. The responsibility was overwhelming and the thought of this being true was terrifying. I was in a deep depression, and went through literal hell, inside of my mind.

@natlawful He's trying to say that in order to be right with God you have to behave in a righteous manner. You have to obey the law and you will be acceptable to God based on your ability to fulfill the law. Jesus fulfilled the law at calvary and when you receive Him by FAITH not through observing THE LAW you are MADE righteous by Him. Scripture clearly says the NO FLESH SHALL BE JUSTIFIED BY THE LAW , See Galatians. Paul Washer is telling you to do something that he himself can not do.

- Faith withour works is dead = works are the evidence of faith: "For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead."
- Doing works does NOT produce faith, but like the Bible says: "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." Romans 10:17

I've neither seen nor experienced the tooth fairy nor Jesus nor God, so in terms of sane reasoning I'd say that they fall into the same category. You have definitely experienced God. God's existence is revealed by God through His creation. In terms of sane reasoning, if you investigated nature through an in-depth study of all the creatures and the cosmos, you would indirectly be experiencing God's splendor, majesty, and mystery. AND YOU DO THAT DAILY.
P.S. You could believe that a holy cow will take away your sins and it probably would work if you could delude yourself to believe such nonsense. To live means to make wrong decisions, but the tooth fairy won't come to take away the burden of our responsibility. Get real, guys!
I hope you don't believe that God, can honestly be compared to the tooth fairy, in terms of reality. We're talking about a living God. You spend time with people, look at them, can't you see God working through them? God is alive, and Jesus loves you.
If your religion didn't tell you that you were a sinner you wouldn't need Jesus to forgive your sins, right? How do you explain feeling conviction for when you do wrong? How do you explain your conscious? How do you explain the universe being created at all? God created us and he will always be taking care of us. We can't do everything on our own we are mere people after all. And if you look at other religions they all try to copy off the Jewish/Christian Bibles the oldest books out there.
Obviously, both the Old and the New Testament are themselves copies or variations of even older religions. Jesus Christ , for example, is a revenant of the Hindu God Krishna, born by a virgin, doing miracles, got baptised, killed and resurrected. There are many religions in the Mediterranean which contain narrative elements copied from the evangelists to prove the God-likeness of Jesus.
If there's a God, there would be only one God, and any religion would just be an Interpretation. And God wouldn't be an old man sitting on a throne jerking off at his own creation.

He is loving, jealous, just, merciful, and holy. God understands things far better than we ever could. So, I am glad that he is in charge of my life, he knows how it's going to be; much better that I know.

And Jesus knew this was the way, he was the perfect being and he suffered for us so we could all live eternally. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice to take away all sin.

if it has nothing to do with the human (and only has to do with God), then how come there are still those that are unsaved? You have to accept the Lord as your savior and as the one who died for you one the cross. You have to accept that. If the Lord could force that upon you, then we're just puppets. Now why would Paul say that if it wasn't possible to fall away? Are you going to tell me that the apostle Paul wasn't really saved? Eternal security is a very dangerous, and false doctrine. I believe Paul Washer is a man of God, but he's holding onto a doctrine that's just not true. "For many are called, but few are chosen." Mat. 22:14
Tell me which of the elect/chosen ones Rom 8:28-30 drop on the way? It's very unfortunate that you believe in a Savior that fails to keep His sheep. He either saved you and will keep you (began and will complete the work Philip 1:6) or you were never saved by a perfect and powerful Savior, Jesus Christ the Lord. Your kind of "savior" is nothing short but one who fails to save and keep sinners who are enslaved to their sin and can only be saved and kept by the Shepherd.
What's unfortunate is you have no concept of predestination. What's unfortunate is your concept of God makes Him unjust. If He created people strictly for salvation, then He also created people strictly for destruction. Then they have no choice in the matter, which means no free will. So what's the point in anything? This doctrine teaches people that they can't overcome their sin, so they just accept it. God does not tolerate sin.

You can only receive the knowledge of the truth through the Holy Spirit, hence, getting saved. Also Jesus says in Mat. 24:13 that only those who endure to the end will be saved.
Just read Romans 9. It's very clear that salvation is all of God and if a person is lost is all because of himself. God gives people what they deserve and what they desire and in no way is He unjust. You really don't know the true God. Yet in his grace He shows mercy to His people that He has chosen, his sheep, his bride etc.

I'm arguing that once someone is "saved", you can most certainly fall from grace. Hebrews 6: 4-6 clearly confirms this, as well as every other passage I mentioned which you just seemed to ignore. I can give you more if you like. Satan and his angels fell from grace. Judas Iscariot fell from grace. This is possible because of our free will, which is in fact biblical.
Heb 6:4-6 actually goes against you since you believe that once can lose his salvation and then be saved again and again. It says "it is impossible to renew them again to repentance." Judas was never saved, you keep assuming so. Jesus even said "he is the son of perdition and I lose none." Angels and satan have no chance what's so ever and have nothing to do with "falling" from grace. Jesus never died for angels but for sinners. Christ will not lose a single one of His sheep. So if people can fall away from the truth, how do you know you're saved? What would happen if you unexpectedly died in a sinful, unrepentant state?
Also, with regards to Satan and the angels, are you implying that God was without grace until the death and resurrection of Jesus? As for John 10: 26-30, He is referring to His sheep. His sheep are His followers. To be a follower, you have to follow Jesus. Meaning, walk in righteousness. If you follow Jesus, and obey the word of God, then yes, no one can snatch you out of the Father's hand. So tell me, why would the apostle Paul be concerned about disqualification again?
Who chooses the sheep? The shepherd does, not the sheep the shepherd. Who is holding on to who? Is it the sheep or the fact that they are in His hand and the Father's hand?

First, let me start out by saying that neither one of us are acting in a very Christian manner as explained in 1 Peter 3:15. Now, I'm not arguing that God chooses His sheep (through foreknowledge), nor am I arguing that no one can snatch them out of His hand. I do agree with that, as well as enduring to the end is the evidence of one that is saved. But, until you've endured to the end, how do you know that you're saved? Until you've endured to the end, how do you know God chose you? You don't.
With the overwhelming amount of scripture confirming someone can indeed fall away from the truth, I don't believe anyone is saved until the day of judgment when God says, "Well done my good and faithful servant." Brother, it's only my concern for you and others who are deceived by this false teaching, because of what the bible says in Gal. 6:7-8. No one can take the role of God and tell you you're saved, not even yourself. Can a saved person commit suicide but retain salvation? Judge not.

Marrying a self-admitted pagan and also having such a lack of confidence tells me that Paul doesn't know God's voice well at all. This is normal for most "Christians," but the brethren should beware who they follow. Jn 10:27 says "My sheep hear My voice and I know them and they follow me."
If you don't KNOW the Master's voice, you err greatly to take solace in any preacher's words. Turn from them to God's Word and abide in TRUTH

I've listened to a number of Paul Washer's messages and I even have one favorited.
I give men of God a lot of slack because God didn't call His men to be clones of one another. Paul's message is good for many yet many don't like his message because they see it as promoting legalism instead of what has long been called "know so" salvation.
Their criticism is valid. Paul's own wife testifies that she lived with him for years and wasn't a Christian yet he didn't know this and married a pagan???

I had anxiety attacks because I saw no reason to live if Hell was true. If an eternal hell was so real then it would mean most of my family and good chunk of my friends was on their way there, and it was my job to preach and pray for them to save them 24/7. The responsibility was overwhelming and the thought of this being true was terrifying. I was in a deep depression, and went through literal hell, inside of my mind.

@natlawful He's trying to say that in order to be right with God you have to behave in a righteous manner. You have to obey the law and you will be acceptable to God based on your ability to fulfill the law. Jesus fulfilled the law at calvary and when you receive Him by FAITH not through observing THE LAW you are MADE righteous by Him. Scripture clearly says the NO FLESH SHALL BE JUSTIFIED BY THE LAW , See Galatians. Paul Washer is telling you to do something that he himself can not do.

Paul Washer doesn't preach works salvation. If you believe that, you've misunderstood him. He's preaching that faith without works is dead.
Works are the evidence of a genuine faith. Read James 2 and listen to more sermons from this guy.

Obviously, both the Old and the New Testament are themselves copies or variations of even older religions. Jesus Christ , for example, is a revenant of the Hindu God Krishna, born by a virgin, doing miracles, got baptised, killed and resurrected. There are many religions in the Mediterranean which contain narrative elements copied from the evangelists to prove the God-likeness of Jesus.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. " John 3:16-17. God did let it happen so we could all be saved, obviously. And Jesus knew this was the way, he was the perfect being and he suffered for us so we could all live eternally. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice to take away all sin.

if it has nothing to do with the human (and only has to do with God), then how come there are still those that are unsaved? You have to accept the Lord as your savior and as the one who died for you one the cross. You have to accept that. If the Lord could force that upon you, then we're just puppets. This cannot be true though simply because we have our individual souls.

A "common sense" reading of scripture would tell me that God is all knowing all powerful, sovereign, the seeker of lost souls. Of course free will leaves no need for Jesus, the Holy Spirit, or grace.

The apostle Paul says in 1 Cor. 9:27, "but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified." Now why would Paul say that if it wasn't possible to fall away? Are you going to tell me that the apostle Paul wasn't really saved? Eternal security is a very dangerous, and false doctrine. I believe Paul Washer is a man of God, but he's holding onto a doctrine that's just not true. "For many are called, but few are chosen." Mat. 22:14

Tell me which of the elect/chosen ones Rom 8:28-30 drop on the way? It's very unfortunate that you believe in a Savior that fails to keep His sheep. He either saved you and will keep you (began and will complete the work Philip 1:6) or you were never saved by a perfect and powerful Savior, Jesus Christ the Lord. Your kind of "savior" is nothing short but one who fails to save and keep sinners who are enslaved to their sin and can only be saved and kept by the Shepherd.

What's unfortunate is you have no concept of predestination. What's unfortunate is your concept of God makes Him unjust. If He created people strictly for salvation, then He also created people strictly for destruction. Then they have no choice in the matter, which means no free will. So what's the point in anything? This doctrine teaches people that they can't overcome their sin, so they just accept it. God does not tolerate sin.

"For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins." - Heb. 10-26. You can only receive the knowledge of the truth through the Holy Spirit, hence, getting saved. "For it would be better not to have known the way or righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed on to them." - 2 Pet. 2:21. Also Jesus says in Mat. 24:13 that only those who endure to the end will be saved.

Just read Romans 9. It's very clear that salvation is all of God and if a person is lost is all because of himself. God gives people what they deserve and what they desire and in no way is He unjust. You really don't know the true God. Yet in his grace He shows mercy to His people that He has chosen, his sheep, his bride etc.

Yes, in fact I did. I'm not arguing where salvation comes from. Of course it comes from God. You've obviously missed the point. I'm arguing that once someone is "saved", you can most certainly fall from grace. Hebrews 6: 4-6 clearly confirms this, as well as every other passage I mentioned which you just seemed to ignore. I can give you more if you like. Satan and his angels fell from grace. Judas Iscariot fell from grace. This is possible because of our free will, which is in fact biblical.

Heb 6:4-6 actually goes against you since you believe that once can lose his salvation and then be saved again and again. It says "it is impossible to renew them again to repentance." Judas was never saved, you keep assuming so. Jesus even said "he is the son of perdition and I lose none." Angels and satan have no chance what's so ever and have nothing to do with "falling" from grace. Jesus never died for angels but for sinners. Christ will not lose a single one of His sheep. John 10:26-30

I'm sorry, but where did I say someone could be saved again and again? Oh that's right, I didn't. I said, as Jesus said, "only he who endures to the end, he will be saved." I'm glad you finally agree with me, or should I say, the Bible, with regards to Heb. 6 that someone can fall away from the truth. That was the point of this entire discussion. So if people can fall away from the truth, how do you know you're saved? What would happen if you unexpectedly died in a sinful, unrepentant state?

Also, with regards to Satan and the angels, are you implying that God was without grace until the death and resurrection of Jesus? As for John 10: 26-30, He is referring to His sheep. His sheep are His followers. To be a follower, you have to follow Jesus. Meaning, walk in righteousness. If you follow Jesus, and obey the word of God, then yes, no one can snatch you out of the Father's hand. So tell me, why would the apostle Paul be concerned about disqualification again?

First, let me start out by saying that neither one of us are acting in a very Christian manner as explained in 1 Peter 3:15. Now, I'm not arguing that God chooses His sheep (through foreknowledge), nor am I arguing that no one can snatch them out of His hand. I do agree with that, as well as enduring to the end is the evidence of one that is saved. But, until you've endured to the end, how do you know that you're saved? Until you've endured to the end, how do you know God chose you? You don't.

With the overwhelming amount of scripture confirming someone can indeed fall away from the truth, I don't believe anyone is saved until the day of judgment when God says, "Well done my good and faithful servant." Brother, it's only my concern for you and others who are deceived by this false teaching, because of what the bible says in Gal. 6:7-8. No one can take the role of God and tell you you're saved, not even yourself. Can a saved person commit suicide but retain salvation? Judge not.
