isa,can you tell me what the name of that pool @1:32 is?and hwre it is?I visited your beautiful island when I was 8 and it was the best Christmas I'd ever had :)
@mikemanopopop bahahaha...racist much?? thats probably WHY it is a paradise ...pretty much still untouched by "fisi" .... now why u wanna come on here and spoil it with your narrow minded comments?? a finak
@mikemanopopop.........hahahahahahahahahahaha funny that you say that, we really don't need white people to make it a paradise....lol....but trust me there are quite a few of our Caucasian brothers and sisters that visit the island from time to time
I spent six weeks in Rotuma in 1985. Have very fond memories of the island and people. The local wine is lethal by the way. Thanks for the slide show!!
Thanx for that my great grandfather is George Morseu he came to the Torres Strait Islands which is located at the tip of Australia, back in the day they used to call him George Rotumah thanx again
if i was given a choice on where i'd like to spend my xmas, it'll be ROTUMA of course! Fall in love with the island more and more everytime I visit. Proud to be one!! Hanisiof se 'aus 'otou kainaga. Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year!!
Faiaksea! Really enjoyed that. Someday I hope to visit my parent's homeland. My mom's from Lopta and my dad, from Motusa. Hanisiof se aus atakoa, from Las Vegas, Nevada USA!
For all that admire this video, I too love it, it does tell us that there is haven on earth,(paradise) everything about this island is beautiful, Im proud to say that I grew up in this island, and everything I'am today is rooted back to....Rotuma...fai'aksia.
wow, your island is paradise! truly indeed a Paradise. And thank you for letting me and many people know about your home island. God bless you, bless your island and bless the people too.
Thank you for reminding me of a place that is so special in my heart. I spent a year on Rotuma 1972-1973. Those faraway memories will go with me to the grave.
I have seen Rotumans crying for this place. Sailed on a ship with Rotuma crew members around the island on two different occassions, once at night, another time in daylight. We were not cleared to land. The night time trip, crew members lit up every conceivable light that we had on the ship while we circumnavigated the island.
Flashlights and floodlights and cabin lights all flicking on and off. The ships whistle continually blowing. On shore, family and friends were flashing car and motorbike lights. Bonfires were lit on beaches all the way around the island. Oh what a sight it was to see.
When we visited again another time in daylight I thought this would not be so exciting as the night time visit. I was proved wrong. Every mirror on the ship was taken out and used for flashing shoreside. Similarly every mirror I'm sure on the island was pulled out and used to flash back the sunlight to us
sorry about the first comments was busy talking on the phone to mum while typing the comment so obviuos i made all thos mistakes but i really did luv the music choice and the video was excellent maybe taking my american friends to the islands for a long desrved break soon
we are so lucky to have this dreamland to always go back to wheneva the need ariises lovit liv in it.share it. thank god for this island paradise of ours.
we are so lucky that we hav been this beautifulplace to love live and admire and to always there is always aplace to back to wheneva the need arisess lov the music choice
Very beautiful singing and pictures, Rotumans like many other small island nations are not as mainstream or well known as say hamoa, toga, fisi etc. It should be this way to protect that exclusiveness about our idylic homes from the bad effects westernisation, manaia!
Hi!!!!Them photos were absolutely LOVELY!!! It's comforting to see it especially when we are far away from home. Iam ROTUMAN but I have forgotten much of the language...and I haven't been to Rotuma but am palnning to make it happen now that I've seen how beautiful it is....Thanks for that!-HARIETA STEPHEN PALUPE
