Secondly they don't even look like Nazis, heck there uniform is WAY more french than German(look up french WW1 great coats and crested helmets). In the end the only thing close to being Nazi about them is that there name is Krieg which in German means 'War'.

even if the the IG are really highly trained and excellent the space marines are highly skilled and excellent and also genetically engineered so 1 space marine is worth 50 IG and it is common for an IG to run away not fallback but a spacemarine fears nothing and they dont cost much at all it is a normal person who gives his life to a chapter and gets genetically enhanced and goes through mental training and such - Recon: chapter master of the unknown chapter, The Doom Knights!

Actually, Imperial Guardsmen are highly skilled and highly trained soldiers. On each planet, only the best soldiers of their army is put forth to join the IG and serving is usually considered an honor as the IG are considered Elite Forces compared to Planetary Defense Forces. The problem is one of scale. The average Ork regenerates like Wolverine, most mid-rank Tyranids could go toe to toe with Space Marines. Un-augmented humans just can't compete except when massed together.

@cursedboy1 And warfare is all about economics. A single Space Marine is a huge investment and is worthless as a Garrisoning or Defending force. For that one Space Marine, you can have a whole Squad of highly disciplined, well equip IG that don't take decades to create and don't have a 50-50 mortality rate to train. In addition, a Guardsmen who survives his first Major engagement will have his life expectancy jump way up. The first real battle is trail by fire. Only the strongest survive.
