  • The Rolling Stones have often been the soundtrack to every crazy journey in my life...what a ride, to Hell n back and everywhere in between! You cant f*** with perfection...

  • Hey, I'm the BIG sister! May I dance too? HA!

  • Left alot of sweat on the dance floor rockin' to this song !!

  • Keith=god of rhythm guitar. Along with Mick T the best lead/rhythm due in rock history.

  • dance dance..

  • THIS IS FUCKIN AMAZING! STONES FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER! I MEAN WOW!

  • I keep searching for the original version.

  • Great groove...thanks to Charlie Watts...

  • @TruthAxe lemme guess ,, no idea of what playing rhythm is ?

  • Ever hear this on a 5K watt surround sound disco floor? Feels like you've just did a tablespoone of coke and your head's about ot explode... Outrageous fun.

  • By the way, I'm the Big sister. May I dance too????

  • @TheMustangsally75 PLEASE DO !

  • Sorry, that was Steven Tyler and Joe Perry.OOPS!!!

  • The "Toxic Twins" do it again!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • this is all the proof ya need, that keith is by far one of the best rhythm players to come down the pike..(just ask Jimmy page). hell, 95 percent of todays "supposed" Guitar Gods cant play rhythm at all.sad really.

  • @stevebeagle - Yes!!! Actually, I believe Keith is the best rhythm guitarist I've ever heard. I saw him live in 1979. Folks, Keith is way, way, way better than people say he is. Mick Taylor was great, true. Keith could match him note for note. NOBODY can lay down a riff like Keef Riffhard. Just my opinion.

My favorite REAL rockers? Stones, baby!

  • @FanOfJanis

Yea, did you see the documentary where Chuck Berry gave Keith "What for"? Yep, Keith is good, but Chuck took him down a notch or two! HA!

  • @TheMustangsally75 - Never saw that one, but I'd love to! Is it on YouTube? Peace.

  • @FanOfJanis

It may be. Not sure. Never looked it up. I would have no idea ow to tell you how to pull it up on youtube. Just try Chuck Berry/Keith Richards. Good luck yo you! Rock on!!!

  • oh my gosh-this is ear candy !!!

  • My best memory of this tune- December 1989 in the Pontiac Silver Dome...Steel Wheels tour. The weed smoke was so thick you couldn't see.

Mick was belting this out as his microphone-free hand was running up and down the thigh of the back up girl singing behind him...while large phalic symbols inflated on both sides of the stage...what a night...

  • There's nothing to quarrel about from my point of view! "Music is the most erotic of all Fine Arts" and besides there's 'political correctness' as Americans call it and Russians call it 'good manners'. It's like a discussion about love: the more minds, the more sentiments!

  • Hack guitarists? Surely you just dear boy!!

Shitty singer? Just go away and stay there!

    You're a douche'-bag! No kidding.

  • A couple of hack guitarists and a shitty singer, but it works.

  • @TruthAxe nothing truthful about ya boy... in fact you wouldn't know an axe if it hit ya upside your tiny head

  • @prober45 And you write this to me, why, exactly? What drives you to defend your beliefs about the Rolling Stones? Surely, if you're confident in their skill as musicians, you would lack the need to argue and defend them.

  • @TruthAxe well, everyone but you seem to know they're the greatest rock and roll band in the world. They've earned the title... so why must you drop by and mouth off about one of their songs? Go back to Abba's videos, where you belong

  • @prober45 Ah, I see. So your argument is "everyone else says ... so that's why I follow the crowd." In short, lacking any musical training or discerning ear except one made of tin, you're going along with the crowd.

I guess that'll keep you from getting beaten up in life, but that isn't going to make right, prober45.

What an sad way to live, being one of the herd.

  • @TruthAxe actually, TA if you want to know the truth I have plenty of musical training. I'm a songwriter, a pianist and a father to a very talented musician son. But, the fact is... just because the majority of the world loves the Stones doesn't make us sheep... I would think you might fall more in that category. You know, people who feel the need to ridicule something good... simply because they are BAAAAAAD at critiquing! lmao

  • You amuse, @prober45. So drive around with a bumper sticker "Proud parent of an ordinary child but we believe him to be extraordinary"?

Exactly how is my critique bad that the Stones work even with a couple hack guitarists -- which the entire world of learned guitarists would agree -- and a crappy singer -- again, all true voice-as-instrument vocalists would agree?

What is bad? Is it the truth-telling on how mediocre the Richards and Wood are as guitarists or Mick as a singer?

  • @TruthAxe tell ya what, if you can even play a guitar... I challenge you to try and play this song or anything pretty much that Richards does. And do it in the same scale.... he has a little secret, amongst only that which REAL guitarists would know and I bet you don't fall in that category. Vocals are something that people differ on... depending on what you like. I mean you could say Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Cash and many many others can''t sing but they've sure made a fine livin

  • @prober45 "ya" and "livin"? Are you for real?

Man up. Say "I like the Rolling Stones. I matters not that the guitarists are hacks or the singer can't sing. It works for me."

Billions served enjoy the mediocre food of McDonalds. Such popularity does not elevate the culinary standing of such hack food. However such food works for many.

So too is it with the Stones.

Preferences are fine. Living is built on preference. Preference is not truth of skill, however.

  • @TruthAxe lookit asswhole, I'm a Texan we talk funny alright? You? Talk about "manning up" jeez... admit it, you're one of those trolls that hasn't a clue what real music is yet you get your rocks off slamming those of us who do! Whatever floats your little boat

  • You amuse @prober45. You're not talking. You're writing. You express yourself in an ignorant manner and now you become angry when called on it.

Your illogical defense of your musical preference has been exposed for the world to see, which reveals your rather mediocre intellect.

Further, you suffer from weak reading comprehension skills for I claimed from the start that the "Stones work" regardless of their imperfection.

    Keep amusing!

  • @TruthAxe nah, really you're too void of intelligence AND musical knowledge to waste anymore time with... frankly my dear clueless troll... you bore me. Pretty sure I can speak for the masses there. Yes, we are Stones fans here. We know great stuff when we hear it!

  • You amuse, @prober45. Again! "too void of ..., " as opposed to what, can someone be partially void? In what alternate reality do you live that there are degrees of void?

    Keep amusing thogh, prober45.

Keep living in the long ago past, listening to old fogies' music. Dance Little Sister is 37 years old. When the Stones released it, Bill Haley's Rock Around the Clock , a mere 19 years old.

    How embarrassing. HA HA HA

  • @TruthAxe oh hey TA, did I mention the CARS have a new album out... you might wanna run over there and troll them

  • Aw, you missed me @prober45. Ask your mom if you can leave the basement long enough to make a friend at the comic book shop.

  • @prober45 TruthAxe is a punk!!! Ignore this punk!!!!!

  • @stella3265 oh yeah... I have. Had my fun with the idiot and moved onto things with an IQ instead. lol

  • @prober45 Ignore punks like that!!! Teaker Ezy

  • love the stones. this one i just flipped on because my lady is about to go out the door to her dance studio. there she goes...looking back at me with a big smile. ha ha!

  • If this dont make you wana turn it up you must be deaf!

  • A standout Stones tune.

I recall an old Jimmy Page interview, late '70s, after Keith had been busted in Toronto for possession of heroin "for purposes of trafficking", no less, 'cause the Mounties found a whole ounce. Page was asked about it, & said: "Just listen to Dance Little Sister, & you can forgive that guy (Keith) for anything."

Of course, Jimmy was a junkie back then too, but had been able to keep the fact mostly quiet.

  • I havent heard this since i was a kid in the 70's. Thanks for a kick ass song

  • There is nothing you can't accomplish after listening to a few Rolling Stones songs.

The Greatest RoCK n RoLL Band in History. Always Has Been....Always WiLL Be.

    Peace.

  • FUCKING AWESSSSSSSSSSSSSSOME!

  • Dance, Dance Little Sister Dance.....

  • a bunch of bad ass white boys who know how to put the Rock in the Roll. They could play the heck out of their instruments. stella3265

  • @stella3265 still can Stella... they ain't gone yet

  • @prober45 It's the sound!! The Guitar tone, it is addictive!! I could be wrong, but it sounds like vintage open tuning with 5 string(low E dropped) open G perhaps, I don't know, I'll have to figure it out!! Peace Brother!!

  • Whatta rocka:))

  • Steel Wheels Tour...Pontiac Silver Dome, November(?) 1989...Mick sang this with hand on the upper-frontal thigh of the background dancer/singer/whatever she was

standing behind him...kind of a "Reach Back". The pot smoke was so thick in the row in back of us...or was it the row in front?

  • The rhythm guitar on this song is great. Used to hear this alot on the radio. Not anymore. What a shame.

  • contrary to the lyrics, this makes my blood run warm.

  • I'm the big sister but sure can DANCE!!! so can my little sisters. Thank goodness we grew up in that era of music!!!

  • @Hossfly12 Rock N' Roll is more important to us then Jesus!!! Rock saves, so does John Lennon!!! Hail Hail Rock N'Roll Peace and Love!!!!

  • DANCE LITTLE SIIISSTERRR DAAANCCEEE!!!! RARRRGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!

  • Green Tongue, Blue Tongue?

  • YE KNOW....IM THE BIGGEST STONES FAN...AND I KEEP FORGETTING THE DIFFERENT VARIETY OF MUSIC THE STONES HAVE DONE THROUGH THE YEARS....AND , TO ME, THIS IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THERE JOURNEY.......

  • @Mistake4AHeartbeat Nuh uh I'm the biggest Stones fan! How many cd's do you have? I have 4 lol BUT THAT DONT MEAN A THING I'M STILL THE BIGGEST STONES FAN AND MICK JAGGER'S MISTRESS.

  • actually, Ronnie Wood was working with the Stones partially during the recording of It's Only Rock and Roll, he was full time when they did Black and Blue. Actually listening to it, this sounds more Woody than Mick Taylor...but who knows..

  • this shit rocks now. not genius. just kick ass.

  • Positively blistering slide guitar from Mick Taylor, arguably some of the choicest to ever fly from his golden fingers. A superb complement to Keith Richards' deliciously dirty riffing.

  • this song rocks!

  • great song

  • Hey uhehtrfuiiu, I would bet my bottom dollar that's Mick Taylor playing the solo. The lick played at 2:24 that repeats at 2:36 is like a fingerprint

  • @joev872000 you right---this is years before Ronnie Wood--unmistakeable just as you know who rhythm guitar

  • @joev872000 without a doubt, i agree that it's got to be MT...lead guitar phrasings here remind one of his solo/fills on "dead flowers"...his signal is a bit more processed here and he sped it up somewhat. he went for a similar sound on the "heavy tune" session he later did with the band "gong"...there's a real powerful example of taylor's brilliance, too. if anyone reading this is fond of taylor's work and has not heard that piece...i highly recommend it.

  • @joev872000

without a doubt that is MT in that solo

  • whs on solo guitar, mick taylor? it dnt sound like no chuck berry/ keith signature riff

  • I Know it's only rock and roll

  • @Krznb6 But I like it!!!!

  • joeyalbon.jimmy page agrees with you.

  • Ah, a song to save your pyrokinetic daughter to.

  • yes, bobromtempe,

    P.S.

    Just cuz

    PPS.

Thanks to you all. You will never know how many in reality.

  • not "black and blue" paul, "its only rock and roll"

  • nice piano work as well, chuck berry and pinetop perkins would rock this tune

  • Did they ever perform this in their concerts?

  • As I know, they had played it several times.Another 'love you live' in Toronto shows us good performance,I'm sure.Maybe somebody has already posted it, so you'll find it soon.''EL MOCAMBO '77''

  • danceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • This sounds like the real song. One of my favorite Stones songs. Listen to Richards' rythem work on this-it's briliant.

  • @joeyalbon Joey, with Keith, his brilliance is knowing when NOT to play.

  • @joeyalbon

    This is the real song!!!

  • I LIKE THIS BEAT

  • funky
