If you read the book "Heavier then Heaven"....AEasily the most in-depth and persenol book written of Kurt Cobain by auther Charels Cross, with in-put by Kurt's family, Courtney Love, Kris Noveltelic, Dave Grohl, Nirvana's inner-circle.... Kurt freely admitted on a number of occassions that he took the riff from "more then a feeling" for Smells Like teen Spirt"....It was one of the first records his uncle gave him when he taught himself to play guitar....Kurt would spend hours learning the riff.

In order to clear up all the arguments this is just another way in which Nirvana showed how much this song was copied from other artists and did not deserve the fame it recieved, not a cover. Nirvana also said this was a song which was a Pixies rip off, as any good Nirvana fan knows. Kurt came to hate this song, even refusing to play in at some shows, and made joke about how mainstream it had become and how there were too many song similar to it.
