hey man, dig the video a lot. one of my favorites by claypool. what kinda pedal do you use to get the auto wah kinda effect at 430ish? i really wanna get a sound like that being a very claypool influenced bassist but can never get that sound.

I use a crappy BP80 pedal. The effect is preset number 4. Ha! It just sounds more flangy over the actual track

if you look from 4:31 to 4:36, when the color changes, claypool is still playing notes and this kid's right fingers stop moving for five full seconds. that's because the audio we all hear is the album track off Purple Onion. he's playing along at his house, sure, but the bass track you hear is not actually him.

Yeah, I was switching over to my auto wah, which actually creates a small discrepancy that you can hear because I was letting the D ring out a bit. My crappy processor doesn't smoothly transition between effects. I assure you though, it is me playing. God, why am I even giving this the time of day..... you can clearly hear some blatant screwup for crying out loud....lol this is just too funny.

It is an SRX 700 with through neck design and active pickups, not sure if it is prestige though. I have been playing by ear for my entire musical shenanigans. I took one class on music theory when I got into college but other than that, not much. I really should know more, though playing by ear helps so much more. Can't wait to hear Ballad!!!

OK...lots to say about this:

1. I was going to do this tune, and you did it so well that I would be a complete ass to play it now. Great job.

2. HOW do you get that Les Claypool sound that starts when you switch to the blue filter. I WANT that sound to play with, but have no idea what effect that is.

To be honest Zod, all it is is my preset number 4 on my bp80. I know that you play with one as well, it just happens to sounds a little more flangy mixed in with the song itself. too bad the bp's won't let you combine presets! Bastards! thank you though!

LOL...maybe I should consider actually using the presets. I custom program all of my effects channels and do not both with the presets...mostly because I do not extract much power from them. but I will start with channel 4 and then see if I can boost the gain in it. Thanks for the advice.
