  • all good swings will have some elements from stack and tilt, its just called proper weight transfer and hip usage

  • its like...his version of stack and tilt

  • son of a bitch copied my swing!

  • drops the hands like a pro golfer would. That's why he's where he is.

  • Hello, I'm Martin Kaymer. I achieved the #1 ranking in the world, so I decided to f#ck with my swing so I could draw the ball to be more competetive at Augusta National. Boy, that worked out really well.

  • little flip going on in this swing... still has forward shaft lean at impact but lets his wrists relax post impact

  • I have been teaching those exact swing for 5 years with HUGE success. It is a single axis swing (left side axis) and produces more accurate ball striking and increased distance in most cases. If you never leave your left side you never have to worry about getting back to it!

  • Really cool !

  • This is how you're supposed to transfer your weight. Call it whatever you like. I always thought stack and tilt looked similar to normal swings, anyways. Keeping most of your weight up front and coiling it around your body is the most efficient way of hitting, as seen here.

  • @travz21 That's the thing in stack and tilt there is no weight transfer.

  • thıs ın not stack and tılt.

  • Nice and friendly bunch exchanging here I thought, so I must place a comment. Teach it, and you'll probably have one half [of your clients] who'll reverse pivot, and the other half who move further infront of the ball and top it. So, in the end your clients have moved on .....to the next pro of course.

  • he systematically murdered that ball!

  • its so smooth!

  • It's definitely not a stack and tilt - His upper body is coiled away from the target - Just remember that if you coil your upper body away from the target, there are 3 different pivot points that you can have: 1) Coiled around your inner right thigh (Young Tiger, Norman, Adam Scott) 2) Basically just think equal weight, best for irons (Haney Tiger, moe norman, johnny Miller) and 3) inner left thigh (Kaymer, Mahan, new Tiger with Foley, Olazabal).....you just have to decide what works for you

  • he doesnt have much weight transfer on to his right side thats why it looks like stack and hack

  • i hate everyones inability to understand what really defines the stack and tilt. they see a player not transferring their weight back and they automatically think they are using the stack and tilt. sean o hair does it hunter mahan does it and so does martin kaymer. it is a stack since their sternum stays over the ball but their weight does not go forward on the backswing like with the s&t. also there is no tilting away from the target on the follow through (the tilt part of s&t which i hate).

  • @dcdgolf1 So at 11 secs is is spine straight up or titled away from target?

  • @sammyq22 his follow through looks nothing like stack and tilt. hes firmly on his left side with his torso lined up with his left leg.

  • @dcdgolf1 I didn't implicate what swing style it is or isn't. I was making the observation that in fact at 0.11 his spine is tilted away from target.

I agree, in the finish he's firmly on his left.

  • @dcdgolf1 funny how everybody gets their panties in a twist when you say SandT.He is stacked, the way he accomplishes being stacked is by tilting towards the target while he stands up and rotates his shoulders back, hence the "tilt". He pushes his hips forward in the downswing and keeps his top center (sternum) centered in the follow through hence the "tilt" away from the target. He exhibits many of the traits (as most good golfers). SandT does not prescribe weight forward in the backswing, btw

  • @spartanstackandtilt

Uh?!??!?! Yeah, it DOES prescribe weight forward in the backswing. Educate yourself. It is NOT stack and tilt. Stack and Tilt is a failed method.

  • @GolfMatthew not all your weight, educate yourself

  • hogan

  • indeed s&t

  • If you want to copy this swing, look at the club, not him. Make your club do what his does.

  • check out DAN SHAUGER i have lesson from DAN what great teaches DAN is he number 1 to me

  • MARTIN..Happy New Year...the best in 2011 !!! helping your VISION well into your Boomer years every day !!

    YOURSCOREYOURWAY(com)

    Google...BLUE LIGHT and ANTIOXIDANTS

  • I love his swing.. I am being taught to shift my weight onto the back foot and then to the front on the follow through. He clearly keeps the vast majority of his weight on his front foot.. What Iron is this? 7 Iron?

  • ruthless german efficiency!!

  • great swing.....for him!!....a very athletic action that is his own....could never be taught!!...period!

  • not stack and tilt but he could do it easily.

  • That swing looks easy on the back. This guy's got a good swing to mimic.

  • @golfmaniac007 Dude you really have nothing better than to go around commenting on what other people think?

  • PEOPLE JUST BECAUSE YOU KEEP YOUR HEAD STILL ITS NOT STACK AND TILT Zach Johnson did the same thing throughout his life keep

  • very sexy

  • Not stack & tilt, a proper swing with head still and a good shoulder turn over quiet legs. A bit like Tom Watson's recent back swing. Get Toms DVD - the best swing in Golf.

  • its not stack and tilt u noob

  • @willnicklaus12 and there are parts of s&t what close in the swing how he slides forward just split sec before commencing his through swing motion, and that my friend is essential in s&t. ( my HC 2,4 I think I know :-) )

  • @willnicklaus12 what else? and what is s&t if not this?

  • @Funmichi it's a real golf swing that isn't an "easy fix" kinda thing

  • @Funmichi

You stupid bro? Nothing about his swing, neither dynamically nor from a static standpoint, is stack and tilt. Go educate yourself, you insipid moron.

  • @GolfMatthew definition of s&s: no movement of the body sideways. I cant see any movement sideways so it is s&s. the weight transfer is just in the direct of the ball fligt. Look on wikipedia and you will see I'm right.

  • @Funmichi

You can't define an entire swing theory with ONE definition. Stack and Tilt is weight moving left at address, backswing, AND transition obviously, with a sawed off finish, inside takeaway, and a hip slide with little to no rotation. You truly are a dumbass. You looked on wikipedia for a swing theory. Fucking idiot.

  • @GolfMatthew but this is the main defintion. other things like you are talking about are not important for this technic.Avoiding faults caused by a side movement is the reason why this kind of swing exists. you say: "hip slide with no rotation" You need to rotate your hip, this is the most important thing for every kind of golf swing. If you dont rotate it, you hit the ball from outside to inside and slice.

  • @Funmichi

NOT IMPORTANT!?!?!? You really are STUPID. Not rotating your hips is not what makes you come from outside to inside. That is caused by coming too far inside on the takeaway or staying too outside and leaving it outside. Your 'main definition' of SandT is WRONG. There a bunch of certified SandT instructors on a forum laughing at your stupid ass right now because I'm giving them the link to this shit. Just shut the fuck up dude. You're fucking stupid.

  • @GolfMatthew shure because if you rotate your hips you avoid to swing just with your arms. without the torque through the hip turning which start the shoulder turning would affect also that much power get lost. It is absolutly wrong to slide your hips in the follow through. this will affect a changed of the impact and results in thin or fat shots. Last point: your energy center is above your stomach between the hips. so use it, it doesnt matter if you play s&t or a punch shot!

  • @Funmichi

Wow... You're an idiot. You JUST proved it. Just don't talk anymore. You're illiterate and ignorant and you won't listen to reason. You are arguing with BIOMECHANICS AND PHYSICS.

  • @willnicklaus12 no movement of the body sideways. I cant see any movement sideways so it is s&s. the weight transfer is just in the direct of the ball fligt. Look on wikipedia and you will see I'm right.

  • stack n tilt

  • Kaymer's swing is awesome!

  • yeah, weight favouring his left side

  • Thats sexy

  • @Copelipper1 unless your a women or gay, please don't ever say to another man that anything of them is sexy

  • @golfmaniac007 damn, I was going to talk about how amazing his penis is. Oh well, guess I'll just have to say how good his swing is instead.

  • Looks like it.

  • stack and tilt????

  • Top class swing

  • I like how well Martin Kaymer stays over the ball on his back swing.

  • I like how well Martin Kaymer stays over the ball during his back swing.
