Interesting to see how many people don't think this is a violin. The lowest note is in fact the lowest note on a violin (an open g string) probably not that common. I'm not a highly skilled player, but I really like the piece, and I'm attempting to learn it.

Funny.. I watched the anime BECAUSE of my love of music. A classical based anime was a double bonus for me. To say that a person has to know every important detail of a song and it's history to be allowed to enjoy it,is a bit ignorant and closed minded. It brought people to the song,made them appreciate it,and opened them to something they may not have heard. It made them feel,which is what music is about to begin with. It doesn't matter if they heard it from training,an anime,or a homeless guy.
