@77mrd Yes, there is some noise to the slider. If you place a shotgun microphone on the camera, you'll hear it less because the microphone is picking up audio a bit further away than the in camera microphone.
@77mrd You don't have to use a tripod, it comes with two flat legs with feet so you can place on the ground or table etc. A tripod gives you the option of way more shots though.
@DudeFromUkraine Supply and demand. They also made some extra additions since the first release. There's 4 bearings instead of 3 and a few other improvements.
@MrCheesyCam Thanks so much for your help! I really want the konova, but for the review I do on my channel. I think the indislider will do the job for now. Also, will save a few hundred bucks with iS. Thanks again!
Why would this be better than a dry bearing (DryLin®) unit such as the $160 Igus unit? I guess Igus needs some work once you get it (drilling some holes etc) but DryLin bearings are used in commercial machines costing thousands of dollars.
@JacanaProductions Roller Bearing sliders take no effort to move it. It's really a matter of preference, but these types are quickly becoming the favorite for it's silky smooth movements. It takes a bit of practice to manage friction, but one of the best bang for the bucks sliders out right now.
I was responding to your comment in the video that you hadn't read the instructions (2:58). If you had glanced at the instructions only to find there was nothing useful in the instructions, that information would have added something useful to your review. My comment was not a complaint, more of a suggestion.
@timtrottproductions Thanks, this video was actually a follow up to an earlier article. This is literally 'THE FIRST' introduction video about this slider anywhere on the internet. Since it took several days to receive it, I wanted to quickly follow up with my blog readers. i've actually released other articles and videos about this slider after this initial one. If you want to keep up with DSLR gear and tips, please check out my blog. My videos are usually just additions to the write-ups. =)
@realtytour Typically a slider goes left, and then it goes right. There are no instructions. What I showed was a tool kit to adjust friction. It's not a a set of instructions.
@Fibr3Optix I wonder if there is something wrong with the bearings in your carriage assembly. Have you tried adjusting them? I also made sure to clean out any dust or particles that might have been on the rail.
looking good!

Do I need to order a tripod head for this? Or is that optional?
Thanks,
Dave

@77mrd you'll need to have a head, just a standard quarter witworth mount :)
Just ordered mine today, so stoked to use it.

If I use on camera audio, do you think I will pickup a lot of noise when I use the slider? Basically, does the slider make alot of noise?
