The actual reason, is that Warner Bro's predicted Dark Knight to do REALLY well, and figured, hey, we have enough money this year, if we postpone Harry Potter until next year, then we'll have a lot of money next year. Pretty much that's what happened, and plus, it was a very last minute decision. Seeing as the teaser trailer came out, the release dates the next week, and the next week the postponed it. I got this info off of Mugglecast on itunes :D if you wanted to know

pads=dumb. It seems to make it more of a guys sport than a co-ed sport. Also, the sport has been as dangerous as it has been since the first year Harry played... I think the designer should stop trying to make such a statement, and focus on making the movies cohesive in their style.

i think that they start the creation and filming of movies 7 and 8 next year. and they will be recording the movies simultaneously. They will only be released at different times.

HBP got pushed back to July 17 because WB's president Alan Horn, wants to make more $. he thinks that if he sets the movie back to the summer, more people will watch it them. he says that there is a silver lining because the wait between HBP and DH part 1 is shorter, but the wait between OotP and HBP is longer! so dont listen to that. then, since HBP isnt coming out, on November 21, the twilight movie is coming out then. so Harry Potter and twilight are NOT coming out the same day. David Yates did an excellant job with the order of the phoenix, he made the film flow with pace that wasn't there in the books and thus made it exciting to watch for people who hadn't read the book
