@BushidoCode72 It's from the "I still have a soul" HBO Boxing commercial but damn I also would've love to know the artist or the name of the track because I absolutely love it!
@MrPranksteer Thanks man. I co-coach a small group of kids for MMA. And I always collect good background music. I loved it. Maybe I can buy it from itunes.
Are arts that can be called sisters to have a common origin.
But the big difference is in the enfaze techniques and training.
While Judo emphasizes the techniques of falls and projections Jiu Jitsu emphasizes the techniques of immobilization of joints by keys submissions and chokes. but both techniques have similar arts with enfaze divergent.
@bjjweekly How did you mean that ? Btw i have much respect for BJJ but i think its the same like judo.. What are the differences between JUDO and BJJ ? :)
@svalovica The Basically Just Judo line is played out, and usually used by someone who doesn't train Judo or BJJ. The differences in the sports are vast even though they are both grappling and there are some techniques that cross over. It's kind of like saying Muay Thai is like boxing because they both punch. A short version is Judo = high power explosive throws, BJJ = more intricate ground fighting. Obviously that's a huge oversimplification but I'm running out of space. ;)
@svalovica Dude all you have to do is look at the rules. BJJ has several elements. Gi Competitions in which leg locks are allowed and 'ipon' automatic wins are not awarded per throw. There is 'no gi' BJJ competitions with more rules (leg locks, knee bars, anckle cranks, spine locks, etc.). There is the Vale Tudo part of BJJ which is no rules fighting with BJJ and Muay Thai mixed in and htere is Self Defense part of BJJ which resembles Japanese Jiujitus. Judo has none of that.
@TheRELEKiSM you have nove reason to call me stupid cause you dont know any shit about it ! bjj and judo have grappling and its almost the same, judo have takedowns and bjj too ! try to read something about that pls....
Well, whoever says jits are not appropriate for streetfights is out of their mind. Jiu jitsu only falls short when a practitioner is outnumbered. Even then, it may just be a matter of how adept or fast with his submissions said practitioner is. Jits rule the world of fair fights.
my fuckin god...you guys think that styles aren't for the streets or self defense doesn't work, let me tell ya this, it is the mindset one has in the situation of danger rather than the style. If your mind set is bent on hurting the guy rather than choosing which technique, everything comes naturally. fighting techniques are mainly conductors to the mindset. Don't think, do. And don't do, be.
if anyone would like an example, just shoot me up a reply
@AimingFist IT IS for Street fights !! specially 1 to 1 !! i fight everyday , and i can tell you : THERE IS NOTHING , NO STYLE , WHAT SO EVER , BETTER THAN BJJ
@TheDeathTriangle ON a psychological Approach, you know why BJJ is better? Ok, all of our lives growing up watching kung fu movies or fight scenes from movies or self defense moves taught on tv or by a friend, most of them are done standing. No one until this decade has emphasized on ground game because it is a WHOLE NEW GENRE of fighting. Plus, when fights are taken to the ground, there is no set of movements ingrained in us to handle it like we would on standing, thats where BJJ comes in
@reens79 - I'm sure there are plenty of Judo clubs. You should enquire if they also train Ne Waza (ground game), which is the parent art of BJJ. Some Judo clubs have significantly reduced Ne Waza training though, whereas some may train say 50/50 standup and ground.. you'll have to tolerate being thrown.. Good luck.
Man BJJ is not a sport.........Not even close to haveing to dedicate yourself at all. BJJ is a lifestyle. It takes more dedication than life itself. Going to a gym to formally train in BJJ is the most privillaged thing in my life. I love BJJ!
@catman1233 10 years of 1-4 1 hour classes 3-5 days a week to get a black belt. Then you can get degrees within that belt. So explain to me how it doesnt take your life? Yes you can miss classes. And you can take breakes but theirs also competition. S & C maybe you take some Judo or Wrestling classes to help your BJJ. So maybe its not your life style. But if you are a serious competitor, then you will compete in 1 or 2 competitions a month. Whether its tournements or just 1 match etc.
@joeylz96 PLEASE Tell me ...does BJJ ever stand up and fight?.
What is this thing about going to the floor? DO NOT TELL ME THAT FIGHTS END UP ON THE FLOOR BECAUSE YOU ARE SAYING BJJ IS VERY WEAK AGAINT TWO OR MORE ATTACKERS. WHAT WOULD GRACIES DO AGAINTS TWO ATTACKERS ON THE FLOOR? YES YOU GUEST IT F. U. G. ( F....UP GRACIES)
Bjj looks like a sport like any sport there is only one againts one. what would happen if the referee joined in? BJJ is a sport Like Judo ( BJJ.. Basically Just Judo)
@slouttop Do not be a fool. If there are too men. You run. Any person with common since could tell you that. Also I practice Muay Thai and boxing. So im not against any martial art. Except Thai quando. Or however its spelled. That stuff is worthless in self defense, MMA, but is very fun in competition but is mainly a "for the money sport." I did not mean to disrespect any martial art.
@slouttop I agree its not for streetfight . but think about it , it takes one second to dislocate your elbow with flying armbar and in 2 seconds you have one opponent down , one left , now you can pull your gun out , lol , and smoke em
@slouttop if you train BJJ , just feel BJJ , after 3 years of training (bjj) you will start to really understand what bjj is ..you will feel that BJJ is not just any martial art .. its IS an art , and it is a lifestyle... you will fall in love with it ,all your thinking becomes only BJJ , you will think of it everywhere ( in bed , in the car , when studying , when working) you will feel that you were born for it .. thats how bjj is a lifestyle ... you will do ANYTHING just to train BJJ ...
@slouttop just shut up , will you ?? your talking bullshit.... apparently your one of these guys who train other martiall arts.. and are jelouse because all they see , everywhere is jiujitsu owning everything else.,.. OR your a normal guy who got beaten the fuck up by a BJJ fighter , and is still bragging about it.....
Well I live in a poor place so my nutrion is like porridge, fruits rice and vegetables. All the rich people in my class have to worry about wieght and things. I think the sport Jiujitsu was made for people in the poor parts of the west as you Only need a gi enough money for classes and a willingness to learn.
@Alos21 So why dont you as a purple belt show them some good techniques and you all can roll together. Mats arent that expensive and you can use them for free most gyms. If your really passionate, train each other, Iron sharpens Iron. I dunno call me a dreamer...lol
@Alos21 wow, I live in Poland and I pay just around 20$ per month! (6 training days, with actually very good blackbelt!), and it's like just 30$ for People over 18!
But yea... Poland is poor country, though, we have cheap bjj classes :)
