The xr is the name for the older 100s, like the pre-2002. In about 2003, give or take a year, they did away with xr's and switched all the 4 strokes to crfs. So basically same bike, just different name.

tha difference is that a xr will beat a crf 100 cuz it has a 4 valve engina n a crf only has a 2 valve. plus xrs r just beast so that helps.

there is no difference really. XR was the model name for that line of bikes up untill 2003 i think, or somewhere around there. Then they started using CRF. same bike, different name.
