Yeah, I watched this awsome film called Zeitgeist, which explains all that. I totally agree with that film - just one thing bugged me. In Part 1 they say Marduk is a Syrian ancient God. Gold is also just a medium of exchange, not an end unto itself. You can't eat gold. If things ever got to the point in which gold would HAVE to be used as a medium of exchange, it would be just as worthless as paper currency. At least the current system allows for an expandable money supply. Take your pick - small monetary supply, or slightly higher rates of inflation. Pick one, assholes.
