hahaha dis trailer is fuccn stupid! hahahahahahahahhahahahahahahaha shudap and succ it up aready! hatin on Mormons LMAO hahahahahaha yaw hellaaa annoyin wid dis.
My reaction to this was similar to my reaction to the movie Recount: I wanted to die inside. Nevertheless, I will undoubtedly watch it soon. I want it to succeed to infiltrate the public consciousness. I really wholeheartedly do.
Ok ParanoidYank, let's say you could somehow identify, round up and murder every gay man, woman and child in the US. What would you do then? Each day hundreds more would be born across the country. Would you make it your life's work to hunt down and murder those babies? Cause that's the only way you could stop gay people from existing.
In a free country freedom means freedom for EVERYONE, or no one is free. You don't have to like or approve of what your fellow citizen does, but you do NOT have the right to force your beliefs on other free citizens based on a particular religious view. That is oppression. Gays want legal rights, not religious changes. The goverment has a responsibility to represent all citizens, regardless of religious beliefs. That is seperation of church and state. People need to mind their own business.
Yeah, so this film is going to have so many lies towards The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! For instance, no one ever has or ever will be threatened with being excommunicated (losing their membership as the video says) if they do or do not donate money or anything else to the cause! That's preposterous! And the LDS church isn't the only one who opposes same-sex marriage and whose members donated towards the cause! And the LDS church did NOT donate money! Members chose to!
@diabeticderek So are the Church happy to open up their books to public scrutiny to see whether they did or did not give money or payment in kind to the proposition 8 campaign?
@johncrwarner There was never an actual ballot election to vote in those supposed rights. A few judges made it law in an illegitimate way, and when it did go to ballot vote, it lost. So no rights were "taken away". And there is no hate by the way on the part of anyone who supports Prop 8, just disagreement with those who are against it. Although their is much hate from those who are against it. Therein lies the hypocrisy.
@diabeticderek Can I just check - so you believe that the role of the supreme court of California was illegitimate? They were as far as I am aware acting within the constitution and the question before them was one of equality and they voted for equality.
The vote for proposition 8 was therefore to add a clause to the California constitution making it legitimate to discriminate in a way that the supreme court had voted to remove.
@johncrwarner It's gone to ballot vote twice and the majority has decided. The LGBT still have all of the same rights; a man can still marry a woman regardless of their sexual orientation. That is simply being maintained. Nothing has been taken away.
@diabeticderek So you are an advocate of giving civil rights to be voted on - I wonder what the results would have been for black people in the southern states in 1956 after Brown V. the Board of Education. Having votes to remove a right does not make it a legitimate act - it is still an anti civil rights vote.
@johncrwarner You still misunderstand. It never was anyone's right to same-sex marriage. Those who practice homo- or bisexuality still have all of the same rights; a man can still marry a woman regardless of their sexual orientation. That is simply being MAINTAINED, meaning that's how it's ALWAYS BEEN. Nothing has been taken away.
@diabeticderek As the Supreme Court of California struck down as unconstituional the first amendment and established in California the right of equality of marriage for gays, lesbians and straights - that was removed by proposition 8 - thus a right was removed - whether you like it or not is irrelevant the court decided that gay men and lesbians could marry a same sex partner and that was removed by those who voted by proposition 8.
@diabeticderek I think what you don't understand is that if you're a gay man, you don't want to marry a woman, and if you're a lesbian, you don't want to marry a man. You want to marry who you love.
@diabeticderek I love the smear tactic - wasn't that used in the south when the whites said that the blacks were being aggressive in demanding their rights?

Somehow I can't imagine Jesus taking marriage rights away from anyone, and certainly not with governmental force.
