  • Hey everybody, let's argue about the difference between graphic novels and comics!

  • is this actually from the movie?

  • When did they use this song in the Film? I don't remember it. Still great though.

  • @theChickensaur01 If i remeber correctly it's when Ozymandias is meeting with the industry titans and explaining who he admires the most(Alexander The Great)

  • from what album are these tracks

  • OK how many soundtracks are out there

  • one of my favorite movies great soundtrack

  • good film, a different look at the super heros because in real life super heros would be quite brutal cos there so bad ass. cant arrest every body who wants to rule

  • You know this certainly is a one of a kind idea. However the resemblance to Batman killed me

  • So, if i write any profound stuff can i get a thumbs up?

  • @grandpajoe6191 No, you can get a thumbsdown, just like the one you got now :)

  • @deloreandmc88 Aww bitch. That ain't profound stuff :(

  • Only one idiot didn't try to rule the world lol

  • ADMIN DANCE PARTAY

UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE

  • admin has sent me

  • PARTY HARD

    80's Dance Party

  • DANCE PAARTAYY! Admin FTW!

  • Funny Junk FTW ))

  • Admin's 80's Dance Party!

  • I remember this song specifically in that movie with val kilmer where the military or some other people want a laser that he and his friend made, I think they were kids?? I forget the movie I was little. But the laser made a giant thing of popcorn in some guys house, and this song played at the end. And now that I think of it, I couldn't hear it in the attempted Adrian assassination part. I will have to watch that scene again.

  • @rossothecrimson7 Its does play during the attempted Ozymandias scene. You pay very close attention.

  • u didn't understand the argument at all did you…

  • i remember how there was a Minute Men before the Watchmen that fell apart. Then the guy at the end of the movie whom spilled red sauce on his Smiley Face yellow shirt. I'm thinking maybe he's going to take of the role: The Comedian.

  • i love how this makes the depression of the movie seem so realistic and makes me almost wish these things actually happened. this song has a melody nothing like the movie but the lyrics perfectly mirror the plot.

  • ok who sings this? and where was it in the movie?

  • @MrHellion159 tears for fears .. they pretty dope! I heard this song on the Dennis Miller Live years back!

  • When i heard this song i wished that it would be the 80s :D

  • the best song evar!

  • When I looked at the link to this video, it looked like Owl had giant demon horns...

    :P

  • It´s the end song of the game World In Conflict xD

  • this song is a direct theme for ozymandias. although his goal was to save the world at any costs, he sure did have an ego that could make kanye appear to be an adolescent suffering anorexia.

  • such a good song for this movie

  • Adrian is my hero. Adrian Monk.

  • @minjod Fighting against crime and OCD

  • the comedian is my hero .. hahahah is the best . and wacth men is the best graphic in all times.

  • Just watched the film...

    it's so awesome,

never thought that it would be so profound

    and nice songs too,

    80s ftw

  • Who watches the watchmen. GOD

  • @MrBluefire39 Who watches god?

  • the 80s track of this movie is awesome....one of the reasons that i love this!!

  • when was this in the movie?

  • @ninjaman1178 Its at the part where Veidt is walking through his office and talking to the businessmen about Alexander The Great, right before the assassin comes down the elevator. I only noticed it when I saw it in theaters, after watching it more on DVD I've found I can hardly hear it in the scene.

  • @r1dethesky im gonna see the movie again but thx!

  • @r1dethesky I experienced the same

  • @r1dethesky I actually noticed that as well! I was kinda pissed when I bought the movie with the same effect! the song complete fits Adrian Veidt totally.

  • guys its just a movie who cares if the book is better then the movie or vice versa its for use to enjoy it will never be real its just a movie they made to make money off us based on a novel>>>> enjot people people and move on cuz nothing forever... except me haha i wish

  • I wouldn't really call superman a graphic novel. Kinda made me laugh, when you said that. I don't deny that he's an icon and great, but I do find him cliche. Also, have you read Watchmen. 9times out of 10 people say they've read it and still think it's not as good or better ... when they haven't. I love how people are lobbying against it, when they probably hadn't even heard of it before the film came out. *shakes head sadly*

  • @xmaster2 I know how you feel *shakes head with you*

  • @xmaster2 I was lucky enough to hear about the book through the movie and yet i read it before i saw it and i have to say it is the best interpretation of real bleeding hurting feeling heroes.

    No one watchs the watchmen.

  • @xmaster2 Graphic Novel is just a fancy way of saying "Comic Book". Like calling a garbage man a sanitation officer. So superman could be called a graphic novel just like watchman could be a comic book :p

But still, Watchmen is thousands of times better than any super man story so far.

  • @lucasirineu Not entirely accurate a "Graphic Novel" is a very long, standalone comic book that isn't a normal issue of an ongoing series.

You couldn't just call any normal Superman issue a graphic novel, but there are SEVERAL Superman graphic novels.

  • @lucasirineu calling it graphic novel was a way for the industry to advance beyond just a "thing for kids" it allowed the "comic" industry to express that it was sophisticated and attract more people who would normally have looked down upon looking at pictures, and actually advanced it to a point where people acknoledge that it is a type of art just as much as a full word novel

  • @xmaster2 superman isnt a graphic novel its a comic there is a difference

  • @nnjnnj3 Depends on what you're reading. Superman has some awesome stories... like "For the man who has everything", "whatever happened to the man of tomorrow?" or Kingdome Come (yeah, in the end, everything comes down to being a Superman story).

  • @xmaster2 It's ridiculous. I heard of the graphic novel before the film out, but couldn't get hold of it until about three days after I saw the film. It doesn't matter in which order you read or watch them, the novel will ALWAYS be better because the film is essentially the novel with three quarters cut out and the other quarter edited for the big screen.

  • @xmaster2 I am one of the people that was not aware of the graphic novel beforehand, but I am glad that the movie introduced me to this wonderful story, so I suppose it is a necessary evil >:)

  • @xmaster2

Superman was a great symbol, and is a hero many others are based on, so i guess that's why it feels cliche. I haven't read the graphic novel yet, excited to get my hands on a copy ! Loved the watchmen, though i usually find myself battling against others who seemed to miss the whole point of the movie haha.

  • @xmaster2 What do you talking about with this "I wouldn't really call superman a graphic novel." stuff. Sure the Superman comics, and graphic novels as a whole aren't one big graphic novel, but there are many Superman Graphic novels like, Superman All Star, The Death of Superman, and Whatever Happened to The Man of Tomorrow. Those were all thick comic books that were written as a whole, in other words graphic novels. That last one was written by Alan Moore, but I don't know if you knew that.

  • @proboxershotgunner I suppose people have different feeling son what a graphic novel is then. Plus, my comment was to someone who was defining superman as a graphic novel and comparing it with watchmen. superman is mainly a comic book superhero, and one of the most influential. I don't consider him a graphic novel character, though. *shrug*

  • @xmaster2 hipster much?

  • @derobmai But he's right- Superman isn't a graphic novel. It's a comic book. Or a comic book franchise, if you want to get picky.

And most people I know have seen the movie without reading Watchmen, and are hesitant to acknowledge the original graphic novel could be better.

  • @CuckooNow i did not say superman was a graphic novel. dont attempt to derive a contextual meaning from just two words -.-

  • @derobmai I'm just pointing out that nothing he's said is wrong.

  • @CuckooNow i did not say he was wrong neither -.-

  • @derobmai Well you didn't say he was right, but you did insult him- that makes it appear as if you disagree with what he's saying.

  • @CuckooNow puh lease, in what way did i insult him. quit being melodramatic -.-

  • @derobmai Well, you said "hipster much?". That's mostly used as an insult- and if you were being complimentative, you wouldn't have used that choice of words.

  • @CuckooNow actually tht wasnt "mostly" used as an insult. it was used as a mock. get it right dude, ur choice of words were wrong since the beginning. i mocked him cus he "laughs"at (he said and i quote) "9times out of 10 etc..." well, that sir is what "hipsters" are. u are not "more knowledgeable" or whatsoever close to it just because most ppl do things or see things differently. i did not say he was wrong on his facts and neither was i complimentative. stop tryna judge ppl from 2 words

  • @derobmai No need to get mad. All I said was that he's right.

  • @CuckooNow oh, all of a sudden u changed topic.

  • @derobmai I'm just saying, you're getting very hostile. If you want this argument to continue for another few days, then by all means. Establish the difference between insulting someone and mocking them.

  • @xmaster2 "Graphic novel" is basically a fancy term for "comic book." You're honestly a little bit clueless if you don't think Superman - a comic book - is a... comic book.

  • @Bagheadman Clueless, indeed. A Graphic Novel is a piece of fictional work, set out in an experimental design or typical comic format, but laid out as a book. Therefore it tends to be much longer and in depth than a Comic. I don't deny that there have been a few Superman "Graphic Novels" however Superman is primarily a "comic" as issues are usually shorter and the story spans over various episodes rather than being in one long book. Watchmen has only ever been a GN, superman is mostly a comic.

  • @xmaster2 Watchmen was released in trade paper back form before anything that means it came out in issues....

  • Oh lord i love this tune!!

  • What part of the movie was this in? I just watched it last night and I was listening for it, but I didn't hear it...

  • It's only in the movie briefly, when Adrian is talking with the energy conglomerate. It's at the part where they're meeting in the elevator lobby.

  • @wachmenfan YEAH where IS DR. Manhattan??? come on absusdey93

  • oh he can do anythings so he makes invision him being there

  • @mr8mahatta Nobody cares so much about him in the movie...even on the end of the movie...lol

  • wheres dr mahaten

  • Absusdey93 didn't want to be suspended that is why.

  • i dont know if this was in the film

  • it was 100 %

  • yea rite before a guy tried to assisnate adrian lol

  • Rorschach will resurrect from the dead.

  • I love 80s music. It seems like it's at peace with itself, conquered its demons, and is relaxing...

  • well put blade its like a rebirth of sorts but still is old enough to be classic it just fits and its when i was born so it all fits lol love this song

  • Very well said Kroenen (Also my favorite character from Hellboy)

  • As he is mine I hope he comes back somehow Hes so awsome.. my avatar on my profiles on some websites is rorshack or kroenen lol

  • I am bombarded by 80's music at work and I have grown really fond of it. Been listening to MJ, Madonna, U2, Wham, Queen, 80's had great music.

  • Where do you work?

  • Metro, formally a Loeb grocery store.

  • @TickleMeJewish

    Dang right.

  • Did you even understand the damn movie? Jesus...

  • That's the POINT. They're supposed to be bad examples of superheroes because they're shown as actual human beings, not perfect visions of amazingness. Who watches the watchmen? means that even "heroes" are not fully capable of judging. It essentially destroyed the superhero archetype and I fucking love Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons, and Zack Snyder for doing so.

  • Amen man! , I loved the novel and loved the movie for the exact reasons you stated.

  • @CaymanXWarrior I felt later on that Spiderman was doing that, before Watchmen. And even Wolverine had flashes.

  • @CaymanXWarrior Spot on. A decronstruction and all around satire of "superheroes"

  • cayman you hit the nail right on the head

  • haha, no kid, you definitely didn't get it.

  • So Iceman and Superman are your idea of great superheroes? Have you ever even read a comic book?

  • Wow, that's an arrogant statement considering that Superman is the oldest superhero around, that he's influenced countless others and that he's the dominant figure in the DC universe.

You may not like him, but others do. Some like Watchmen, some like Spawn, others like Superman.

Personally I've got about 5000 comic books, about 20 of them are Superman, so I'm not exactly a huge fan myself. To deny that he is great, tho, is plain arrogance. Go read you "graphic novels".

    And Iceman is cool.

  • @fradrig Damn right

  • the faces and the melody..........that fits xD

  • great song, I love how it's used in the film. I so want the extreme cut

  • Great way to end the film.

I love the song and was surprised that this was used.

    5/5

  • oh this was used in the film i didnt notice it

  • Yup. Right in the end credits.

  • Is it bright where you are?

    Have the people changed?

Does it make you happy you're so strange.

    And in your darkest hour

    i hold secrets flame

we can watch the world devoured in it's pain
