This very much PROVES my point in WISDOM that citizens do not need to carry weapons to stand together to promote and to live in a safer society. There were no guns concealed during this incident, but this is admittingly a brow raiser for Texas as they LOVE to shoot folks with their concealed weapons and call it self defense. Most times, this will make the offender more angry & will want to unfornately kill the person. You have to assess the situation and wait for an opening. I think that instead of Cop Ride alongs, why don't you and 4 other comrades offer true self defense techniques for 15 bucks an hour a day.

I've seen video of the opposite where there is a life and death struggle and people just keep walking by. I think the fact that it was a woman officer made people more willing to step up. I've given a great deal of thought to this matter and in all probability would also come to the aid of a policeman even though there is no love between us.

I believe that that's a Glock pistol. If it is, it doesn't have a safety. Most likely, because she was holding on to the pistol by the frame and slide, the slide was pushed slightly out of battery and therefor couldn't be fired. It's a well known technique. Just my .2
