  • Left right combos while they feel natural are terribly easy to see coming. Try this, Position 1 is sword side leg, 2 is sword side body, 3 is sword side head, 4 is shield side head, 5 is shield side body and 6 is shield side leg. Now do a drill that hit 1/1, then 1/2, then 1/3 til you hit 1/6. Then do 2/1, 2/2, 2/3 etc etc till you do all possible combination of those locations.

  • Thanks for this suggestion! I'll try this one during my next pell session.

  • In each of your vids (that I've seen) the 1st thing you do is drop your shield. Stop it. If you aren't already taking a lot of blows to the left side of your head it's comming. Remember you only need to throw one blow to kill an opponent, you may need to block fifty so work up your defense.

  • Just like the previous two have said with one suggestion.... it should look something like this .... - flatsnap followed by / Body\swordarm shot. Its a good combo expecially with a half step foward with your shield foot. To keep from over extending cheat your back leg up a bit, and shift your weight back on your back leg before the shot. As you throw your shot take a half step foward with your lead foot then you should be closer and still in propper balance.

  • If you stumble across this video, this comment is golden! I've won many bouts by doing exactly what he says... but typically, I get their sword arm. Still, great advice!

  • Hey guys, thanks for your comments. I'm working on changing things, based on the feedback i've gotten here and else where. Once I've got things sufficiently trained up, I'll post updated videos. Thanks for your help!

  • looks like you need to throw the first shot higher at your oppennents head instead of at the shield. then second shot should be lower under his sword arm.since he just had to move to block your first shot.

  • Try a half step on the left foot when you deliver the second shot, so you don't have to lean forwards.
