  • Le Grand maitre de tous les temps

  • Aouita the best!!!!!!

  • Aouita - Mocelli - El Guerouj in men's and Boulmerka, BENIDA MERAH in women's 1500 ... it's an algerian-moroccan story

  • The Moroccan national anthem is really beautiful.

  • Xylophone ! you don't know shit about athletesim. just for your information. El guerrouj beat bekele in Olymic games of 2004 in 5 K. Guerreouj was the greatest in 1500 m. he is moroccan like Said Aouita. but in my opinion , Aouita is the greatest.. ever. have you watched how Aouita used to win. he used to pass others runner by a lap or two. that never hgappened.. but Aouita did it

  • Said Aouita was the only athete in the history who compete and won medals in 800, 1500, 5000. No Athlete ever was able to compete in 800, and 5000, 10000. Even bekele, coe, the eutopian gibral selasse never compete in 800 m. Aouita won 115 race og 119 . A world record in winning....

  • How can Aoutia be the best ever? Having a good range is not the test of the best athlete. It is dominating your best event. He has only one olympic gold and was scared of coe in 84' so ran the 5000m instead of 1500m. Plus he was on the juice..

  • He avoided Coe 3 times; LA 84, Zurich 84 and Zurich 89.

  • 99run4it99, Aouita won 115 out of 119 races in a seven year period, broke countless barriers (almost first sub 3:30 1500m, 7:30 3000m, 13:00 5000m), defeating world and olympic champions alike at their distances. Were it not for his '88 injury he might have gotten more Olympic golds, as he had beaten Cruz weeks prior... as for his "being juiced..." it is just a rumor, not proven and simply stupid to assume as fact.

  • Aouita scared of Coe in 1984? Well first I want to point out that the 1500 and 5000 meter finals were held on the same day (8/11/84), so unless he can "do a Paavo Nurmi" (unlikely in this era), he might've tried both. He chose 5000m because he was more comfortable with it. Second, I don't anyone, not the least of which included Aouita, thought Coe would win the 1500m, having spent years in a hospital... so I'm not sure "scared" is the right word here

  • @YiftertheShifter1 bro..at that time Moroccans didnt even know what vitamin C looked like let alone juice..hhhhhh

  • One last thing... if you think Aouita was genuinely afraid of Coe (and Coe might have suspected that himself), why does he speak so highly of Aouita in this documentary rather than supposedly "lamenting his cowardice?" Give respect to Aouita, he was a great athlete and has achieved feats that many still have left to repeat.

  • Of course Aouita is an all time great and deserves the utmost respect. It is just wrong when posters claim he was the greatest middle distance runner of all time when his record at the "middle distance" (800 & 1500m primarily) is not as good as others. Aouita was an enigma in that he was so good at a wide range of distances. I doubt he would have won the 800m, even without the injury, though could have won the 1500m.

  • The same thing could be said of Coe, who had already beaten Ereng ( the gold medalist) twice that season at 800m. He wasn't even allowed to go to Seoul due to political issues amongst the BAAB. Aouita did avoid Coe in Zurich 84, but I believe from what I've heard and read, that they both appreciated each other enormously; probably because they were much more alike in their style and build than say Cram.

  • Isn't it tiresome, arguing with nationalists? I agree with you, Aouita is one of the greats, but not the greatest. If Bekele can manage a successful marathon career, then for me there is no question that he is the greatest distance runner of all time. Aside from his XC domination, who else can run the last lap of a 10,000m race in 53.02 seconds? Unbelievable.

  • @TheXylophone123 yeah but it's easier to move up and succed than to move down and succeed..when u get older u lose speed and u move to longer distances and do well like a lot successful marathon runners were ex 5000 and 10000 m runners but when u have somebody like Aouita who is originally a cross country and long distance runner break world records in 5000,3000,mile,1500 and go to 800m and beat barbosa and go up to 1000 m for the first time and set 3rd best time in history..that's insane bro..

  • @99run4it99

juice? you must be fucking crazy for thinking that!

  • @dafadil101 at that time Moroccan athletes didnt even know how vitamin C looked like let alone juice..hhhhhhh

  • @99run4it99

are you fucking crazy? he was never on jucie

  • arabs run on the desert all the time , so running in a studium will be a piece of cake for us

  • Aouita a LEGEND

  • He was amazing.

  • Coe was just as good as Aouita when you think about it as his 800m world record stood for 18 years+ el guerrouj was much more dominant than Aouita ever was . But Aouita probably did have the best range of any athlete in history although Coe is rumored to have been able to run a sub 13 5k .

  • coe running a sub 13min 5000m...what type of crack r u on?

  • What a great tribute to a true legend of athletics history.

  • Agreed Aouita dominated the 80s. As little white boy in Texas during the 80s he was my distance running idol.

It's hard to compare different decades, training methods, shoes, etc

  • Aouita A True Moroccan Legend.

  • great.magic

  • the best ever thanks aouita .

  • he was the king of the 80's

  • he's the best athlete in the world

  • My favourite athlete ever!!!

  • Said Aouita

he's the best of the world

    الأفضل في العالم

  • Said Aouita

he's the best of the world

    الأفضل في العالم

  • Aoutia was world class without a doubt, but Haile Gebrselassie might have an argument on the best distance runner claim

  • Aouita is it. His range is unparalleled. #1 in the world in the 800 meters one year, # 1 in the 10,000 another.

  • what???...how is that?..i wanna know please..can gebre run a 1:43 (800m) or a 3:29(1500m) or even a 3:46(mile)?...the answer is ...a big NO...so the argument here is that aouita dominated all these distances from 800m all the way to 10000m and gebre didn't and couldn't do that my friend...sorry!

  • You really are so blinkered aren't you? As far as you're concerned there are only 2 great runners, EL G and Aouita, who just happen to be both Moroccan, just like you! Talk about nationalistic. He never "dominated" at 800m, he won a solitary bronze & was over 2 secs slower than Coe! At 1500m he won a solitary bronze in 83 and broke 1 WR; not exactly domination when you compare to his peers at the time. He only ran one 10,000 of any merit and Geg has run a minute faster since.

  • good documentary, if possible to put the rest.

Aouita will still the best athlete in all the time

  • i still love el guerrouj

  • He's the best athelete in the history of Morocco and he's probably in the Top 10 of world athletism history

  • More! More! More! THANKS!
