  • That is NOT true beauty at all! She was gorgeous

  • u have no idea how many times i look at an ad and say i want to look like that model and they dont even look like themselves!!!!!

  • so amazing. my favorite ad ever.

  • why would someone do that?!?! I think it all matters what's on the inside, not the out. She was really really pretty to start with, not all touched up with too much make up and photoshopped. it makes you think

  • I want to comment on the deepest of the video and all that but...somehow this commercial is scary as hell.

  • remind me to show this to my daughter....

  • What was wrong with this 0:16 and 0:40 both beautiful!

  • yeah yeah I get the message.

But the photoshop operator was a beast.

  • i am wondering which software that was

  • She looks like a shoulderless alien at the end! Good job, Dove.

  • No wonder there's so much low self-esteem ... we're all trying to compete with something that doesn't exist in reality.

  • @Twigs0wot we're all competing ???? look around I see a ton of ugly people so just chill with your life intervention.

  • its cool =)

  • Woah. That totally gave me shivers.

    GO DOVE.

  • she looked prettier without all the editing.

  • @TheIdotWongCompany So true, and atrios28 is right. The industry needs to focus on natural beauty. As long as "natural" doesn't go to extremes, then we have plus models..ect.. We all need an image to strive for.

  • The thing with the neck does so much 8O

Is that what they did to everybody on the movie posters? *pokes Kristen Stewart on New Moon*

  • It's those cute flaws that keep a guy interested

  • She's gorgeous to start with.

This is an amazing film, really makes you think.

  • I liked her just fine the way she was before =(

  • wow, the work of photoshop!

i feel sorta bad 4 that girl cause like no one would know it's her

  • i think every girl is pretty. the only thing that can make them ugly is their poor judgement of both themselves and others.

  • Well said.

  • she isn't ugly!

people nowadays are just so used to fake images of so-called "pretty" celebrities (that get this treatment all the time, by the way) that normal people don't make the cut anymore.

  • I wonder if those girls with photoshoped faces have confidence.

  • lol kinda ironic how they show something like this and are like "let us take your money to help your self esteem by buying out cosmetics" haha omg who would actually think that billboard of that woman has accurate features.. and actually she isnt that bad looking but she definately has a complexsion problem lol

  • Greenpeace is saving TREES

    DOVE is saving GIRLS

    : )

Thank you DOVE for telling girls the TRUTH

  • her neck wasn't even the right size!

  • i love you says nanny mick farty as she humps brittanys face

  • if people looked like that they wouldn't be able to survive. her neck was too thin and long and it would break if it was real

  • iv always wondered wat software they use to do that,

    any guesses ?

  • photoshop cs! best photo editing program everrrr

  • looked like CS3 by the looks of it

  • of course they dont... i mean ... "they have to change my face that drasticly to make me beautiful"

  • yes it is cs3

  • How the hell can it be CS3 when this PS version wasn't even released then.

  • photoshop ftw!

  • Most models are not that ugly

  • now if i ppl can only look like that for real =/

  • Does anyone know this song?

  • She dont look ugly. She is not the prettiest but she looks normal and already hot after she get make-up on her eyes (0.20). My view.

  • she looked like a man at the start.

  • hah you know whats intresting? She looked OK at the very beginning, but when they started to do shit to her then she began to look like a man! sick

    Then they fixed her again...

  • she was butt ugly in the beginning

  • song name?

  • I LOVE IT! SO TRUE

  • this vid is quite scary

  • You know actually, that woman was rather pretty. The only thing that might have made it not so was her acne & stuff, which she could have gotten rid of.

  • nobody is ugly :] great vid

  • I agree, the woman at the beginning was actually very pretty.

It's a shame that our world thinks we need to turn everything into perfection.

Yeah...our world is full of flaws, but that's what makes us unique and beautiful.

I love this so much. It proves such an amazing point.

  • this video is very eye opening. i will definatly think about photos in magazines more now. the girl at the start wasn't even ugly...

    shame really :(

  • i love how at the beginning it shows her as a normal person.

not an ugly person or a beautiful person.

  • I thought she was pretty D:

  • fully love this

  • I can't blame the media for the perception of beauty, its easy to turn off the tv, its easy to put the magazine down. As a kid it's easier to accept yourself. It's your own mind that makes you think perfection isn't obtainable.

I don't see why no one looks to themselves as the problem anymore, it's always someone else that's to blame.

  • In our pursuit of perfection, we've become so artificial... it's sad really that when we look at photos in magazines etc, we're not really looking at people anymore.

  • I'm not complaining that women try to make themselves look as appealing as possible.

  • Yeah, no wonder our beauty perception is damaged... I like this video a lot.

  • I like this clip because it shows us, that they don't even use real models, they photoshop them, and it's all just a big lie in my opinion, they should use real ordinary people as models, because they are the real deal, not some super skinny, perfect skined, model who in the end is not so perfect after all, because they photoshop them, every single girl in this world is beautiful in their own way, don't ever let anyone else make you beleive different :)

  • At the beginning she looks like one of those models that show you how would you look if you use crystal meth hahaha did you see the red marks on her face?

  • She's not ugly, just pretty much a regular person.

  • good commercial

  • thats not fair

  • Cool, but I don't get the point of this ;S

  • ur a moron.

  • It's saying that girls are trying to acheieve a level of beauty that doesn't even exist- the models they see in magazines and on TV are wearing a ton of makeup and photoshopped to look "perfect", and they think that they need to look like them.

  • It's very simple and clear, they are suggesting you to get a neck surgery and then make you neck look longer. That was clear, hahaha yeah you know I'm kidding but yet some people would have that perception and won't get the real message.

  • the point is that our view of beauty it distorted and fake. we are always looking for perfection in someones face whether it is retouched or plastic surgery. so dove has a campagin for really beauty rather than this distorted image of beauty that we all try to reach up too and will do what ever we can do reach up to that level of perfection.

  • This is such a great commercial. I'm a teacher's assistant for a Photoshop class at an art college and the teacher plays it for her students to show how photographers fix their photos for the media, but it's also how we think that this unnaturally perfect model is our example of beauty. Thank you Dove for telling like it is. =)

  • It is amazing how our perception of beauty can be altered so far away from reality.

  • whats the song name?

  • Cool !!

  • crzy wat ppl do to get a good picture

  • thats sick! :)

  • image is being manipulated in order to portray certain model characteristics, when really no one ever looks like that

In the beginning when she first walks in her face was so pimply, yet all that make-up covered up her face. It's pathetic really.

  • little cum clear that right up, and its free

  • this is not unobtainable, i have seen this one girl (only one though, so yeah for the average person) that looked flawless like that, her skin was amazing, it looked just like that picture, and her makeup was perfect.

  • NOBODY IS PERFECT. NOBODY!!

  • and she STILL looks ugly, wtf?!

  • lmfao

  • ha!

  • haha!

  • que estupido tu compentario.. es un excelente trabajo.

  • You really got to admit. No one looks as great as models on magazines, and I guess this is why.

    *favorite*

  • despite the fact that unilever is also making the axe commercials this ad says something in itself, even if its creators are contradicting themselves.

  • Everyone, please overlook/maintain naivete about the fact that dove is owned by the parent company (Unilever) that owns Axe deodorant.

They're playing us consumers on both ends to make a little coin. But please, stay ignorant so they can maximize their money off us.

  • how are they contradicting themselves, last time i checked, axe isn't trying to tell guys that they need to look flawless like the models look, all axe tells guys is that if they buy there deodorant, that they'll be more attractive.

all dove is saying is that girls shouldn't beat themselves up because they dont look flawless, when in reality, even the models arnt flawless.

  • nobody should believe what they see in comercials...here is the proof!!!

  • Wow. Now that you point it out, though, one eye does look bigger than the other.

    Music is awesome, yes. ^_^

  • I absolutely love the music

  • The flashbulb - Passage D

It's a great song off a great album

    :-)

  • woooooooow I like it so mush

  • my favorite part was when they stretched her neck! LOL! so funny!

  • is it just me, or is one of her eyes bigger than the other after they photoshop it? fired!

  • ohhh ya i think it is!!! hadn't noticed that until u pointed it out!

  • its so that it wont make it look to fake. i mean cmon, you want everyone to to think its really perfect?

  • l33t photoshop work omg!

  • that was revealing.

  • So true!

  • true, they glam her up, and end up changing her anyway.

  • I love this, i like the music too.

  • freaky but i love it. this wasn shown in our class

  • ati mintit poporu' cu fotoshopu' huuuuuuuuuuu!!

  • i love this video

  • what is the name of the song?

  • You know, you can tell the editing job isn't real. THe neck isn't going to automatically extend when you pull up on the head. And neither is the head when you pull the eyes down, it doesn't work like that

  • retard that was real, they used vector masks it is easy to tell. you obviously have no idea of how photoshop works.

  • Whoa hello. No need to call me a retard. So I have slim knowledge of photoshop. You could have just pointed that out instead of calling names...

  • yer this may be true doing the whole computerized look but using a completely normal persomn who looks nothing like the result but it oenst mean to say there arent ppl naturally thin, beautidful, tall, with big boobs, or big nobs i mean come on you dont see them doing that to guys ..now do you

  • just because you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. (hint: it does)

  • this is what happens to pretty much every model. Just hours and hours of make up, and then more hours and hours of airbrushing. models don't have acne, moles, or in most cases, not even freckles for that matter. they look so completely unreal

  • just incredible. I'm amazed

  • it looked prettier before the phototshop

  • I find it funny how they take a woman who doesn't fit the mold for the same shows that are done in full public view, and try to brainwash you into thinking stereotypically beautiful women don't exist. Might as well say that there's no such thing as nature Double D Breasts or Men packing ten whole inches.

  • now the add looks fake

  • Sooooo glad to see someone else realizes just how distorted our perceptions of beauty really are! I hate that, but love the music in this video!

  • Love this. That was one of the reasons I left advertising. I hate the pressure the industry puts on young women to "fix" themselves.

  • Right on!

  • bravo, que bueno que existen gentes creativos con sensibilidad y respeto a la belleza natural de la mujer.

  • i love this commercial

  • I liked the before much better, shes WAY too pretty to be 'fixed' with photshop.

  • Her eyes look crap...they dont look good big...other than that, no wonder our perception of beauty is distorted.

  • Wow. That's some crazy shit. o-o

  • its aint half right

  • Anyone know how to achieve that neck stretch in PS?

  • You can't. It was made probably with stamp tool (mostly). It looks like that only in this video - because they wanted to make it short.

  • Uhhmmm.. Ya you can. I can do it. I am just curious if someone else has an easier way. Thx all the same.

  • If I knew I would have retouched all my pictures and post them at Face Book month ago!

  • w w w . m y s p a c e . c o m /operationclass

  • This was amazing and so true !!

  • Such an eye opener. If only they'd teach this sort of stuff to young girls.

  • The girl i am asking out has you people say "unacheiveable skin"...it may be unrealistic to a lot of girls but it is certainly not impossible

  • rise women of beauty... rise...

  • and now that they've made her beautiful, she'll never give you the time of day!

  • love this commercial, but i found the final pic of the girl to be terrifying..anyone agree?

  • interesting comment... terrifying maybe..unatainable woman may be terrifying ..terror and sex might make you look at the billboard

  • 'o'?

  • qualcuno sa di chi è la colonna sonora...è possibile scaricarla da qualche sito?

  • ok, wat?

  • i think this is it, women have low self esteem becouse they dont look as beautiful as the women on billboards, but what they dont know is that the women on the billboards are accually not any prettier than they are.

  • ok, i get it now, thnx

  • Okay first of all, this is why people with all the money get the money, because they take control of the media and they are able to put anything they want on a tv screen. You know, if I wanted to be politically correct about this, I would say this billionaire is making a right move. I'm sick of dating girls with low self esteem. It's not sexy to me.

  • dove is trying to make money. it is a major corporation. do you think that they are concerned with your self esteem rather than money? this is a marketing ploy and was staged. we all need to stop being so critical on each other for our imperfections, but to think that doves reasons behind this ad campaign are noble is naive. this is in order to make money. people will be drawn to dove because this makes them feel important to the company and they can use the "foundation" for a tax write off.

  • You are right when you say Dove wants to make money. Because everybody wants. Look at your shoes, clothes, car and the things you desire. You will pay money for them. Every business is about money and if it was not there wouldn´t be employment, progress or development. You say they can use the "foundation" for a tax write off, but that´s one of the aims of a "foundation", to beneffit a company which can contribute to a social cause.

  • (continuation of bellow) The Board of Directors probably is focused on that, but the people who were designed to develope the foundation might have a different view. I just believe this is a great idea. It was time for someone with "money" enough to make it clear to the world how illuded people have been by media and this false beauty concept they advertise so much in order to make us consume more and more useless things and still feel bad about ourselves.

  • (continuation of bellow)... I congratulate this noble soul who had this great idea, even if he or she works for any "evil" company which needs to make money and run away from taxs. It was brilliant.

  • but see if dove is promoting natural beauty and helping too boost self esteem AND making money at the same time then it's a win-win situation. so what's the problem?

  • oh, my, god.

  • No it isn't! You are just stupid! And you don't understand what Dove does. Loser :)

  • There should be more adds like this to show girls/women that the "Beautiful Women" they strive to look, and be like... are non-existant to an extent, and don't look anything like the finished RETOUCHED product in real life.

  • What makes all the "flaws" they fixed flaws? What makes a small nose ugly, and a big nose beautiful? Please, someone tell me what beautiful is to them, jesus christ. Shut the fuck up saying she's beautiful in the end, that "beauty" isn't real, and NO ONE looks liek that, get that through your fucking heads, and stop listening to the media. Fuck the media.

  • That advertisement is so sick. They are stating that women need to change for the world and look how the world wants them to look. More women look like the BEFORE than do the after, and society pressures women to do the unnatural. It's only make up companies that feel natural is ugly.

  • this girl looks like she is a mannequin/dead.

  • amen!

  • no, you idiot. this advertisement is trying to say that women do not have to do this. dove is all about a woman's natural beauty.

  • IF, that's IF "dove " is all about natural beauty ,then DOVE wouldn't have posed the older women nude. DOVE has never had nude women in their 20s or 30' s nude in their poster advertisements. THey chose to do that ONLY to the older women. So DOVE is not about women's beauty. DOVE is about making money and making sensational ads that will bring in more money.

  • by showing an older woman, they are saying fuck your beauty standards, this woman is beautiful. thats the difference between "beauty" and "real beauty" that they are trying to point out. and of course that is shocking to us brainwashed zombies who aren't used to seeing such images or thinking of old people as beautiful.

  • Quit lying to yourself homeboy. She looked busted before they started the makeover and YOU KNOW it.

  • i'm not even referring to this video, "homeboy," but a totally different ad. however there's this thing called "personal taste" and it means that nobody thinks the same way as you do about everything. my point? grow up and stop being a bitch.

  • You can't even respond without cussing/name calling man. You are waaaaaaaaaaaack.

  • you can't respond with a coherent thought.

    waaaaaaaack

  • Superbooks, I believe you just missed the whole concept of the video. It's actually the other way around.

  • yes, she looked gr8 before all that!@

  • Beginning: An attractive, good-looking woman.

End: A fake and very slutty looking.

    Which one, people?

  • Dove admits that it's a FUND. It's an AD CAMPAIGN. They just want more money; they don't really care about people.

  • Kukaracha123 is right. They don't use Photoshop to edit her picture. Not sure what it is tho. Could be Paint Shop Pro, but I'm not familiar with the program. That's just a guess.

  • This is not Photoshop! Does anybody knows something about this program?

  • it is photoshop

  • oh what the deuce! i can't seem to find much about retouching with photoshop ... so want to get going with it!

  • Does anyone know the name of the song in the video?

  • its good

  • sh0pped
