@riseup274 evaporation of black holes is often misunderstood, the thing you are not realising is the time scale that black hole evaporation works on. A sub stellar black hole is a vague statement. how big exactly is that? planet sized? golf ball sized? if so then evaporation will take billions of years without any matter being added to the blackhole, if by miniature you mean subatomic level then its life expectancy would almost be simultaneous with its creation and you would be probably correct.
I seem to remember when the LHC was being built, the media was full of the doom and gloom hysterics regarding accidental miniature black hole formation.
There was an official denial by a CERN science spokesperson saying that it would be an impossible occurence and we should stop worrying. Now this guy is saying that its now possible to create one in the LHC and they are actively trying to create one? Fucking scientists will be the death of us all one day.
@PopeWithDaScope "god damned christian", i do nothing to earn damnation and i'm not a christian in your sense of the word.
My science comment was poking fun at the Luddites that fear science but i was also pointing out the inconsistancy in CERN's statements regarding singularities. It's a form of irony.
@PopeWithDaScope If that is the case, then why post a comment at all or are you just trolling because you've too much time on your hands and not enough understanding.
@gordongate i appreciate what you mean but the video staded that a black hole smaller than the typical stellar or supermassive blackholes would eventually evaporate so continuing this idea if one were to be created on earth it would have a minute or even no effect
We're trying to study and understand black holes.
we know that they may be as small as a city block and eat a star alive... but we can't get up close to one.
"How about making our own earth-made black holes?"- sounds like a smart idea -_- (sarcasm)

@TakeThatRage119 Obviously you don't know very much about black holes.
falubii 1 week ago
@falubii why's that? what makes you doubt my knowledge over black holes?
TakeThatRage119 1 week ago
@TakeThatRage119 If you did know much about black holes, you would realize that there is no harm in creating tiny black holes on earth.

I think we already have a black hole factory; it's called Greek economy

and what if they DO NOT evaporate and starts growing bigger? last thing we'll see will be a "not so little anymore" black hole chewing our feet xD

@Metroidpeter i so Agree with you

I just hope they can control that, because if the event horizon touches anything, goodbye earth.

@MetroidPeter I also agree. I do not look forward to this outcome.
