I live 5-10 minutes from the Navarre pier , very nice beach . I fish for pompanos right by the narre pier from feb to may for pompanos and now I'm fishing on the navarre pier for all kinds of fish . Nice video and very nice pier .
@jokaz82: watch the surf. That is generally the limiting factor. If the surf is high, just pick another spot.
I'd highly recommend the jetties at Ft. Pickens in nearby Pensacola. It's a great dive, with tons of critters to see. You just have to dive it an hour or so before high tide for the best visibility and kindest currents.
deepest depth is 20ft. surf zone ends about 50-75 yards from shore. they are in the process of tearing down the old pier now, but we're hoping that they leave the rubble from the even earlier pier that's a little West of the current structures. There are two sea turtles that frequent the area, and are mostly curious when divers approach respectfully.
not really worried over sharks. they usually stay away from scuba divers (they don't like the bubbles apparently). conditions have been bad the last 2 months in NW Florida, but the jellies are moving out and the viz is getting better too!
