I would ask them to at least get their stories of events straight, forget teachings, and forget point of views and forget everything else. Many Christians ask Muslims when was the bible corrupted and what was corrupted, well I'll tell you what and when, it started with Paul, he claimed to be an inspired apostle and from that point started giving you his version of Christianity, e.g. Jesus said he didn't come to abolish the Law, Paul he chocked the LAW out of the window, Jesus said he came unto the children of the house of Israel "only" Paul made Christianity a religion for the masses.

And by the way Islam doesn't preach the gospel, it preaches the Quran, so that "rule" doesn't actually apply to it. Here is the fallacy of islamic thinking:

1) They believe allah sent down the torah, psalms and injeel (Gospels))

2) They believe these were all corrupted

3) The provide no evidence for it, despite all the evidence to the contrary (history, archaeology). Then they say "But the quran is the final and preserved revelation". Ironically, the quran itself says that we are to obey the torah and injeel, so how can they even say it's corrupted anyway? Islam makes no sense.

May I suggest the video "What the West needs to know" about Islam. The mandate for the true Muslim believer is to conquer the world for Allah. Much of what is written in the Quran are distortions of Judaism and Christianity. Islam is a very dangerous doctrine that all Christians would do well to understand as an affront to the God of Holy Scripture and His Christ. Read Sura 9 of the Quran and the other holy books of their belief system it is simply a warrior's code with strong sensual overtones
