great video i see you have changed the springs does that affect the ride comfort in a bad ...way ...like on the road...my friends dad increased the ride height on his jeep and we would feel every little bump on the road in our buttholes..have you got some absorbers wit it or something...how much does doing this cost
did you have to rebuild it after 50 k and has it lost 80 percent of its value in a few years?ive seen some junk ones, even a car towing one on a trailer
@cuda540ify, no I didn't and don't know of any owners in the LR club that had to after 50k. I have 120k+ on it. They do have a bunch of annoying things that need fixing so they are a maintenance hog that's for sure.
"The Land Rover Defender is capable of tackling a gradient, an approach angle, a departure angle, and a ramp break-over greatly superior not just to urban 4x4s but to military vehicles such as the HMMWV."
Was this set-up something that you put together yourself or some kind of added feature from the factory? Do you have a monitor inside the vehicle so that it could benefit you on the trail?
A very nice video, amigo! It's very funny to see what happens down there. One day I put my cam bolted to a member of my Land Rover Defender 110 chassis to check how works the rear suspension. It was also a very nice one!
That was mostly the Mengel Pass trail as it is today go drive it and count the rocks. Yes, it isn't all that tough of a trail, but then again this was about the camera. BTW, 2 Jeep Wranglers needed to be winched up that were blocking the way so it has it's moments. Count again, the wide angle camera is deceiving.
The proper way would be to put a stop to keep it from going more than 360°, however I just make sure to not keep going too much one way. If I do the camera just stops moving when the cables bind, then I know I went too far!
Brilliant Idea... Is the camera actually rotating, or is it a mirror that rotates? Just thinking that maybe the camera can be stationary out of the way and a mirror used to have it look around and in the event of damage no worries, mirrors are cheap... I Love this idea!
The mirror idea came up and does make sense, just haven't had time to implement. The camera will still have to rotate with the mirror. I have a design that should work great with a break away mirror section.
cool vid, how do you add music?

@4durt i rebuilt mine at 63000 miles. but i still love it, and love spanking jeeps on the trail.

I really like your camera and rotating mount. Just one question though... Is there any lift on your rover?
LostAI117 1 year ago
New springs give it a total of about 3"
4durt 1 year ago
@LostAI117 It's a Land Rover, not a Rover. Rover is a totally different car brand.
richoverip 6 months ago
@richoverip I'm in America where they don't sell Rovers. Since there is nothing for them to be confused with we just call them Rovers.

my parents have an 02 discovery, i wish we gone off roading with it, they use it as an everyday car, it is still beast

Yeah right. That's why the American Special Forces bought a load of Land Rovers for work in Iraq and Afghanistan

Nahh, its prob because there less likely to get attacked in a British looking land rover.
Hmm Humvie V a land rover - I know what i'll have!
- Work out old rover anyday!

the land rover is one of the best off-roaders out there but the Hummer H1 is the best

And that's the military Humvee.

Put together from various parts. Using it on trail was exacally what we were doing. See link in video info.

Land-rover is a very good off-road car.Unluckly, I don't have money to buy a land-rover.

Great Video, great fiddle playing. Who is it? As a Land Rover 110 csw owner and a fiddle player myself over here in England, found it fascinating

How do you solve the problem of the camera wire getting tangled?
